well I've never had an issue with their service at all. I live in the middle of nowhere in west Wales and three is the only network that offers 3G here. but it's faster than my internet at home and it's unlimited and free tethering! so I'm very happy with them :)

Also in West Wales and very happy with 3 for your exact same reasons :)

I didn't get chance to pre order my iPhone through T-Mobile this morning. Going to be heading down on Friday morning to my local T-Mobile store and hoping for the best!

So, after asking for a nano sim from O2 and getting a(nother) micro sim from them today, i ventured back into the confusing world of their online chat thingy. It was once again confusing and mostly pointless:

info: Welcome to O2. Someone will be with you soon. *

*We're really busy right now. Thanks for waiting. If you're after the latest information on the iPhone 5 please go here

info: You are now chatting with Henry.
Henry: Hi I'm Henry. How can I help?
newcode: Hi.
newcode: Yesterday I spoke to someone on here and asked for a nano sim card to be sent to me.
newcode: However, today a micro sim card arrived.
Henry: This will be deliver on 21/09/2012
newcode: I already have a micro sim card!
Henry: Because nano SIM will available with O2 on 21/09/2012
newcode: Yesterday I was told I would be sent one. Are you saying that was wrong?
Henry: Yes
Henry: As nano SIM is not available with O2 right now.
Henry: Otherwise you can take the SIM card *from any O2 store without charges
newcode: So there is no way I can get one before the 21st, when there will be giant queues out the door of all your shops?
Henry: So you require to update your details to the below link
Henry: http://www.o2.co.uk/iphone/iphone-5
Henry: Then as soon as we've the SIM card arrives we'll send to you the address whcih you'll provisde on the link
Henry: Full pricing information for iPhone 5 is available at http://www.o2.co.uk/iphone/iphone-5/retail
newcode: Ok. I don't need the iPhone as I am buying that from Apple. I only need a nano sim.
Henry: Okay
Henry: So you need to contact us back on 20/09/2012
newcode: And you'll be able to send me a sim then?
Henry: Yes and this is without any charges
newcode: Ok. Thanks. Bye.
Henry: Have a wonderful weekend:)

I'll pop into a store at some point next week and see if they have anyone in there who speaks English as a first language who might know what I'm on about.

Looks like im gonna have to queue at the Birmingham or Solihull apple store :(

Ordered at 10:20am and just logged onto the apple store and delivery is estimated 2 Oct - 8 Oct

maybe because i added a extra lightening cable?

Probably. Cancel the Lightning cable and reorder it separately and the delivery date should improve.

they just did the same to me... i ordered at like 8:10!

is anywhere stiil taking orders for delivery on the 21st and how easy is it to cancel?

agghh help!!

What the hell? I am getting worried now. I got my confirmation email from t-mobile at 8.08 and so far have had no further contact. Do you live in Out in the sticks and maybe they are covering themselves incase they can't get to you on launch day?

i live in milton keynes so not in the sticks and its a generic email that everyone gets once they do a credit check... the ppl on the phone say they dont give dates just a generic within 30 days of release.

suppose it means it could be friday but im starting to doubt it! why not give a date to ppl who ordered early and push it back as they sell out??

I;ve gone with T-Mobile in the end and the 64gb version since it was only £50 more, havnt had an email yet. But its says within 30 days, I guess it can still arrive next friday?

They don't yet know the allocation they will receive, so this is to cover them. Phones are allocated on a first come, first served basis, as and when stock comes available.

I spoke to an Orange CSR today, trying to find out a rough time it would be delivered so I could book time off, as Orange will only deliver to the billing address, not my work one. He couldn't tell me for the same reason.

Well.......... after waiting ALL DAY for O2 to release thier pre-orders (they still haven't...!!!!!!:eek::eek:) I decided to follow someone else's advice and do my upgrade thorugh Phones4U.

Went for the 16gb in black @ £41 a month.

Had to pay £29.99 up front for the phone but I'm happy with that and will also be receiving the following accessories, FREE I might add, as part of my bundle:

clear screen protector
cleaning solution
clear iphone 5 case
stylus
usb car charger
desktop stand

All to be delivered by Royal Mail special delivery on Sept 21st:D:D

What a complete waste of a day waiting for O2 to release their pre-orders..............

