Sorry that they are not thumbnailed, I have never worked out how to do that when adding pictures.

Strangely, I get different options. Not sure if we're doing the same thing. I only get 1, 2 and 4 GB options and some of the upfront costs are £10 more expensive.

It's should have red text saying that they are offering 8 for 5. 5 for 3 GB.

This is because they can't offer us 4G until October. Correct?

Ahh yes, oops.
Not sure I really need 4G though.

lol... I keep going in circles with that myself. Yesterday I told myself that I'm quite happy with 3G at the moment, decent speed and unlimited data, and there's nothing wrong with my iPhone 5!

gonna stay off the internet for rest rest of the day, it keeps putting ideas into my mind!

I don't think that's the reason. They're just trying to lure you in. I think you get £5 credit for every month until Apple give them a software/carrier update.

Serial numbers for 5C orders now up in Apple profiles. My white 16GB manufactured week 35.

Really don't know what to do, I've been with o2 for over 10 years and their 3G coverage is awful. I was contemplating going to EE but my partner works for o2 so I get discount, comparing the 2 tariffs I'd pay £30 less for the handset and £10pm less than if I went for the one with EE. Seems good but I can't handle o2s coverage, I hardly ever have 3G with them as it is

I get a discount with VF but their tariffs are so high and their network performance so poor I have gone to Three where I get great speeds and unlimited data.

Yeah I think I'm finally going to leave o2, even with the discount which is good I hardly have any service. I know if I upgrade with them I'll regret it later down the line, atleast if I don't get along with EE I can say I've tried the network

Hey everyone, I'm really looking forward to getting a 5S but I'm wondering where to get it from, either the Apple online store or at an Apple retail store.

If I were to get it from the online store, when do you think they'll be sent out? I guess if they dispatched Friday it would arrive Monday if going through UPS. I'm worried they'll dispatch it a week later or something.

Many thanks :)

EE have an offer on their sim-only deals, which makes them look a lot more attractive!

£16pm for 1GB until 27th Sept. Still not 'amazing' but it's a a lot more enticing than £26! Or £21 for 3gb which seems pretty good.

http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-tariffs/pay-monthly/?plan=12-month-sim-only

Thanks so much for this!

It doesn't show any offers when browsing on mobile though. Will be heading into an EE shop tomorrow to get this deal.

Doubt they will drop it less than £16 a month in the near future - seems like the best sim only deal to have

So O2 are charging more for the handsets than sim free at Apple? 16/32/64GB priced sim free at Apple for £549/629/709 vs £600/699/769 on O2? Or am I missing something here?

It depends how you repay. If you take a 64gb and pay £319.99 up front, you end up paying 679.99 for the handset. Direct from apple is 709. The O2 one will be locked though... and you're stuck with them for 2 yrs.

24 months Duration of agreement

£319.99 Upfront cost
£360.00 Credit amount

EDIT- but I see your point. I don't see why anyone would pay £769 up front to O2 when they can get it cheaper from Apple. Although, if you look at the sim-only tariffs on O2, they're nowhere near as good as the 'refresh' contract ones- so you couldn't get 5GB of data for £27pm etc. Swings & roundabouts. they make it confusing on purpose!

I can't find many 'real world' info about O2's 4G. Anyone seen any decent reviews anywhere? Most of what I can find is from 'launch' day or soon after. Maybe it's not old enough.

On another topic, does anyone know if iPhone 5S will do voice and data at the same time on O2? I've tried EE on an iphone 5 and it seems to always drop data connections whenever I make a phone call. Not sure if that's to do with the phone itself or EE. Sometimes I like to browse mobile safari while on speakerphone etc. Not a deal breaker one way or the other but it would be nice to know... iphone 5 on O2 (3g obviously) has no problem doing voice & data at the same time...

I find my iPhone 4 does this too on EE. Though I find it works when I try and go on the Internet. Must just be some energy saving thing or something.

I am getting my 16 5c in Blue from vodafone,

unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and 1gb of data, £37per month, but i got them to waver the £20 i have to pay for the phone as i am an existing customer!

my question is... Are there any other existing vodafone customers who have managed to get a better deal?

Switching from android, this will be my first iPhone:D

The 32GB model costs £699 on Refresh - £70 more than with Apple. Given that sim only contracts are 12 months and cost £4-£5 more than the equivalent Refresh tariff, chances are that you will be very little worse off going unlocked + sim only over 24 months. I have also been told that O2 Open discount is not available for the 5S.

Finally, I note that O2 are only advertising the Gold 5s on their website.. does that suggest tight availability of the grey/silver versions?

It seems to vary significantly based on initial outlay:

32gb - £629 from Apple
£79.99 then £25/mth - total £679.99
£129.99 then £20/mth - total £609.99
£259.99 then £15/mth - total £619.99
£359.99 then £10/mth - total £599.99
£699.99 then £0/mth - total £699.99

I wonder if these are place fillers rather than the final tariffs.

Everyone who pre-orders the 5c online from Vodafone before 20th Sept gets a £20 credit on their line rental paid within 12 weeks existing customer or not.

You can get an extra 5GB of data for an extra £5 per month if you take a 4G plan as they are offering an extra 4GB for people signing up before the end of October. The base tariff of £42 per month includes 2GB of data plus 6 months spotify premium or sky sports.

plus 6 months spotify premium or sky sports.

If using these didn't count towards the data usage it might be worth it but it's just a gimmick. An hour or 2 of Sky Sports streaming that's not being done on wifi, will devour the monthly allocation all by itself...

Thanks this is good info however i did upgrade over the phone, silly me, i shall call them and try to get more off!!

Unfortunately none of this is relevant to me because i live in north lancs and don't see myself having 4g coverage for a while. I also already have sky sports and not bothered about spotify, i can take it or leave it, but thanks for the info!!

A mate of mine has an O2 refresh contract and was saying that in the contract, it states if you pay the full phone price and loose any discount if you buy the phone tariff out early.

I'm guessing in this case it refers to the more than Apple prices they are quoting, so something to consider if your debating whether to buy the handset out right or go with the refresh contract with the intention of getting the 6 next year.

Haven't seen this directly myself, so maybe someone who is better informed can confirm or dismiss whether this is true?

It's more about the data allowance than 4G coverage. 6GB data plus unlimited calls/text for £42 per month is a decent deal plus you are future proofed once 4G is rolled out over the rest of the country.
