I don't like the way Carphone Warehouse never leave you alone after buying from them. They're always calling friends of mine giving the hard sell.

I find quite the opposite, I asked them to remove me from marketing and haven't heard a peep from them at all.

Especially if you're buying sim-free - There's no contract end date, so they can't call for an upgrade when the time nears which is usually what they are more interested in!

Yeah, I'll keep my 7-10 order until Wednesday, if nothing has changed by then ill going out and see what I can get at the apple store or CPW. I get paid Wednesday and can't afford to front the cash for 2 phones right now!

If somebody could suggest phone recycling websites, I'll look up current prices and post them

I wonder if treating online customers like second class citizens may backfire on Apple. I was intending to order an iPad as soon as the new model was released in a month or so. After this experience with the iPhone, I may just keep my current iPad another year instead. Also it could make some people think twice about upgrading their phone every year, and do it every other year instead.

I bought the phone online.

I must be missing something here because when I went through that process it said there would be a 7-10 business day wait on dispatch and I was given a fairly specific window for delivery.

Had I found this unacceptable I was under no coercion to buy. So I made my choice. Apple is under no obligation to give you a phone because you stayed up til midnight to buy; just like they were under no obligation to give everyone who patiently waited in line for one at a retail store - it's your gamble, at least buying online GUARANTEES you a phone on a date, walking in to a store at this point very much doesn't.

As much as everyone is entitled to their opinion and voice their grievances - yeah I'd like my phone now but if I NEEDED a phone RIGHT NOW I would get a phone, no one needs an iPhone - I think if some people on this forum stepped back and read it from a different perspective they'd probably see how childish they sound.

Everyone will get their phone. Relax, enjoy the pictures and experiences people are posting and get excited for YOUR delivery date. YOURE GOING TO GET A SUPER AWESOME UNLOCKED DELUXE FINGER SENSOR IPHONE 5S IN THE COLOUR OF YOUR CHOICE WOOOOO!

Yes, I agree, somewhat. On the face of it, I was a bit upset that I would not get the phone on Monday the 23rd but accepted the 7-10 days. the reason I and I guess a few other are becoming unhappy is that it would appear that the likes of CPW are swimming in more 5s than they know what to do with. Apple have take my money with in seconds of getting my order, if I were to cancel I'm sure it'll take up to a week to get my money back and I cant afford to shell out for 2 £700 plus phones right now.

If there was no stock else were I would not have an issue with waiting the 7-10 days. You live and learn, I'll not be ordering on line from apple again on launch day,
I'll take my chances at the stores

What are these different methods? I'm going to have them open permanently on all devices :p

Once our phones actually ship we will get tracking numbers. We then use :*http://expo.expeditors.com*grab the "Our Delivery Reference Number" from the Apple store track an order pageand enter it on the expeditors website. In the Events tab you should be able if it is actually processing or whether it's started shipping.

This will let us see what delivery pallet our phones are on and will show the worldwide route via flight and truck all the way to Heathrow airport. Hence why there is a delay in the dispatch and actual delivery times for us.

Its quite fun to track it that way and makes our 3 week wait a little less painful.

The only reason why I know this is because my MBPr went throuh same process and
took roughly the same time to deliver due to release stock shortages!

Hope it helps guys!!

You may very well find on your statement tomorrow that the money is back in, they tend to take a pre-auth for the whole thing and then release it, they money is unavailable from my account but nothing saying 'Apple' on my statement.

CPW is all well and good but they're on to a winner anyway - I'm not sure they have as many as many seem to think they do, maybe no one else is buying them apart from people here because they rightly think paying a £50 premium for a locked phone is a bit silly?

Just had a dispatched email from O2, wonder if that means it might turn up tomorrow?

32Gb Space Grey 5S, ordered yesterday morning... :) leather SENA case arrived yesterday and Apple dispatched my Dock on Friday, so just need to cancel my Apple order for my 5S when the order page comes back up and i'm sorted... no 3 week wait thank god!

Time to eBay my HTC One, at long last, 2-3 months is too long stuck with Android, never again!

Hmm

How likely is it, that theyll update our order status to less than 7.-10. oct?
I know its coming from china, but surely once its in transit, it shouldnt take that long to get to the uk.

The company i work for gets deliveries from china all the time and it never seems to take longer than ,when you get something shipped via ebay..

