Three UK Nano Sim

Just to confirm what some others were saying yesterday, I went into a Three Store earlier and got my nano sim..

It will be active in "24-48" hours..

You also get micro sim and regular sim adapters as seen in my pic above.. :)

have decided I'm leaving O2 after around 10 years of loyal service since I was a teenager on PAYG!

Recent poor service outages and the lack of preperation for this launch has made me decide I'm moving to vodafone (better signal in the office and decent European travel bundles)

But am not going to change SIM's and networks (and hence phone numbers) at the same time - will move to o2 nano sim then sign up to SIM only vodafone tariff week after launch.

Get your number ported over?

I'm amazed the number of people who have a new phone number every year.

Rang Orange earlier to find out there was 2000 people in the queue and that I'd be waiting around 2 hours to speak to the 'iPhone team'. So I've decided against upgrading early for £70+ and I'm just going to wait till the 13th October when my upgrade is actually due! I'm not counting on it but it may have died down somewhat by then...

I went into a Vodafone store in London this morning, and asked them about a new nano sim. The guy said they don't have them in stock, and it will probably be a week or two before they do.

Just spoken to someone at my local 3 store. She took my details and said if I go in tomorrow morning she will put a preorder of a 32gb black through for me for pickup next Friday. :)

Sounds good to me.

EE havent launched yet so come next Friday (When the 5 is out) no. They wont offer sim only 4G plans.

From EE:

"Customers can either wait for EE to launch (we will be announcing the date in the coming weeks) or they can sign up to a contract with T-Mobile or Orange and upgrade to EE free of charge once it has launched, as long as they move to an equivalent priced and length plan
on EE."

I guessed as much. So unless you lock yourself in, its no go for those who want freedom/flexibility.

I wonder what the O2 speeds are for DC-HSDPA/HSPA+ probably s h i t e as per usual.

Sorry - that came out wrong - of course i'll port my number over but the combo of changing SIM's and networks and porting phone number across with 2 different phones and networks who will be swamped at the time should anything go wrong - is a recipe for disaster - so will take it one step at a time!

Phone them. I was done and dusted in 10 minutes!!! Straight through and told it'll be delivered friday!

This.... I did the same, was worried as ive heard horror stories of 3 CS.

no need to have, fella seemed very knowledgeable, processed my order and assured me it would be with me next friday.

took about 10 minutes too

yup me to, i have been a monthly paying customer for years and years.. pay as you go before that...

and i get banned from their customer information and forums with no reason and no warning? either there is a technical fault or they have some very bad moderators...

i have gotten onto live chat to resolve this and have been told it will take up to 5 days to sort out and have been told i have not been banned from their end?

why am i giving these people my money and being treated like crap? im just glad i am on a monthly rolling contract and can leave any time i want.

bunch of total amatuers .

Am I getting this wrong ? even if the pre-orders for O2 dont start before later , it shouldn't affect when we are getting the phones ? ( hopefully on the launch day ?).. or am I completely mistaken ?

Well yeah i would assume so. No one has ordered from them so its still a level playing field as long as they launch before the 21st.

After being with O2 for years, paying £35 a month just to keep my unlimited data, I'm planning on moving to 3 on a sim-only plan for my iPhone 5, which would cost me just £13 a month for unlimited data. Now if only their online store was working!

I'm seriously considering ditching O2 for 3 to get the Ultimate 600 SIM. But then i remember they're not getting 4G until Sept 2013, and then i start to wonder if its worth switching or if i should just wait till iPhone 6 with O2 which will hopefully support 800Mhz/2600MHz.

Anyone know if EE will be offering SIM-only 4G plans?

Don't forget that Three and the Iphone 5 support the DC-HSPA+ with speeds up to 42 mbps. Apparently 40% complete now and finishing by end of year. Should keep us going until 4G rolls out?

Mine was activated within 2 hours, up and running now!

I went to Three this morning. They make you sign the contract there and then along with credit checks etc., however pay for the phone when you collect it next Friday!

CPW / O2 pre-orders?

I've preordered a PAYG iP5 64GB from Apple as a 'belt and braces' so I'm guaranteed a phone on launch day come what may. but..

I've been waiting for O2 to allow online pre-orders since early this morning, ready and waiting with my out of contract Simplicity to pre-order and upgrade to a £36pm 24 month iP5 contract.

As many of you have seen O2 haven't started their pre-orders yet. The reasons given out aren't consistent but it does appear that CPW are handling O2's phone allocation. As such it seems prudent to step back along the chain and order from CPW themselves.

Are CPW taking O2 pre-orders? Taking a deposit/full payment? Guaranteeting launch day availabilty? Allowing in store collection or home delivery only? Just on the verge of pulling the proverbial trigger here.

Ok thats what I thought.. I promised myself I wouldnt get impatient and all , that it was just a phone and that but once again I am getting carried away ..

Fingers crossed it is later today tho.. then can move onto something else lol

Indeed. I was just researching DC-HSDPA on all the carriers and it looks like 3 offer the best deal/speeds still.

Sorry I'm such a newb, will t-mobile not supply me with a nano sim?

Just spoke to Tmobile as I want to swap my sim only plan from O2 to them, they cannot do this on a nano sim till after the 21st! Great. Looks like I will have a new phone and no way to use it! GRRRRR

Woo, local Three store have got their act together. Just got my replacement nano sim and adaptor. Guy said they only had three adaptors left so was lucky!

T-Mobile just email me to say my phone would be dispatched within 30 days of release.

I've cancelled and going to re-order with 3.

Woke up at around 08:30. Had a 'triple S'. Got some coffee, logged onto Apple site, pre-ordered the iPhone 5, without a single hitch. #LikeABaus
