So I missed the first UPS delivery today. There is not an option to change delivery options on the website. You have to put the UPS InfoNotice on your door with another address if you want it delivered somewhere else. If you do this, you have to accept that UPS are not liable for Loss or Damage to the iPhone (which is unacceptable) .....

So unless I get someone to house sit for the hours I'm not there, I won't get my iPhone :( The Depot is 60 miles from my house. UPS truly suck. I have been online with Apple, and they accept there is nothing they can do until the phone gets back to them, and even then, they can only re-deliver it using UPS again, as they are contracted to them. Ridiculous

How are people who have got their phones today/yesterday faring WRT the gyroscope issues being reported in other threads here? Thinking of cancelling my online order / returning it when it arrives and waiting to see if a fix is forthcoming, as this would affect several of the apps I use regularly...

Google for the depot / look it up on the UPS site and give them a ring. I've done that a few times either to rearrange delivery or pay import fees etc. and they have always been very helpful. As long as you have the delivery card and your tracking no./other details they should be able to help you out.

I wouldn't imagine that even with the holidays in china and Germany that UPS would miss this estimated date, they would have taken it into account I'm sure, so if UPS said Friday I have faith that they will be here Friday :D

Oh, called them and you can't change delivery time :( but you can pick up from depot same day!

So your saying if i call UPS they could ask the driver to deliver later in the day? That would be great if they could! I will give them a call

Before I call UPS does anybody know?

You won't be able to change anything if you call UPS. You are not the customer, Apple is their customer.

Further to that, its not a timed window delivery (i.e. must be delivered by 10am) which costs significantly more. UPS will deliver your phone to you based on what time they schedule business pickups for the day. So if you happen to be along the route in the morning, that is when you will get it, if its later on the way back to the depot, it will be then. You really aren't able to do anything about getting them to change the time I'm afraid.

I remember that tariff, they made sure to cut back on the data allowance when we upgraded to the iPhone 4.

Both Giffgaff and Three have unlimited data plans now between £12-15/month but the basic 4G plans are £26 for 1 GB on both O2 and EE, imagine how they could have ended up at the exact same price, some coincidence! Vodafone don't even offer a 1-month 4G SIM-only plan, it's 12 months minimum.

It's almost like the networks have cosied up together and agreed not to compete on price. And then in complete contrast Three say they won't charge any more at all for 4G. I hope they have the backbone capacity to handle 4G as I can see a lot of people switching to Three.

Matt

Yeah doesn't surprise me really that they would be in cahoots.

I actually don't really want to move from O2, mainly because I like the O2 Moments and some of the benefits they bring with sports and things I like.

My phone is still being missed by UPS driver for the 2nd day in a row..
I'm speechless. Never been so disappointed with any courier service.

Can you collect yourself?

That's ridiculous! I ordered mine at 12:01 and it is to be delivered after yours (on Monday)!!!!!

RIDICULOUS!!!
Not the same model though, was it?

You can't expect them to make the phones in the sequence orders were received, I suppose. Or can you... last time I ordered an AMG Mercedes and collected it from the factory, the cars come off the production line in the exact sequence they were ordered. Each car on the line gets the appropriate parts delivered to it to make up its precise specification, so they are all different, with base models to top of the range all going through on the same line, in order. I guess they don't work that way in a phone factory. Or maybe it's just because Germans are really good at organisation.

:( They haven't provided any information about where to collect. Also I'm working...

Not providing info is unacceptable :(

Operationally, since Tim Cook moved to CEO, Apple have really gone backwards with their supply chain and deliveries for product launches. I remember worse-than-previous delays on my 2012 MBA, iPad Mini and now this. Prior to that it was usually a couple of days at the most.

I still think, especially considering two significant holidays in China and this one in Germany, they would have been far better launching October 10th or so, stockpiling inventory closer to retail stores and in regional warehouses. That way online orders could be delivered much closer to launch day and retail stores would be able to serve the genuine customers far better.

Sure they get to take the money a few weeks later but you would think they need to uphold customer expectations and their own reputation more than they need a few more billion sat in the (offshore) bank.

That makes sense to me. I skipped the 5 but from memory the 4S launch was 18 October and I can't really see the benefit of launching before you even have a hope of fulfilling demand on your own web store. It may increase the hype and marketing value, but it also causes a lot of disappointed potential customers.

My gold 64GB is shipped, expected deliver monday.. boo.. I want it on the weekend when I can actually play with it. I hope someone is home on Monday.. gleh.. at least it's shipped.
