UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

Let me be the millionth person to say that the preorders today were a shambles!

It was my very first preorder today, normally I talk myself into a new iphone on launch day and wonder down to the shops to get one from Apple, usually I get the very last one blah blah!

Well i thought I'd be proactive and defiantly get one, because of the store now loading I nearly missed out, I was only 10 minutes away from a 3-4wk delay. I was refreshing on multiple devices and using the app and it was only by chance chrome worked.

Is there a special song or dance one must do to get the store to load at 8AM?

I just thought i'd take a look at O2's tarrifs especially as everyone on here seems to think the are the best and I'm really confused.

They have the device price of an Iphone 6 64GB as £729.99 when according to the Apple store its £619.99. I thought maybe they were charging interest but they claim interest is 0%.

This is their £48 a month tariff for 2GB Unlimited

24 months Duration of agreement
£729.99 Device cash price
£9.99 Upfront cost
£720.00 Credit amount
0% Interest rate (fixed)
0% Representative APR
£30 Monthly device payment
£729.99 Device amount payable
£18 Monthly airtime payment
The Device Plan is offered on a 24 month consumer credit agreement. Subject to status, credit check, and payment by Direct Debit.

Am I missing something here?

Same thing happened to me :(
Every browser I had was open refreshing

The pre-orders for 4S and 5 were a lot smoother and quicker. Wonder what went wrong this year...

Anyone order direct from O2?

Yeah i did after spending most of the day (8am-2pm) refreshing the update page on the website. Finally didm manage to order a iPhone 6+ 64GB Space Grey, Went for the 20GB of data option.

Only problem is conformation e-mail says 2-3 weeks delivery time from the 19th september!! hoping that is wrong and their just trying to cover them selfs.

Don't think you are missing anything. They are simply over inflating the value of the iPhone.

Thats  appaling! I don't remember them doing this when I bought my 5, in fact it was cheaper going with O2 than it was buying sim free and getting a sim.

Well no question what I will eventually do. :D

Did ANYONE actually get a 6 PLUS - 128GB for delivery on the 19th from Apple??

I experienced the same godawful shenanigans with the App and website this morning - so it was about 8.40 before the order eventually worked....initially said delivery on 19th on the screen - but that changed to 7-10 days by order confirmation stage....Argh.....

I just wish someone had posted that "reserve a phone for store collection" link last night or earlier this morning!

I just wonder if there were actually many PLUS units available for delivery on 19th...and indeed whether the stores get many and therefore if its even worth going early to Eldon Sq. Newcastle early next Friday to try and get a couple?
Eldon square has no 6+'s to reserve. You could go along and hope for the best but supplies will be limited and you will really need to get ahead of anyone in the queue. All I would say is that if it's really the 6+ that you want then don't compromise, you may have to hold out for a little while but it will be worth it if you end up getting the 4.7 and hating it.

My confirmation doesn't have a date. I did it through O2 Refresh also and they seemed to have taken the money straight away from my bank account.

They have done this for a while now, they make up some figure, usually £100 or so more than the Apple RRP.

Whats even more scandalous is if you increase your monthly payment, the total you end up maybe gets higher, penalising those who prefer a larger monthly bill.

I know its a big up front cost, but i'm now on a yearly cycle of buying the latest one, selling the old model, and including a simple £15 tariff + handset costs ends up around the £550 a year mark. Thats the for top spec 6+ 128gb having sold a 64gb 5S for £400.

I wonder what dictates the status of an order on Apple.com - for it moving from processing to awaiting dispatch etc. I don't think it is time of order, as there are people who ordered after another person that have the 'awaiting dispatch' status, whereas the earlier order is still stuck at processing.

Is it the particular bank a person pays with? Debit card v credit card?

It would be interesting to know (if there is any logic at all) I am sure this would quell a lot of concerns on here..

Today has been the worst apple device preorder I've experienced. I think it's just genuinely down to apple becoming more popular each year and the overwhelming demand.

Am I the only one thinking all the networks are pretty pricey. I'm particularly shocked at Three tbh, find it odd they're only offering a choice of three plans.

I'm totally on the fence about what to do now, will need to weigh up the different options quite carefully but can see me going down the sim free route.

Gutted had my 128gb 6 plus ordered from 3 and they have phoned me to tell me that apple have told them that they won't be available til the 3rd October.

Yes I got that phone call as well, so cancelled my order and went with Vodafone via Phones4U who assured me still have release day stock. Was not amused when they called!

Decided on my choice of case. Gone for the midnight blue Apple leather case. Looks really good with the white.

Delivery estimate 18th-22nd sept. Hope it gets here for the 19th ha.

The more you pay upfront the better the deal. My iPhone 6 Plus 64GB has a £689 (inc upfront cost) cash price in total but I paid £209.99 upfront. Then £20 a month for the phone for 24 months and £28 a month airtime for 20GB Data.

Well i'll never buy on contract again if thats what they are doing. My O2 contract is now up and i have moved to sim only, 3GB for £17 a month. I'm very pleased with that so when i do eventually decide to get the 6 i'll buy direct from Apple.

Hi all I see there are lots of lucky people that have gone to preparing to despatch! Jealous! ;) I got my order in through Safari on Mac at 8:30 and missed launch day! Ordered a 64gb Plus in sg. Anyone know what time the last of the 64gb sg plus launch stock dried up? Surprised I missed out on 19th :( any previous experience of 7-10 days turning up sooner? Or is that wishful thinking? haha

I couldn't return an iPad bought online to a store a couple of months ago. Returns were very easy though - you emailed TNT with a code Apple provided and they collected it. Very easy.

My grey 64gb 6 and silver 64gb 6+ both seem to have gone through at just after 8.30 this morning.

I just think it would be more honest if they stated the correct device price and charged interest. I think hiding it the way they are is dispicable
