I don't know if anyone is keeping up with the O2 forums these days, but just had some great news from the Community Manager on there who says that we'll be able to get Nano Sims before the 21st for those who have ordered elsewhere. Positive news for us on O2 thankfully! http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Apple-iOS-Devices-iPhone-iPad/iPhone-5-Nano-Sim/td-p/281348/page/20

If you currently have a Three pay monthly contract for your iPhone and are buying an iPhone 5 from say Apple direct like me you can call 333 and get a free pay monthly nano-sim card to transfer you number over to. :D

I tried to walk in to a Three store to get one yesterday but the three sales rep said they weren't able to sell them until 21st:rolleyes: tbh he didn't have a clue about most things.

Anyway, just now called up and have one being shipped out ready for my pre-ordered iPhone 5 16gb Black.:) I'm on a 2-3wk delivery estimate though:(

Just spoke to vodafone on the phone and they told me the nano sim isnt released yet ? lol
he the told me that if i required one to pick it up in store on friday, or order it online on friday and it will be sent within 24 hours, pretty useless you would think they would try and sort everything out for release and make it easy for their customers.

Now on friday they will have a line for both the iPhone 5 and for the nano sim

That's exactly what they told me on the phone, you will see the transcript from the livechat in the other thread on here titled "the great uk nano sim swap"

Don't take no for an answer, go through their livechat on the website.

I pre ordered my iPhone 5 32GB yesterday at 8.25am UK time by going on the Apple store on safari on my iPhone and now it shows in order status "preparing for shipment" 21/09
I rang Vodafone and requested a nano sim and they said it should come to my address within 2 working days!!

So I am all ready for Friday, can't wait!'

I found an alright deal from Phones 4 U.

£99 upfront for 16GB, paying £36 a month for 2 years. With this, I get unlimited everything and 1GB of data a month; I'm also on O2, so I actually get decent signal.

I chose white. Phones 4 U is giving a dispatch estimate of September 21st, but I'm expecting it to be dispatched on September 28th, based on what Apple is saying.

I hope that's true as I have phoned three O2 stores and they have all said I'll have to queue on the 21st with everyone else!

Spoke to guy at my local Three store. Was really helpful and said he had loads of nano sims and I can come in and get them any time I want! He even offered to hold 4 for me just in case!

Pre-ordered online with T-Mobile at 08:10 yesterday but did not get confirmation email.

Just phoned and they had not processed my order :(

They have now processed it but I am at the back of the queue :(

Still no confirmation from Orange, however I can see that my next upgrade date is late 2014, so they must have it in the system somewhere.

I'm in exactly the same position as you. I spoke with orange yesterday and they said that because money was taken from my card, and my account shows my contract expires sept 2014 now (my contract ran out in July before i ordered) that the order has gone through.
I too have had no text, email or nothing. The funny thing is, i know people who registered with orange as new customers, and they've had the confirmation texts and emails. I cant' help but think that exisisting customers (upgraders) are getting shafted here, and that new customers are getting priority.

I tried calling Orange this morning to try and sort this out and got a message saying a representetive will be with me in 2 hours

It took me 30 mins for orange's site to become available. Apple store was down too. Managed to finish my order at 8:43 with orange, iPhone 5 64GB. I really hope it was within time for the initial stock. Not going to be pleased if I don't get it on the 21st :-(

Got my PAC code from O2 today ....... took nearly 40 mins via the chat window as had to wait ages to be transferred to retentions. They tried to keep me but could offer nothing to keep me from changing to Orange after being on O2 since the first iPhone!

I did exactly the same, tired of O2's spotty network. It might be 'grass is never greener' but EE seems ahead of the network game. There were massive waiting times yesterday on Orange upgrade/preorder lines. Sometimes upto 2hours!

My 16GB Black order on T-Mobile seems to have gone through fine. My only concern is the latest email that states:

"If you have selected the iPhone 5 we aim to get your new phone to you within 30 days of launch."

Really hope that isn't the case!?

Currently sat on hold with o2 to get my PAC code. 25 minutes and counting!

how do you get to speak to live chat ive been waiting on the support page but nothing is popping up

Ive been trying to get onto a live chat for about an hour now. Apparently if you add something to your basket then remove it, it will trigger the online chat.

Although it hasn't worked for me yet :(

Just been to Merry Hill in Brierley Hill. No one at O2, Orange, T-mobile, Three or Carphone warehouse had any sims or knew when they were getting any. Now I'm concerned I'll get my iPhone Friday but not be able to use it. Any suggestions? I'm getting the phone delivered but am away Friday (so the wife will sign for it) but I can't get to a store. I can try back on Wednesday/Thursday I guess. Not feeling hopefully though. I'm currently on Simplicity but am thinking of switching. Trouble is the phone signal is good where I live and that's the number one concern for me.

----------

And I've just gone preparing for shipping! Yeah!

Spent over an hour on livechat last night, spoke to someone who told me they needed to transfer me to the 'shop' to get a PAC and then put me on 'hold' for over an hour before kicking me off telling me to try again later

Tried again this morning and after another half hour wait they told me that they are no longer give PAC's over online chat, only over the phone; from what I've heard it's taking well over an hour on the phone to hand over PACs now and you have to put up with someone pleading with you to stay. I guess they're hoping people will give up.

All very annoying, am more convinced by my decision to move away from o2 now than I was 24 hours ago.

Is there any information on what the pre-order situations are? Presumably all carriers have sold out of their initial stock and quoting post-21st delivery now?

I had this problem when I moved from O2 to Giffgaff last year. Was on hold for just over an hour. Pathetic customer service.

Luckily getting my PAC code from Giffgaff was very easy, phone a number, dial 2 then 1 and 1 again. Job done. They give you your PAC.

Wait till middle of next week, should be fine then.
