Just checked my credit card and apple let go of the holding of funds, yet my order still says processing?
same here. just chatted with apple store support. they say it's ok and the payment will be normally taken once it's despatched
I am an international student studying in UK, Sheffield. I moved to Sheffield 2 weeks ago and now has no phone to use for 2 weeks. I'm thinking to buy an iPhone in contract with Three, instead of waiting one from Apple. I ordered a gold 32GB one.
I have asked other mobile phone carriers about buying the phone (i.e. EE) but I'm not able to buy one in contract with a reason that I'm too new to UK (they said). Only Three I can get one.
Is it good to go with Three? I'm not sure about signal quality- 2g, 3G. Many people complain about it. Is there any idea? Please advice. Thx.
I've just moved to Three from O2. Definitely lower signal, but strangely faster 3G speeds. One thing to note Three do not have 2G service. It's 3G (or HSDPA+, etc.) or nothing.
I'm happy enough so far, but I never tie myself into contracts. It's an expensive thing to do. Much cheaper to buy the iPhone from Apple and get a SIM only plan. Obviously that comes with a hefty upfront cost, though.
You should be fine with Three, and you get 7 days to test signal anyway if it's bad, you can cancel your contract in these 7 days.
That's useful info and fits with delivery estimates. Flight presumably arrives UK late 30th/early 1st and allows a day or so for distribution to regional depots. Also gives hope to those whose phones haven't left Apple's warehouses yet, as there's time to make that 30th Sept flight.
It makes you realise how big the air freight market is! OK so cost of components in a phone is ~$200, but people forget these types of costs. They all add up.
Excellent. They should be coming on that flight then. Cologne to UK normally fly daily at around 2am or 4am if I remember correctly. So they should be here on 1st, taking upto another day for delivery.

My American Express hasn't been charged yet but often they don't till a few days after dispatch.

Click on track delivery on the Apple site. The Tracking Number (starting 1Z) is what you use if you are tracking by number. The reference number is what you use if you are tracking by reference.
This only works once it's despatched though.
Ours are now in Hong Kong apparently, so it certainly looks like yours will be on a different flight. That doesn't mean that you won't get it on Wednesday though. There's still time for them to catch up.
Credit. It initially went to pending transactions when I placed the order. Then the amount was released a couple of days ago. Now nothing is showing, despite the order being dispatched.
It really seems to just depend on the card. Mine only got charged the full amount yesterday for the first time when it went to preparing for shipping (there was probably a £2 checking charge on order but not the full amount).
It seems that different cards are treated different ways, and possibly even different transactions on different card types. Perhaps it depends on available credit as well.

My theory is Apple and UPS will get all the UK orders to USA and ship from there late monday (hopefully ). I'm pretty sure previous releases (maybe iPads) have shipped from China but we just haven't been able to track them until they are in Europe.
I'd be surprised if it went via the US, but I suppose anything is possible. If we are going to receive them on Wednesday then they don't need to get here until Tuesday, so there is still plenty of time. My guess is that they will ship to Europe on Monday and then perhaps there will be a delay whilst the carriers organise them. That still gives the chance of some units leaving Asia on Tuesday also joining them, but probably it's more likely that those not yet shipped will be delivered on Thursday.
I can't imagine anyone busting a gut to get them delivered on Wednesday as Thursday is well inside the delivery estimate.