I suggest others do the same as according to the O2 forums (where I have been lurking since 9am this morning) pre-orders aint gonna be happening today!!

All O2 keep upating people with (since 8am this morning) is , 'Pre-orders are coming soon'!!

What a joke....................:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ah right ok that makes sense.. just panicing probably

just see a lot of people on here with actual delivery dates on there respective sites, made me think i had done something wrong.

suppose ill just sit back and wait for a update, the CSR i spoke to said we should get an email/text closer to the delivery date re when we can expect them.

by any chance ypou dont know at what point i can cancel my order? if it is 30 days i wanna cancel and take my chances queing up :D

Bought from apple direct at 8:25am this morning, says shipping 21/9....phoned orange, cant get nano sim yet......so cancelled my Sim only contract.....got PAC code.....got nano sim from 3 delivered to me on monday 17th sept @£12.90 a month.....job done :)

Seems to be a big shift of people moving to Three from other providers this time around. That's what happens when you plan things in advance - O2 take note!

I got the iPad3 on launch and they were all shipped from the UK, have a look at the UK ipad 3 thread from months back.

The same goes for the 4S, they all come from Cork, Ireland and are distributed to the couriers on the mainland.

Yet I think my iPad 3 didn't show that it had shipped until the Friday morning! Still received it early Friday afternoon though.
I think I had to pick up my iPhone 4, because they were too busy to send it!

My iPad 3 was sent from the UK by Syncreon and UK Mail.

My iPhone 4S and 4 were shipped from China.

I've just spoken to Apple Customer Service about the lightning dock adaptor. They say it was an error on their part, has been corrected now, and that no free adaptors will be supplied. I pushed it a bit, and argued that what I've ordered isn't what is being supplied and that I specifically didn't order an adaptor because I thought I was getting one included for free, and that I'll now have to wait until October to get one. They said that they've had lots of similar complaints and are working on resolving it by Monday. They should have more information by then.

Oh dear, legally, I believe I paid for it - in that I was led to believe that it was included. The words were explicit in that, "Your iPhone includes a Lightening to 30-pin Adapter for connecting accessories and devices featuring the Lightening connector.".

I will await further advice from Apple as and when it comes.

The people with actual dates have ordered from Apple, who obviously do know how much stock is allocated :)

As for cancelling your order, I can't speak for T-Mo, but with Orange the distance selling lets you cancel up to 14 days after receiving your order.

Orange said:
If you purchased the goods as a consumer and not for business use, you have the right to cancel this contract. To do so you must contact us within 14 days of receipt of the goods.

I've ordered the same nano sim deal from 3. Will be phoning O2 when it's quieter for my PAC code.

Yep I'm moving over to Three also. There service on the phone also was excellent. Hope the good customer experience lasts!

anyone order a nano sim from t-mobile? just rang as i have a sim only deal and need just a nano sim, that they cant sell any until the 21st?!?

I called them and started a new contract, a 30 day rolling sim only so I can cancel at at time for £15. Get 1.5GB Data, 350mins and either 5000 or unlimited texts - fantastic deal I think!

She said they can't give nano sims yet, and told me to go down on Friday to a store and ask them for one, they'll do the work there and then :)

So pleased to be finally moving away from O2. I was paying £35 a month for 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500MB data. Get absolutely no 3G in my area whereas T-Mobile do! :D

That works out pretty well, its worth noting that Phones4u seem to do pretty much all the networks as upgrades too and at the moment seems to be the best and only way to bag a phone on launch with o2 right this minute.

o2 really have messed up!

Just ordered the white 64gb on three, due for delivery on the 21st. :D

I'm really surprised that anywhere still has stock available. Did Apple increase the numbers produced, or is demand not as high this time around?

eta: Does anyone know when Apple will start stocking films and cases for the IP5?

It is puzzling how O2 have been so lackadaisical about the whole launch. Maybe they're trying to shift some customers off their subscriber bill.

I'm going to go with Orange tomorrow. They have a good deal for the 64Gb iPhone 5.
No rush. EE will then sort out the 4GEE soon enough and I'll get to keep my old number... Happy. ;)
