What are we Apple pre-order Non-O2 (that's a mouthful) going to do when we actually have the phone? What is the process to transfer to the new Nano Sim?

I exclude O2 because their website allows you to swap SIMs.

You can call up or transfer it online. Might see if I can get a nano-to-micro adapter so I can have it all set up for next friday.

I've just ordered a giff gaff sim and intend to trim it to fit the iPhone 5. I can't see any drawbacks to giff gaff at this point. £10 for 250 mins will do me nicely!:)

They're currently in discussions with their community about capping the data £10 at 750mb, if that'll affect you.

Just got off the phone with CARPHONE WAREHOUSE and ordered the 64gig in black without any problem on 02.. guaranteed to be delivered on the 21st.. fingers crossed...

Just called o2 to request my PAC code as was looking to move to Three to 600mins - 5000 txts and Unlimited DATA.

They instantly offered me Unlimited Txts and Calls, 500Mb date = 15.50 per month, 1 month Contact. Or same but 1gB, 12month contract = £20 per month.

Just spoken to someone at my local 3 store. She took my details and said if I go in tomorrow morning she will put a preorder of a 32gb black through for me for pickup next Friday. :)

Sounds good to me.

I walked in to my local 3 store at lunch time today and pre-ordered a Black 32GB (early upgrade - had to pay off the remaining three months). I pick it up on Friday morning of next week. Sweet! Selling my 16GB 4s to Envirofone for £270 as I can't be bothered trying to sell it privately.

Thanks for that. It will only affect me psychologically!! I hardly dent the 500mb/month I get from O2 at the moment as I have wifi for 95% of my time, but it would be nice to feel as though there were no restrictions on my data use. I'm sure that sounds daft!:)

The £10 giff gaff with a data cap would still be a much better deal than my current O2 PAYG deal. Shame it's the same company really. I don't feel O2 deserve my custom at the mo.

Spoke to O2 on online chat last night and they are apparently sending me one out. He assured me it was a nano sim when i asked if he was just gonna send me a micro sim by mistake, so we will see!

Don't hold your breath, Zimpaz. I had an equally garbled conversation with an O2 online agent yesterday, but where the word "micro sim" was not mentioned once, but iPhone 5 was a lot. Got home today to a package. My new sim!

My new MICRO sim.

*bangs head against wall*

Never got a chance to order from Apple until 11am. Delivery showing as 1st Oct. Based on previous launches are these usually right, I plan on giving it to the middle of next week and if there is no movement, I'm going to cancel it and chance my arm buying in the Apple store. Got two in Glasgow now. When I bought my 4 sim free, I had no problems getting one on launch day.

Looking at Three, as with all sim only contracts Quidco offers good deals on cashback, Untimate Internet Sim 600 £15.90 a months, gives £75 so equivalent cost is £9.65 a month over 12 months.

Trading in 4S, which I have a guaranteed £260 from until 26th Sept. Only thing with this is I need my iPhone 5 to come before then, suppose I could suffer a basic phone for a few days though.

For anyone like me wanting to get a nano sim from O2. They just tweeted this:

"Need a nano sim? Buy iPhone 5 from O2 and it’s included. Buying elsewhere? O2 stores will have them from launch day too."

Part of the point of buying my phone from Apple to be delivered was so I didn't have to stand in a giant queue at a shop on launch day. Sigh.

Yes, I know it's alway been there! I only put my post up because sandyjmacdonald said it had been removed.

Ok. Here's the full explanation. When I ordered on the Apple Store iPhone app at 8.05 this morning, before checking out, when it listed what I'd ordered it said that there was a lightning dock connector adaptor (to convert from the old 30 pin connector) included free of charge with the iPhone 5. Others have mentioned this as well, some might not have spotted it in the rush of preordering. Here's some more explanation from TNW.

yep my thoughts exactly. i supose i will have to leave my phone at home charging while i drive 20 miles to the nearest o2 store and cue in the rain! oh yea it will rain it always does when your queing outside lmao

Been following this thread since day 1 so I thought I'd chime in with my situation.

Ordered a 32GB Black iPhone 5 this morning and just ordered a fresh pay-monthly nano-sim from Three; 200 mins, 5000 texts and unlimited data @ £12.90/month. It's a rolling month so I can leave anytime I like if a better deal comes up or if Three's signal turns out to be **** when I move to uni in two weeks.

£599 + (£12.90 x 24) - £25 Quidco Cashback = £883.60 over the two years.

The equivalent of getting a free 32GB iPhone with unlimited data for £36/month.

Any guesses as to how difficult moving my number from my soon to be defunct Orange contract to my new sim will be?

I have done exactly the same as you :)

I asked about a nano SIM in the local Vodafone shop. I was told "We'll have them on launch day. Maybe earlier, but on launch day for sure."

Now waiting for customer service to return my call so that I can order one through the post.

anyone order a nano sim from t-mobile? just rang as i have a sim only deal and need just a nano sim, that they cant sell any until the 21st?!?

As I can't seem to get a straight answer from Three:

Can I get a nano sim card and transfer my current monthly rolling contract to it? I'm sure we were able to do this with micro sim.

So I purchased something and it didn't come with something it said it would?

Ordered at 10:20am and just logged onto the apple store and delivery is estimated 2 Oct - 8 Oct
