Just got off the Phone with Apple in the UK. They're seeing a number of orders that are suffering this 'Processing > Preparing for Dispatch > Processing' problem. They've escalated the problem and are looking into it. Unfortunately they do not yet know whether it has affected the position in the queue, or even if it has affected everyone after a certain date, or a certain product variant, etc.

If / When I hear more I'll post.

i ordered white 5s 32gb on 25 sept,and these last days my order have been suffering with the same problem " Processing > Preparing for Dispatch > Processing" problem.,i was hoping to get it before the release in sweden 25 okt-but now i have my doubts..

ordered white 16gb on 22nd, and so far i never saw it change from processing... if you get it before me its most definatly an error. Or apple queue system is not in order
 
Yeah I dont think you can apply that to your order mate as you should be well ahead of me in the queue.

I wouldn't count on it, since Apple seems to have dispatched orders that have been made after mine, before mine.

I hope this long wait hasn't got something to do with the fact that they're having to prepare for October 25th!

you should have yours like 4-5 days before i get mine otherwise the queue system is ****ed up..this waiting is really killing me..zzzz..,i was thinking about cancel my order and get one on ebay..or perhaps wait 2 weeks and buy it here in sweden..

Just to echo what TFindley said… I also called apple and the very helpful lady I spoke to confirmed it was a problem and they are looking into it. She also confirmed that we will not be pushed to the back of the queue, as the queue is ‘first come first serve’ from when the order was placed.

She also said that until you receive the dispatch notification email with the tracking details, the order has not shipped, despite what the order status says.

Feeling slightly more hopeful now… although I called my local store and they do infact have the 5s in stock, contract only:confused:
 
I wonder how many people are complaining of having to wait after thinking "I'm not staying up at midnight to order a phone, I'll do it when I wake"

Orderd my iphone 5s gold 32gb at 9.35 on 20 Sept. Just spoken with Customer Services. They cannot give me any information. Apparently no one knows anything(!) The woman would not even be pinned down when my status would change.

I'm going to have to seek medical assistance soon. Refreshing my status every 10 minutes. Totally expect HR to call me in and ask me exactly what work I have produced, er none, cos i've been looking at my status all day!

LOL I called them and said "don't mention the word "October" to me" and she did exactly that, she told me "October". I said I have already been waiting for nearly weeks and I am being expected to wait another 3 weeks (potentially) with no firm word from them. I said its pretty lame. She said Apple did not expect this! I reckon they did and that is why there was no pre-order on the 5s.

After knowing about my order for nearly 3 weeks now, I would expect them to have some idea of when in October my phone is likely to be dispatched. Having already dispatched the last batch a week ago, still stating just 'October' is starting to become very vague now.

Shouldn't they be delaying the new countries until current orders can be fulfilled???

64gb Gold ordered on the 20th and still processing .......and while I dont bear a grudge against anyone who's been lucky , I have really lost faith in Apple . Customer Service that can't deal with customer enquiries in any meaningful way regarding orders is not acceptable from one of the wealthiest companies on the planet and these phones aren't exactly cheap either .

'October' has become meaningless at this stage as orders from later dates regularly ship ahead of earlier ones . With more countries coming on stream shortly Apple should try to give those of us in our 3rd week of waiting some meaningful status updates .

Sep 24th, was (and still am), undecided as I have a 5 at the moment, it's white, picked gold after physically seeing one in the shop and being surprised how nice it is compared to web pics, even for a bloke like me! Also it's different colour to my current white 5.

From "Processing items" to "preparing for dispatch" to "Processing items"

I ordered my Iphone 5s Space grey 16GB on 24th September from the Apple online store. On Monday 7th October my order status changed to "Preparing for dispatch" and my credit card was charged. Now today Thursday 10th my order has gone back a step to "processing items".
Has this happened to anybody else.

I and many others on this forum have had exactly the same. Go back a few pages and you'll see the anger :)

Change 4 times, wow, from what to what? Processing to dispatch you mean? That's ridiculous if so, have you phoned Apple and asks?

The gold I totally agree was too bling bling, I agree 100%, but then I seen it in the flesh in Apple store, and it's a lot different in real life, lot more under stated, and the front touchID looks great in the gold. Have you seen one in hand?
 
I agree Apple should be giving more specific information especially when people have been waiting for so long. Tomorrow will see 3 weeks from day of launch and I am still no further forward to actually getting a phone. I ordered on launch day with the idea I would go to the store the next day, see the gold in all its glory and if I liked it, I would buy it and then cancel my online order. How glad am I actually ordered online? Very. Shops sold out. No stock anywhere. I am miffed that people who have upgraded their contracts are getting their phones before Apple.com orders and it does seem people who ordered after me have got theirs before me too.

Apple should wake up and smell the coffee. I have told Customer Services I am not happy but I get the same ****** every day - just in a different order!
