Ha. I had the same. They rang me this morning. But I also had placed the order last night.

You will need to ring CPW for them to re-authorise your card. Once HSBC declined a transaction, they can't approve it again. So you have to get CPW to redo the transaction.

Stupid way of doing business, even the guy in store though so but he couldn't override what the online people said.

All sorted now. Will cancel the 14 days left Apple order now.

Also had the same from my bank, had to call and confirm it was ok, then call CPW to get them to reprocess the payment.

What the... I've tried that in two stores, and it was always a firm no even though they had stock. Any tips?

Except Three won't sell it without a contract at present.
 
So I've saw that some people are getting them from CPW - I placed an order online for the 64gb grey. My card issuer went crazy thinking it was a fraudulent purchase.. declined it.

Called card issuer and practically cried in frustration on the phone about how I need a phone and am without iPhone as sold it in preparation. Using work BB which is just painful...

Ordered again.. All fine.

Apparently there was stock of them near my work at CPW, practically barged up there. Explained the situation and that I'd release the one on order if they can let me have one now. They said they'd check the stock.. Came out and said they had one left which was reserved for another customer.... A tear of pain rolled down my face.. I "manned" up and walk back to work.

However, called CPW just now to be told that phone is currently being "picked".. so should get it tomorrow!

Am not cancelling Apple's order until I get the phone in my hands.

Great result. Took my (less than 24 hour old) iPhone 64 GB 5S to Apple. Showed them the little screw that was not in properly. They took it in the back to screw in then came back saying they couldn't get it to screw in. So they gave me a new one! Also, while I was waiting I was looking at the Belkin Iris anti-glare screen protector. I said I'd buy one. They fitted it (perfectly) and said they'd throw it in for free. Apple- crap at distribution but you can't fault their customer service. Result!
 
Is there a specific way people found out about the westfield london restock? was the stock available from the open?

No tips. Just got two different people and a lot of hassle the second time telling me they wouldn't personally buy a phone for £709 etc etc.

I managed to get one from the Bluewater store on pay and go at the second time of asking.

Also if you go to their website you can order it on pay and go for free next day delivery but have to pay £10 extra for a top up.
 
I picked up my 64GB Gold one yesterday in Glasgow Buchanan St, so stock is coming in.

Just cancelled my pre-order. :)

I have a question regarding Apple Care+ and the iPhone 5s. So I ordered both online, my AC was dispatched and I now have it, obviously my 5s hasn't. If I were to purchase a 5s from a store, and cancel my online order, what happens to my Apple Care? I mean, it auto enrols for online ordered device... but if I cancel that then what happens?
 
visiting london at the moment and no store has the 32gb in silver and 64gb in gold. Very disappointed as it's the first time ever I didn't manage to get one on release week
 
My 64GB Grey turned up from CPW in record time but sadly has a cluster of dead pixels just at the white battery symbol. So basically you can see it all the time. Grrrr. Back it goes. This is a theme at Apple launches for me - although usually with iPads only.

It's a shame cos it's perfect apart from that and with a nice white even screen. Oh well. I'll just wait for my 32GB from Apple. Can't be bothered with the lottery again for now by ordering another CPW one.

Applecare would be linked and registered to the iPhone you ordered online.
If you buy another iphone from elsewhere, you will need to call Apple and link the new iPhone to AppleCare. They will run a diagnostic test on your phone before allowing you to register new iphone with it.
Or you have to take your new iphone to a store and they will check the phone before linking AppleCare to it
 
Just a thought, but on other orders does the dispatch date usually count down? Ie; goes from 7-10 business days to 5 days, then 1-3 etc.

From past experiences when do you guys guesstimate they will be dispatched? I've been hovering over buying a second 32gb SG from CPW but will probably wait rather than hassle with swapping over the apple care.

It's showing as unavailable to buy on the Three website under PAYG, all colours and capacities (but in stock for contract).
 
I received the beige case today which was damaged and I rang to arrange return. The guy I spoke to at Apple said that orders for 7-10 days will ship earlier than stated, so should look out for earlier despatch than expected. I hope this is true.

On the product page it increases by £50 for silver and gold but remains at £629 for grey. All of the 64GB are the same price as Apple.
 
Frustrating that CPW has stock of the white 32GB but it's £50 more than Apple.

Could get it next day... but don't want to spend that much extra.

Shame too, the grey is the same price as Apple. Surely the silver and Gold are misprices!?
