I went to a couple of local phone shops (3 and Phones 4U) today to be told they didnt have any nano-micro adapters left.

I just ordered 2 online (A couple of quid each) which means when my 3 nano sims arrive I can stick 'em in our current 4's and get the nano sim activated in time for the phone arriving on Friday.

Those who have ordered a contract + iphone with Orange, What does their order say when you track it?

Mine says "order being readied for despatch" I phoned earlier but they advised that its just a first come first serve basis and the phone could be delivered up to 30 days after 21st September!

Paul

How are you tracking your order? When I go to this website and enter my order number (XX111111111, i.e. two letters followed by nine numbers) it says it's not a valid order number. This order number was given to me when I finished the transaction online, and by the looks of things it might be for email / phone support only. Where can I find my actual order number?

Thanks.

Mine says 'The number you entered is not a valid Orange Shop order number. Please try again.' :(

Interesting, I don't think I've received a confirmation email, but I got a similar number on the website which came up following my order: "You've preordered", followed by my order and a reference number. Maybe it doesn't work until we get an email, which begs the question - why haven't I got one yet?

To save me the bother of travelling all the way to a three store (My nearest one is 15 miles away), I am just cancelling my current 1 month rolling sim only contract and getting a new one.

200 Minutes (Meh, never call anyone :p)
5000 Texts
All you can eat data + tethering

£17, seems a good deal to me.

I'll be switching to Everything Everywhere / EE as soon as there 4G Sim Only plans are out (And when LTE goes live in my city, Leicester, next year).

I've half a mind to complain about the way Orange have been with all of this. All I'm being told is they can't check whether my upgrade went through or not, until next friday yet my friend took out a brand new contract with them and phoned up and she was told everything about her order. Feels like theyre definitely favouring new customers over those that have been with them years.

I also haven't received a confirmation email yet.

I went for the same deal but without the tethering so I'm £12.90 a month rolling 1 month contract.

Will be adding the tethering soon though as I'm currently paying a tenner a month for my iPad 2 sim.

The good thing about the 1 month rolling contract is that it means we can always be on the best deal.

I ordered at around midday and got the "We are checking your order" e-mail at 12:10 then I received confirmation of my order with my order number at 1:30, starts by saying your order is confirmed and ready to go.

If you haven't received this second e-mail I would make sure your order went through. When I ordered mine it took a long time for the site to update so I wasn't convinced my order went through however everything looks to be confirmed now.

Online yesterday morning at 8.55. Havent received anything other that the 'Your upgrade will be with you on 17/09/2012.' Which was a mistake.
Ordered via phone and then exactly the same as you. I'll ring them on Monday when things might be less insane.

Is yours a new contract or an upgrade. I phoned up yesterday to check if it had gone through and they said they couldn't check until friday! So i'll have to sit waiting around til then only to find out something was wrong, then I wont get the phone for ages. I hope my new contract doesn't start until I actually get the phone.

Yep.

I used to be on a 18month contract before my iPhone 4S. That sucked, a lot. Rubbish deal and costed twice as much per month + cancellation fee to upgrade early.

Paying a crap load to get out of my contract and get on a sim only deal for my 4S is the best choice I could of made, it's MUCH better than pay as you go or a long contract, and so cheap. The only downside ofcourse is the £500 for the new phone every year or two, but you can sell your old iPhone for £300 so it isn't too bad. Love it :D

Just asked those OrangeHelpers on twitter and they say that upgrades is on a different system and they cant check on that straight away. What a load of rubbish.

Apologies forgot to state, this is a brand new contract, I'm moving from O2.

I assumed that the iPhones will be shipped on Monday or Tuesday?

I would imagine the factories and warehouses in china shipping the iPhone 5 will be working 24/7 for the next few weeks. Not really a time to slack off and close at weekends when you've got millions of iPhones to ship.

I seem to remember activity on saturday and sunday on one or two of my previous ipad/iphone orders, but I may be wrong I guess.

Still... i'd be very surprise if there was no activity at the warehouse on Saturday and Sunday. There are couriers that work weekends too, but yes I guess it's possible that they will be sent monday. But i'm hoping for later today or sunday.

So I bought a 16GB Black, due 1st of October (2nd wave of shipments).

It looks like I'll be getting a Three SIM-Only contract. Why?

- Only network to get their crap together with the Nano-SIM
- Simply the best deals for SIM-Only contracts
- Supposedly going to buy some of EE's 4G spectrum, hence 4G usable

I am with O2 Pay & Go Text and Web at the moment but it looks like they're scrapping that in favour of "Pay & Go Go Go" which, make no mistake, is a much worse deal. Reduced data allowance from 500MB per £10 monthly top-up to just 100MB. You have to wait 6 or 9 months for that to double to 200MB.. what a joke.

Giff-Gaff are tripping over themselves too so whilst they probably offer the single best deal for £10 a month, they won't be at all ready in time.

No idea about Tesco Mobile, does anyone know any details there? I'm looking at PAYG or SIM-Only deals.

Thanks!

I don't know anything about Tesco's price plans, but Tesco piggyback on O2's network, so you won't see any speeds like you'll see on Three. I highly recommend Three.

This thread concerns me greatly... I couldn't order mine until about 3:20pm, so you can imagine my surprise when I received a text saying I woul have it on Wednesday.
Having my wife book the day off work Wednesday so be annoying if it doesn't come!

My concern is I haven't received ANY email. Not that I don't have a second, I don't have a first!
Got a text as soon as I ordered then another today saying I'd be told when it was on its way.

I am due for an upgrade with 3. Pre ordered iPhone 5 32gb
One off fee of £89 and £39 a month thereafter.
On 'The One Plan' Which is (if you don't know):
  • All-you-can-eat data
  • 2000 any network minutes
  • 5000 Three-to-Three minutes
  • 5000 texts
  • Tethering included

P.S. Anyone know how the nano-sim activation is working for 3 upgrades ordered online?
