Just phoned them, I was expecting to be on hold for ages but actually got through straight away. My order isn't showing on their system yet (even though I've got confirmation email), they said right now it can take up to a couple of hours but if I call back later and before 5:00pm then they should be able to change it to Saturday delivery (charging me £7.50).

I just worked my way through the online order process again (http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/APPLE_IPHONE_5S_64GB?stop_mobiyes&portal=AWIN&promo=87027) and still can't see anywhere to select a Saturday delivery option.

I think the point is that although it may be a fact, making a point of mentioning it suggests it's of particular relevance. Most scalpers are probably also male and have two legs, but those attributes didn't get mentioned - just their ethnic origin.
 
I appreciate they maybe Asian and it is a fact but does is actually matter?

Does that particular fact need to be so explicitly stated? Does it change what they're doing or create further frustration based on their ethncity?

A scalper is a scalper right? And the topic being thoroughly discussed in this thread is about a purchase of a phone not a particular 'race' causing frustration amongst us genuine buyers.

Ok cheers, but don't Three add £15 onto your bill to unlock? I'm sure they do...

Also, I can only find the iPhone on contract with CPW. Was this what you did?
 
Milton Keynes had stock this morning but was all gone when I arrived at 10:30am. Shame as I saw someone setting up their phone so must have only just run out.

You just know if the profiteers hadn't got them there would still be stock now. It's only so bad because online orders still haven't shipped and they know if they take all the stock the only way to get one is via eBay.
 
Gold via EE

I ordered my Gold 32Gb on EE through Phones4U on Friday 20th, sales guy on phone said it would be delivered Friday 27th (today!). I got an email from them this week saying delivery had been pushed back until 4th October. Rang them up and their system said it would actually be delivered 11th October.

Went online to EE direct and ordered same phone same contract at 11:30pm last night and just had a text from UKMail to say it is being delivered tomorrow.

There seems to be no sense whatsoever to this process. I'm a bit "believe it when I see it" but UKMail has consignment number live on their system and delivery date of Saturday 28th.
 
I must be a ****ing idiot because I can't find the 5S without contract anywhere on the CPW site. Even in the above link.
 
CPW still have no 64GB gold stock but at least they don't have the £50 markup now. When they do get stock for next day delivery, if there's still no movement on the Apple order, it will be very tempting as I'm already with Three. Strange that Apple would prefer to make less profit by supplying people through CPW rather than their own store though.

They only add it direct to your bill if you unlock on contract (which you can't do until 60 days into your contract). If you do it on payg, they'll call you within 2 working days to take payment direct from your card.

Do you know if they had any Gold ones and if so what capacities? I was only there yesterday afternoon :-(

And me agrees.
Just because someone says 'not to be racist, but stating the fact', doesn't mean it really isn't racist.

To be fair, we all want to get an iphone asap. I'd rather sitting in an office everyday comfortably, waiting for extra few days, than stupidly queuing up for ages. Scalping is a labour work.

Phoned both in the last 20 mins:
Birmingham have 32 and 64GB Space Grey in stock. Could not reserve over the phone and they thought it unlikely that any would left after the hour it would take me to get there.

Solihull - On hold, counts downs calls ahead then silence again:confused:

So I'm still holding out on my online 7-10 Oct order.
 
People please stop calling them asian scalpers. You wouldn't call them white scalpers if they were all white, hence its racism imo.

Its naughty what they're doing but I'm not incensed by it, people are obviously willing to pay them for them. What is annoying imo is that stores are getting restock before us that ordered at midnight. That's a bit off but I also get why - we are the guys who stayed up, we are the hardcore, they know we'll wait. People popping into stores maybe less likely.

Also I don't believe the 9M includes us yet

Not sure if it's the only stock they get, but every time they've had any in so far, it's been in time for the store opening in the morning and they're sold by 9:30.

Not sure if it's during the night, very early morning, or late afternoons he day before with stock beinheld until the next day.

Sadly, don't think you'll have any chance at lunchtime. On Wednesday, the queue was 150 long by 8:30.
