10 to 17th October delivery schedule. Guess there is little to zero chance of that being changed to earlier :( ordered at 09.31

This is shocking, you ordered users before me and I am getting mine on the 19th, is there a delay process between different method on what did you use to order? iOS Safari/ PC Chrome / Apple Store app? or the delay is related to the Banks screwing people over with late payments etc?

Anyone know yet if O2 are going to bother supporting WiFi calling? Such a great feature but O2 are pretty useless as supporting stuff like that and HD calling. Will be switching to EE after my contract is up.

02 already have an app as well, they just don't work as seamlessly as Apple implementation.

Nope - O2 won't be supporting WiFi calling (except from their 'TU Go' app which is useless... especially for business customers) at launch and there's been no announcement as to if/when they will. In fact, you can nearly tell the O2 CEO Ronan Dunne is a Samsung fanboy in his recent tweet where he kind of mocked Tim Cook for saying you can now use calling over WiFi when Dunne thought that the exact same thing was already available on O2. I know I kind of jumped to conclusions calling him a Samsung fanboy... but that's the type of thing one of them would say.

Have you considered buying it outright and getting a sim only plan? It usually works out considerably cheaper and it means you're free to get the new phone next year if you want it.

Did you guys order the same handset?

Lol I got very lucky indeed being able to get in at 8:07 , I got a free case by saying that I wasn't happy with the service I got, so I rang them up to tell them of my experience and they offered me it as a goodwill gesture

What did you say you wasn't happy with? Was it with the store being closed at 8am?

Thanks

I ordered a 6, Space Grey, 128GB around 11.15am on Friday 12th from Apple using the iOS app. My delivery date is 29 Sep - 2 Oct.

Is there any chance of delivery being sooner?

I managed to reserve a 6+ 64 GB space grey at the London- Regent Street store for the 8-9am slot on release day! Is anyone else in the same position and knows what the process is going to be in terms of sticking to those times.

Anyone actually spoken to an apple store to see if there will be separate queues etc?

I've got work that morning so hoping if I get there for 7:30 will be able to walk out by 9:30 otherwise surely they shouldn't have stipulated time slots right?

Comments welcome #

Looks like I've been allocated a 6+. It's a week 35 production unit. Weird serial number starting with FK1

But at least now I know I'm getting both my orders on Fri.

Hopefully they're defect-free

I'm am not liking what I'm reading at all. In fact I'm extremely annoyed that it appears that other users who ordered the exact same spec phone as me, two hours after I ordered are going to receive theirs two weeks before me.

I ordered at 9.05am. A 6+ 128gb space grey for delivery between the 10/10 to 17/10.

So how did other users manage to bag the same phone for earlier delivery after this time?

What sort of system is this? I paid with credit card so it's not as if I'm waiting on a decision on finance.

Also, those who have orders more than one phone just to send one back! Well played! Just keep the rest of us waiting. How hard is it to make a decision, honestly!

What happens to these returned phones? I hope they then don't get resealed and sent back out to the rest of us?

And lastly,

Why the **** am I'm I getting so wound up over a stupid phone? This is stupid!

Apple, hurry up and take my god damn money!

Ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 64gb on the Apple Store website on the 12th. Confirmation received at 8:32am. Order status has gone from processing to preparing for dispatch.

Delivery date is showing for the 19th. Unfortunately I'm working that day until about 3pm! So annoyed about this obviously, because I'm worried about missing the delivery. When I find out my tracking number, do you know if it's possible to contact the courier and schedule a delivery time slot so I don't miss it?

I'm sure other people who are working are in the same situation?

The couriers are extremely busy on that day, so I wouldn't count on being able to make any special arrangement with them. It is always worth trying though.

If you are close to the depot then you may be able to make an arrangement to collect it. If you miss the delivery then you can usually arrange a collection and it's possible this could be on the Saturday.

Best advice I can give it to try to ensure that someone is at home. Obviously, depending on circumstances that may be easier said than done.

Yup, same here. Reason why is pretty obvious, neh?

I don't know of any courier company that allows you to pick a time slot for delivery. DPD are the best where you can GPS track the driver and you get a 1 hour delivery window. Apple don't normally use DPD for launch days though.

If the courier comes before you get home they will leave a card and you can collect on Saturday morning.

Well I ordered mine at 8:30 on Friday and it still says 'awaiting payment' so I'm not sure what my bank is doing...

I'd call your bank asap and get them to check if any payments were declined, and to allow any apple payments through that day. Then I'd log into my apple account and try to repay or use an alternative method of payment.

It'll probably come about 70% charged, and I'm stuck in the old habit of running things flat then charging them until full because of the fallacy that doing so extends battery life. I know that's not the case but I'll end up doing that anyway.

AFAIK it's best to run the battery between 20% and 80%, not charging over or letting it go under. So I'd just use it, personally. ;)

That phone was showing as later before quite a while before 9.05am. Are you sure people with the same order are getting them earlier? I've not seen many people with a 6+ ordered say that they will be arriving on the 19th. I thought it was only people who got in very early.

FWIW I got the impression most people who ordered a few minutes later than I did (08:36 and 08:39) were getting into the 7-10 day territory, so I feel rather lucky to have a 19/9 date.

Just cancelled my order for a iphone 6 space grey 64gb with midnight blue leather case.

Well I was in two minds about which phone to get when I ordered, but having had a nightmare of a time with the online store, by the time I finally did get in the plus shipping dates had slipped so I immediately went with a 6, which had a shipping date of 7-10 days. Over the last couple of days I got thinking, seeing as I'm unlikely to receive the phone on the release date, like I have done with the previous 4 iphone incarnations I've had (4, 4S, 5 and 5S) I thought for once I'd sit this one out and get my hands on them for a real review and decision process in the coming week.

If its the plus I want then I'll just have to wait the 3-4 weeks and if its the 6, chances are ill be able to pick one up in store in less time than that.

Right or wrong I made a decision - whoopie for me.

For what it's worth, I tried to order with Three when their preorders went live just after 5pm. The preorder process timed out at pretty much every stage, but I was finally able to secure a 64Gb iPhone 6 Plus (space grey) at around 5.40, and was amazed to see on my confirmation that I'll get it on launch day.

It's going to be a long week...

That's pretty sensible.. Most of us on here are too blinded by getting a shiny new toy on the day it's out to make a rational decision

Ahh I see. I'll definitely give it a go. I'm in Central London so collection from a depot should be easier enough for me. Hopefully the people living in the flat below will sign for it!

I wouldn't mind too much waiting until Saturday but I couldn't wait until Monday!
