Mine changed to preparing to dispatch within a day or so of the replacement being requested and were with me 3-5 days later.

Did you not get the option to keep your defective phone until the replacement arrived?

Not explicitly, but the return request email said I have 14 days to return the first phone. It is still pristine, but I'm worried if I keep using it I might cause some damage resulting in Apple refusing the return, so it is already boxed up with collection booked early next week. I have sold my 4s, so I'm back to using my old 1st gen 8GB iPhone for now!

I will phone the online store again tomorrow check what is happening with the new order.

Ah I see. In my experience the issuing of the replacement is separate from the return so you should hopefully see it dispatch before you hand the other to the courier.

1st gen that must be a bit slow these days!

That is an understatement! The fastest cellular data is EDGE, and it is running iOS3. Maps shows Google maps and there is no compass or gyroscope to worry about... Life was so much simpler in those days:eek:
 
Same, we should see movement by the end of the day. That said not sure when the next UPS flight is from China, nonetheless just grateful it's close to finally being here and I'll have my new iPhone within the next week.

Wonder what flight it will leave on. Might have a read back through the threads, see what kind if movement to expect. When it wasn't my shipment, I didn't pay too much attention.

Sorry its taken me so long to upload these, been super busy....my phone is perfect! Could not be happier (except with ios7's little mishaps) :D

well its gonna save me a fortune replacing my phone, as i hate how easy the iPhone 5/5s is to drop, one of the reasons i never upgraded to the 5.

This is well slick...

I'll probably drop mine immediately after saying this, but I have yet to drop any of the iPhones I've used (every model since the original, other than 5C)!

For that reason, I take my chances with a nice sleeve. I hate most cases! :D
 
walked into apple store at the Oracle, Reading at about noon today to check out the iPad air.. just asked the guy whether they had any 5s and voila... came out with 2 x 32gb (silver & gold)!!

certainly didn't expect them to be in stock..

next thought was hmmm.. what will be missus say... needn't have worried.. she was too busy trying to decide which one she wanted!

No worries but informative nonetheless...cheers.. Looks like 5s stocks are getting back to normal. The guy in store last weekend said that 5s stocks should ease once the ipad air becomes available. Looks like he was right. Ill give them a call tomorrow but unless they had any today then no hope for tomorrow being sunday. Cheers
 
Apple store Cambridge offered me either 16 or 32 gb 5s for my upgrade, they were pleasantly surprised when I said no thanks show me the 5c lol
 
To those who has shipments Friday, have you had any movement? Mine was estimated for the 7th but now that message has gone and it's not scanned since Friday. Seems a little slow or is there a problem? I know it's early days but expected something to happen over the weekend. It was defiantly showing the 7th as my delivery status app was showing X days to delivery and now it's showing it doesn't know :/. Thanks!

Was the same last week slept for 2 night in china then went to korea on monday then people recieved on Wednesday/Thursday.

Ah right! Thanks! I did kinda work this out on the UPS website. Changes the digits round on my reference number, guessing they're sequential. Some show the 7th, some don't and since posting my date of the 7th has come back.

Update – seems I am at the back of the queue!

Well after getting my 5s in the first batch (ordered 23:59 19 Sept, delivered 1 Oct) I have returned it. iOS 7.0.3 did NOT in the end fix the gyroscope problem for me.

My replacement 5s is currently showing:
Processing Items Dispatched: 2 - 3 weeks
Delivery: 22 Nov, 2013 - 28 Nov, 2013 by Standard Shipping


I was told that, as a replacement, it should be bumped to the front on the queue - any ideas how long that takes?

The agreement to extend my return period to 30d did not show on my online account (the refund or replace option disappeared online on day 14). So when I decided I wanted a replacement I placed my own new order online, as I want to keep the option to return for a refund (I don’t mind the extra temporary £709 on my AMEX, and I’m not sure Apple would allow me to keep the extended return option with a replacement).

I then phoned the online store to request a refund. I told the guy what my plan was, and he said that was fine, my old order will be refunded and my new order would be expedited. This does not appear to have happened.

When I phoned again, I was told that this was the wrong procedure so my new order is at the back of the queue (and there is nothing they can do…). It seems replacement orders are only expedited when they have the same order number.

So who is right? The guy who said my new order would be expedited or the second advisor who said it can’t?

afaik, if your online order does not say "replacement" it will not be expidited to 3-5 days. Maybe try your luck in store and cancell online order.
Has your refund been processed?
