UK iPhone 5s and 5c Thread

My gold 64gb still processing and no sign of funds being taken or pending from my credit card :(

Went onto Apple chat earlier this afternoon to ask for estimate on likely dispatch date and got unhelpful person - told me to check status of my order online and go by those dates. He told me about the 9 million orders blah blah so I said that's fine but I was very disappointed and couldn't understand why stock seemed to be getting prioritised/diverted to stores over online orders like mine that were placed at 00.01 on the 20th. He basically avoided responding to me and told me to enjoy my new iPhone. So I left him crap feedback which have never done. Usually even if they can't give you definitive info they try at least to be helpful! Mind you they are prob getting sick of the queries!

Link does not work for me, just takes me to the CPW homepage... If you drill down to iphone 5s the only options I see are home delivery or store delivery... No option to reserve or check availability.

What steps are you following?

You do realize that a company like Apple actually has contractual obligations to fulfill, or think that they are shipping to CPW out of fun? And by the way, why on earth don't you order from CPW? I tell you why: because they are selling a DIFFERENT PRODUCT, so no, Apple is not shipping the same product his "own customers" are waiting for, as they were told they would be, to other companies.

"basic common sense"? Sorry to be blunt, but you have no idea on how a retail business is operated. The last thing you want is to leave employees with discretionary power, procedures are EVERYTHING to get a retail store up and running in a good and fair way. It's all about procedures, the instant you don't enforce them the ****** hits the fan. And seriously, can you imagine even one, and i say one, customer in the world being laid off because one of the thousands apple store boys made a "basic common sense" mistake? It would be front page news with everyone harassing Apple.

I really just don't get it: 1) order an unlocked phone from Apple and wait the time they told you you would be waiting. 2) order from one of the other companies and have it locked, right now, then if you want start the process to unlock. 3) go out and queue.

Where's the part we are supposed to whine?
 
Well having been pressing command-r for half an hour... I thought I'd just have a mooch at the Trafford Centre, Apple Store... tease myself with the 5S's.

So the store's very quiet, no one around the iPhone tables. I was
just casually playing with a 5S and a Store Assistant came and stood near me. I casually asked when they were getting them in stock... "Oh we have a few left, just Grey 32GB and 64GB"

I bought my 64GB Grey there and then - in and out in literally 5 minutes. Unbelievable.

Online order cancelled.

I know right?! This was going through my mind while she was taking payment.
Would have sold the other one I suppose.

Cancelled as soon as I left the store. Forgot to pick up a nano sim from O2 in my excitement though. Doh!
 
16GB Silver, ordered at 11:59 on 19th, now Preparing for Dispatch, woohoo! :)

Anyone know of stock in Aberdeen? Was thinking of going early tomorrow morning, as I'm guessing it isn't a very busy store....
 
So anyway, if anyone is 5 minutes to the Trafford Centre as I was...

64 and 32 Grey, few left in stock. (As of 45 minutes ago). Might be worth a shot if you're after either of those.

I was thinking of going over today but I want a gold one, did they say if they were getting anymore stock in at all?
 
Boy... Finally! Mine changed to 'Preparing for Dispatch'. 16GB Silver and 16GB Gold, ordered at 00:05 on 19th. But the delivery date is still 7~10th Oct.

I am already exhausted. :eek:

I've now got 3 iPhones on the way to me - my original Apple order which I can't now cancel, my online order with CPW which they told me had "vanished" but now appears to have appeared again, and the over-the-phone order I placed with CPW in the meantime. That's £2100 hitting my credit card!

can someone tell me if the order is shipped and i receive the iPhone. can i just return it? will i be charged or something? if the phone is box packed same as it comes from apple and i return it then?
