So I'm at an O2 store now, and I've just seen the poster in the window (pic attached) saying I can order a 5S in the morning. I'm now locked in the bloody shopping centre car park, so this is my only option to get one today, if I can't pick one up on launch day after queuing for 10 hours I'll be pissed.

In the queue at Sheffield meadowhall but my online order is processing as a back up in case I'm unlucky tonight.

Ordered at 00:00 and my Amex card is showing as pending payment for the full amount.

You in the queue waiting till 8am?

Serious question. Do you people have jobs?

You might be pissed then as the latest update states no stock will be available to collect.....also check this out.

O2 confirmed to the BBC that it would not be selling the 5S in its stores on launch day, but that customers would be able to try a "demo" model and place an order through their website.

It is the first time that O2 has had to put all of its stock online due to low availability, a spokesman confirmed.

Nationwide credit card? Maybe debit is different

------

Yea, I did login - available balance is showing full amount :( No pending transactions that I usually see when I order online

My friend used a Nationwide Select CC. The full amount has been reserved. My other friend used his Barclays card. His is showing as reserved £0.00.

Very odd.

Yes, I have a full time job, but I'm working afters tomorrow (Friday) and I've been off today (Thursday)

Not everyone has your standard 9-5 job. The organisation I work for doesn't have a closing time. 24/7/365.

So, it's nice when your days off fall right for something like this.

O2 don't have any stock. They'll place an order in store tomorrow, but likely wont receive it until October...

Go home and sleep.

That sucks!

What are you doing for the next 7 hours?

Nationwide select here too. Balls. Just my luck something would go wrong

Waiting in line for the iPhone 5S of course. If you plan on coming later, you may be disappointed. I'd say there's at least 50 people here.

Don't waste a journey if you're coming post-8am. Call to make sure they have stock.

****'s sake O2, why don't the customers who are prepared to queue all night come first?! Might switch to EE

Did you place an order as soon as it went live? Are your orders showing a processing?

Not sure if it makes a difference, but both of us changed our iTunes account credit card numbers just before placing the order.

Could be a reason they've reserved the full amount?

I think that there is a chance that they might get sent out tomorrow. Apple will have some in their warehouse and if you are one of the first to order then surely you will have a chance of getting some of that initial stock. We will see.

That's not likely. The reason why they have the estimated dispatch and delivery they do is because that is how long it will take. Some may take a few days less but there is no way any phones will be dispatched that early.

I would. Cheaper than O2. Cover much more LTE areas. Their signal is 100x better than O2's, they have stock available for next day delivery online, and they have some awesome features like 'sharer plans' (lets you have many sim cards on your plan), roaming for £5 (use all your mins/text, cheap data around the world) etc.

If you order online for EE and choose to collect in store it's giving a date of Tues 24th Sept that's for the Gold 16GB FYI :)

Apple obviously knew what there were doing hence no pre orders on the 5S publicity overdrive and hype.

I just don't understand this. 7-10days implies that Apple have literally 0 stock available in the UK or they'd begin dispatching immediately. Unless they're using all available stock for carriers/retail stores, which kinda sucks.

It wouldn't be the first time they have used stock already in the UK for retail stores and sent online orders from China. I recall they did it with one of the iPad preorders in the past.

Hmm enjoyed ordering via the app so much am tempted to order the dock now too!!!

If you do that you will have to pay shipping costs on the dock. You might be better off just buying it from a retail store. This is why I ordered it along with my iPhone so there would be no shipping cost on it.

I placed an online order so if I can't get one in store I'm covered although I'm surprised by 7-10 days as well.

I'm joining my queue at Brighton about 4am so we will see.

FFS!! Order completed and email confirmation by 0.03 and now cannot get back to sleep!!!!

This forum and playing with iOS 7 (first real opportunity since update) not helping!!

I'm the same and have to get up early today! This time next year we might have an Apple store to go queue up at..

Took your advice and made the switch, had to do it online so it'll be a hassle to keep my number I guess, but it was about £1 more for EE's 4G plan than O2's 3G plan, and O2 don't even have 4G in Manchester, so it's a no-brainer.
