Link doesn't work for me. I don't really understand the difference between payg and pay monthly - this sim seems to give 300 mins (more than I'll need) and unlimited data (more than I'll need) for £15 per month. The deal through three is for 200 mins voice, so the apple deal seems better.

I was going to switch my dad to three today but virgin mobile offered £5 for unlimited data and 1200 mins so he stays with them ;)

The 3 site is sometimes weird to link to, do a google for "3 payg add ons" and it's the very first link.

PAYG, is pay as you go, you buy credit each month, either online or from a shop/supermarket/3 Store etc and then you would use the My3 app or website to convert the credit into the addon, there is also a £10 add on with a smaller allowance, you can also just use the credit to call/text/data. 3 PAYG charges 3p per minute, 2p per text and 1p per MB of data.

Pay monthly is a contract, they come in 30 day, 12 month and 24 month contracts normally. You pay a fixed rate per month, usually by direct debit, and get your minutes/texts/data to use.

At least you didn't get stuck with the 3-4 weeks! I'm really hoping I can bag one from an apple store at some point way before that then just cancel the order.

I did that last year with my 5S as they all started with delayed shipping.

Managed to walk into my local apple store about 5 days after launch and pick one straight up, no queues nothing.

Might try the same again even though I keep telling myself it's just a phone and I can wait 2 more weeks..

Sorry if this has already been posted and i missed it!!

I reserved my iPhone 6 for pick up on Friday at my local Apple Store, its for 10-11am pick up, does anyone know i can just walk in and pick it up? or if there is still a queue at that time, do i have to join it and wait?

Thank you! Really looking forward to Friday! :):p

You might have to queue with others who also reserved in that slot. It shouldn't be long, I would be surprised if it takes more than half an hour, it can't take more than a hour as the next time slot people will be arriving for 11-12 pick ups.

Have a look at Three, unlimited data with a 4GB tethering allowance is £15 IIRC.

The entry price is £7...

(You may need to switch to 'sorted by monthly cost')

Half the house is on GiffGaff; being non-contract you can change your price plan according to your anticipated requirements. There are a couple of changes coming up, though:
a) (the good) you can now buy a new 'goody bag' at any time, rather than having to move onto a PAYG tariff until your month is up
b) (the bad) price rises / data allowance reductions

Looking at the link the Virgin one month 'contract' might be a better deal, and is only £5 if you're already on Virgin broadband.

Thanks for that guys. The Three deals seem to look good actually.

Just discover a page on Apple's website that allows you to reserve the phone for instore pick up on Friday 19th.

Having been through all the stores there appears to be no 6 Plus' but several stores have 6's particular if you want a 128GB one, the West Quay in Southampton for example has all colours of iPhone 6 (4.7") in 128GB available to reserve to collect on Friday.

Hope this is of use to somebody.

Thanks for that. Just reserved 128 GB Silver 6 for Friday and cancelled the order to be delivered (at least 10 days later).

Is it acceptable to open a phone and then return it? I've got a 6 and a 6+ due one the 19th, as I couldn't decide what size to go for.

I've previously ordered multiple colours, and returned one, but never actually opened the unwanted one at all. Was always wary of them refusing the return for some reason.

Indeed it is, I've been doing it with Apple for years. So long as you action the return within 14 days of delivery your good. Just pack it up in original packing and they'll send someone to collect it.

I would have kept your online order open incase there's a balls up with reservations in store

I've got the same time and wondering the same thing. Do we just walk last the queues like pop stars or royalty?!

Does anyone know how the reservation system works for launch day?

I've got an email confirmation for my reservation but there is no reference number on the email at all. Do I just turn up and show them the email to prove I have a reservation and do they get physically allocated to people in the back of the store before they open?

I imagine Friday is going to be a crazy day so whats stopping people just turning up saying they have a reservation?

Your reservation is linked to your Apple ID that you reserved it under. When you walk in the store you find an employee and tell them your name or Apple ID which they look up on their little computer. They will tell you where to queue if there is one.

I'll be surprised if they actually ask for any form of ID. Anybody just walking in saying they have a reservation won't be on their little computer thingy so won't get very far!

Whilst the Three unlimited data plans look good Three don't offer visual voicemail and I don't think they have any plans to do so

Can't say I've ever used visual voicemail but is not picking up messages the old fashion way by listening to them not enough? Surely voicemail shouldn't be the deciding factor unless I'm missing something

Anyone else feels this week is going to be a VERY long week? Its only been a day and I want it to be Friday already

good to be optimistic! I'm sure apple have it all in hand like their love stream and the launch last friday.. Oh hold on..

There must be plenty of stock slushing around if they are doing reservations

I think O2, who I am with on unlimited data on a very old sim only iPhone pay monthly contract do visual voicemail - once you've used it you don't really want to go back to the good old days of retrieving message by dial up - but that's just me!

Oh, will be very very long,

Hey guys,
Im skipping the iPhone this time and am awaiting another handset release but my sister has ordered her iPhone 6 in space grey.

She ordered from Vodafone, and they have confirmed her order and sent a text today advising her iPhone 6 will be with her on Monday. :p

Obviously, it's an error, but imagine that?! Ha.

Anyway, enjoy your phones! Kinda gutted / relieved I'm not part of the posting and week wait and then the best bit - the day of waiting and watching for the delivery van!! Always fun!

Cheers.
