No idea but thank you for putting me closer in the queue!
If you go to http://www.three.co.uk/unlock, that's the page.
You can unlock on contract after 60 days, but with a payg, you can unlock right away. If you've only just started your contract, you're probably best shoving a payg sim for a day or two and unlocking that way 🙂 They've been very fast both times I've unlocked, so it shouldn't be a long term thing. Not sure if your contract will link to the IMEI number or something to prevent you unlocking once you've inserted your contract sim though...you'd have to try it and see!
Mines coming from EE, if I got a three pay and go sim and rang three would they unlock it for a set price?

I think your iPhone would be locked to EE.
If it's already locked to EE, then no, but if it locks to the first sim inserted like the CPW phones, then as long as you put the 3 payg sim in first, they'll unlock it for £15.32. However, if you've bought it direct from EE, I imagine it'll be locked to them already.
I'm tempted by the CPW 64GB phone but I don't need 64GB and I think the resale of the 64GB won't be much more than the 32GB in a year. And I hate dealing with CPW. And £709 for a phone is pushing it. I have a mental block paying £700 for a phone.
Whats wrong with CW? This is the first time I've dealt with them. Anything I should be aware of?

Also for those interested I phoned the Liverpool Apple store this afternoon and they said they didn't have any 5S's in stock and didn't know when they would be getting more in.

Thing is i have a nano sim-only sim and no PAYG sim. My iPhone 5 is also due to be sold/collected tomorrow morning. So i'm thinking of doing the CPW thing (i'd rather not but needs must...i don't want to be phoneless) wondering if i should just use my pay monthly sim once and for all. I've payed my first bill and i just started the contract in Aug. But waiting 30days...i'd rather not.
I thought they'd be the same as CPW where they lock to the first sim inserted no? Can anybody confirm?

That's what I was thinking, I thought even though coming from EE it'd be similar to CPW where the first sim in it locks to

Well thanks for making me feel a bit better about the London shortage. I used to live just round the corner from there - so close I didn't even have to cross a road. It would suck for me if they had loads of stock and I'm stuck in London!
Do miss Liverpool though...
Got my carphone warehouse 5S Unlocked by Three in less than 24 hours!
Me too, got my 5s from CPW, stuck my 3 sim in, filled out the online form this afternoon and it was unlocked by this evening.
Just been out to get a T-Mobile sim to finish the unlock process 😀
Cost me the 15 quid something to get it done, but was really easy to do! Shame I want to stay with 3, but at least it's unlocked now 🙄
Why not order a payg sim online for free? You don't have to top up. Though, if you nip into a store to get one, they're £1.99 and for £10 you'll get 500mb, 100 mins and 3000 texts, more than enough to tide you over until the unlocking process is done. You'll have to wait for one from cpw now anyway (from previous posts, it looks as though all the in-store ones are tied to contracts), so waiting for a payg sim shouldn't be a problem.