I believe under the distance selling regs they can keep the money as long as they intend to dispatch within 28 days, so I'll not be holding my breath on the money being back in my account.

I don't think there was a £50 premium on the 64 gig models.

I see some people are saying that Apple have already taken the money out of bank accounts for online orders. I understood this didn't happen till orders dispatched? My available balance remains unchanged or are people referring to credit card purchases?

I guess it depends if our phones have even been made yet! I get the impression that they haven't. it's not the delivery, door to door that is going to take the time.

No my order was via a debit card and the full amount was taken seconds after the order was made

So was mine at 00.01 but nothing taken from account as yet.

Carphone Warehouse still have stock of Space Grey 64GB and 32GB Sim-Free at the moment too.

I initially didn't want to order from them because it locks to the first SIM you put in, but considering I'll be with 3 for the next 12 months, I don't mind at all!

Definitely worth considering now their prices are inline with Apple!

Only the 64gb is, 32 and 16 have a 50£ premium.

Hmm.. Order status still down.

Hopefully revising the delivery dates, although I ordered at 3:30am so I won't hold my breath in mine changing.

They usually take down the order tracking every Sunday for a few hours for maintenance, so I wouldn't hope for a revised delivery date :(

Here's hoping though!

Hi everyone, my first post, but I've been reading through the entire thread since it started.

I, too, ordered my iPhone (silver 64gb) online at 00:02 and I am disappointed with the delivery delay :( if everyone was experiencing the same delay, I'd be less annoyed, but it seems customers who go through carriers are getting deliveries so much more quickly!

From a manufacturers point of view, I don't understand it! Apple make more profit from phones bought directly from them. Guaranteed, they're not selling them to CPW at retail price. So why prioritise those orders over orders that put the greatest amount of money straight in their pockets?

Am I the only one who's so desperate to get their phone that they've created an elaborate daydream where the order status page is down on apple's website because they're updating them all at once to say that they've bend dispatched? Lol.

No - it would be great to see preparing for dispatch shortly!! I find it hard to believe the service is extremely busy which is the message am getting on the apple store app at the moment unless all the US customers are checking on their 1-3 day orders which are currently preparing for dispatch grrrr!!

I got my order confirmation at 00:03 so also a bit aggrieved that went effort of ordering online at midnight but feel at the bottom of the pile for actually getting my phone.

Not going to CPW though as don't want my phone getting locked to a network - I will be using my orange sim as still under contract to them til sept next year from purchase of iPhone 5 and whilst I'll no doubt be upgrading to a 6 at that point I don't want a locked phone to sell.

Did anyone place a new order on the EE site on Friday and had a text from Uk Mail yet?

Has a nightmare of an experience so far with EE and will defiantly be complaining about how incompetent some of their phone staff are.

1) Ordered new contract at 5:20am online with EE, with message that more info was needed and I would get call within 48 hrs
2) I phoned at 8am to query what the problem was and guy said the payment didn't go through. He then said he would put the order through for me and cancel the other one. I pointed out various times that this was not an upgrade and a new contract for my wife
3) Email received that afternoon to say my web order (that I thought failed) was winging its way to me????
4) Found out today that 2 payments have been taken for the phone, the web order went through and the guy on the phone Friday has requested my Orange contact to be upgraded to 4g:mad::mad:

My phone still hasn't been sent out and has no delivery date. I have visions that this isn't the end of this nightmare and have no idea when I'll get the phone and whether the order will ever appear.

Don't you just love call centres!!!!!!!!!! Nice little complaint going to be submitted about how incompetent the person was I spoke to Friday. What use it will do I don't know but will help offload my anger. Nice Sunday morning wasted soo far

Lets do the math here.. 7-10 would mean 27.-30. sept. To get to the uk, plus maybe 1-2 days for a uk courier to get to our addresses. If our phones werent supposed to get to us earlier than oct. Why didnt it just state oct. For delivery, like the orders that have been placed wa later than 12:01?
7.-10. oct. Cleary wouldnt be sept. / 7-10 days, right ?

Is there anyway I could upgrade my 32gb to 64gb on apples site?

I'm like only 3.4 gb away from filling up a 32gb phone...

Order status is back up now. No change still saying 'Order processing'. I reckon we will probably see a change towards the end of next week.....
