Thanks... When I click on the link it still takes me to homepage, however.... If I cut and paste the link it works!

Not sure how accurate it is though as I called one of the stores that says it is in stock.... They told me they did not have any and they had to "order them in"

My first posting, but I've been following this thread with interest. I just bought a 5S space grey 64gb at a Carphone Warehouse in Kensington, London. The CPW site shows stock levels at the various stores. Quite painless. 02 apparently does free unlocking according to this article, so hopefully all will be ok.

Careful if you're going through O2 to unlock - some people have reported that they're not yet unlocking 5S handsets (supposedly to put off scalpers buying, unlocking for free and selling on). They might have changed that now, but be aware that they may not unlock just yet.

And happy days for everyone seeing some movement on their order!

can someone tell me if the order is shipped and i receive the iPhone. can i just return it? will i be charged or something? if the phone is box packed same as it comes from apple and i return it then?

Yeah distance selling regulations allow you to return it if unused.

Ok, some movement on the first batch of uk preorders!

I am glad to see some movement on my Space Grey iPhone 5S 16gb order. Although slightly irritated that I didn't catch the train to Birmingham now that there has been confirmation of some stock in Space Grey, as was my original intention when I finished work at 1300.

Did this last year, no problem at all. Couldn't make up my mind what colour to get, so ordered one of each, then returned the one I didn't want. (Unopened I should add).

Have to say, I might still find myself returning one again this year. Silver 16GB now preparing for dispatch, so can't cancel, but still a bit tempted to get a 32GB grey from CPW and just return the silver.

Mine's still processing (64gb silver ordered at 00:02), but at least we're seeing some movement with online orders now!

Hope mine changes soon! And also that they don't sit on "preparing for dispatch" for another week! Lol

Interestingly, the amount has not been charged to my card despite being prepared for dispatch (not even as a pending transaction).

CPW just phoned me saying that I expressed interest in the 5s, asking me if I would like to buy from them. I told him that it was unfair to charge more than Apple for most of the versions and that I wouldn't be buying from them again. He said he would find out why, then came back on the phone and blamed the networks for fixing their sim-free prices. I think there's a bit of lying going on there. Surely the networks can only decide on the prices for their own contracts.

It seems they just don't want to admit to setting the prices higher themselves to take advantage of the stock shortages elsewhere.

Space grey 64GB ordered at around 12.03 Preparing for Shipment. (I'll spare you the screen shot).

I just rang CPW to do the same with the 32GB grey.

I was told they are out of stock but might get some next week.

Think I was lied to, because he also said, that the Gold colour option doesn't officially get released till 4th October, LOL.

Back to the waiting game now...

Sorry to hear that, I was just lucky then........they do have gold in stock as he tried to sell me a gold 64gb one but I can't afford that, I went for the space grey 32gb simply because a. 32gb is what I want and b. it's not more expensive than apple (they were adding a extra £50 to gold and siver models)

can you tell at what time did you order?

Ordered right on at 12.00 and no movement on my 32gb gold. Yet people who ordered later have movement.

Amazing apple you ****s.

Do you know how many 16GB Space Grey models they have left?

Ok, so the staff told me they have "a few" 16gb, and "quite a lot" of 32 and 64gb models. Space grey only. I just walked out with a 32gb and cancelled my online store order.

If you want one tonight, go to shepherds bush Westfield (White City)

My 32GB Grey now PFD too - ordered at 00:00 and 19th Sept confirmation. Just back from Braehead where the notice was up saying sold out. Asked the guy who was selling me my Time Capsule if they had any and they had some 16GB Grey left - so it's always worth asking I guess. Too small for me sadly.

How big is the queue at Brent Cross?Did they give you an idea of their stock levels?
Hopefully some left this evening - doubtful I know.

Disappointed they have delivered today, because less likely they will deliver over the weekend. It'll be very frustrating if they don't deliver tomorrow. Surely Apple realise that there is only a minority of genuine customers coming on weekdays, as a lot of us can't get time of work. All they are doing is giving more supply to the scalpers, I can't believe it's so bad in the UK

Really sorry I didnt see this earlier. They had them all lined up on a counter, must have been about 20-30 left when I walked out at 10:30, no real queue as well only 5-10 people.

They guy serving me was actually really annoyed about the scalpers, even while he was dealing with me, he spotted a guy who had already bought 2 and apparently changed his t-shirt and took off his cap. But by the time he got to the person serving him, his sale had gone through.

Heres the tough thing. This scalper was Asian, maybe he thought that a simple change of outfit would fool the staff. But at the table next to me was an Asian guy, buying a single handset and setting it up there and then, so you can never tell.

Also, with such a short queue, it must be tempting to go back and try your luck again.
