Im not sure about the delay, sorry, but do you really need it any more? They have a declaration at the bottom of the iPhone page that links to the extended cover they are required to offer in the UK - 6 years in England and 5 in Scotland.

Can't see that: http://www.apple.com/uk/iphone-6/

Also, there's a difference between the 2 year EU legislation (which we opted out of) and the UK's Sale of Goods Act (which gives you 6 years to file a claim against a manufacturer if you think it failed prematurely for example).

As far as I am aware Apple have never offered any kind of reserving facility in the UK. The options if you are ordering direct from Apple to get it on launch day is going to be pre-order for delivery or q'ing at the store.

----------

Assuming its a: Black iPhone 5 64 GB, in perfect condition and unlocked the quote seems to be - £220.00.

They allowed reservation for store pick up with the iPhone 4 in the UK. Not sure about the 5 but the retail website does mention reservation for the 6

----------

Anybody know if you can name a specific day for pickup or will it have to be Sat 19th?

----------

Im wondering this also as wont get back till Sunday.

I believe this was down for the iPhone 4 so maybe somebody will remember how it worked

Was all done through the retail website in launch day. I just don't want to be on the retail website when I should be on the online store lol.

They will place an authorisation on your card, so you need enough money on Friday to cover it. They may not charge the card until dispatch.

Oh ok.

Regarding store reservation pick up, if that is the case, surely thats a good thing for people who usually queue on day release? unless of course you enjoy the experience... cant understand why but anyhoo:D

I can already see tons of people just ordering both handset sizes and returning the one they dont want due to no restocking fee etc. Not very fair on Apple since the handset has to be resold as a refurb!

Three

I know this is going to be asked a lot, but does anyone know what Three are likely to charge for the phone?

I'm with O2 currently but looking to move across due to data allowance and the roaming with Three seems a pretty sweet deal.

I'll be buying on contract, does anyone know what the charges were for the Iphone 5/5s?

I've looked at current pricing but not sure that will be accurate.

Also can I reserve at an Apple store and sign up to Three? or only Upgrade?

Thanks,

Brad

Three have stated they wont release any price details until pre-orders go live on Friday, midday at the earliest.

Bad move on their front, as EE and O2 will almost certainly have their plans out before then, drawing customers in.

Found it.

As I thought, it's a 1 year warranty on the iPhone, with the ability to make a (legal) *claim* for up to 6 years.

http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/

For example, if you bought a launch day 128 gig iPhone 6 Plus and it died either when it was 13 months or when it was 5 years and 11 months old, you would be legally entitled to make a claim against Apple (assuming you bought it from them, as your claim always lies with the retailer) for repair/replacement costs.

You'd have to pay for supporting evidence that it had lasted an unreasonable amount of time for such a premium device and the judge would agree/disagree with you.

Either way, it's still a 1 year warranty in the UK and people shouldn't think it's anything else.

Apple would be within their legal rights to not repair/replace a faulty iPhone that was one day out of warranty for example, but a judge would without doubt come down on the customer's side in court (assuming the phone was in good condition etc and hadn't contributed to the failure).

Just wondering, does anyone know if pre-orders are fulfillable through the Apple Store App? I'll be on the bus at 8am to college and 'm not sure how long I'll have to pre-order. Or does anyone know generally how many phones are available to pre-order, if i don't do it on the bus, it'll probably be at 9am, will I still be able to do this or will they have "pre-ordered-out"?

Moved to the UK from Canada a year ago. Always had issues preordering (with the 4S and 5) and I am hoping things run a lot smoother when I order from the app on Friday morning!

Which will you buy?

So, I am buying the 5'5" Space Gray 64gb, what are you guys going for? :)

From what I've read Apple has yet to have preorders on their site or app in the UK, this of course being the first year. I am also interested in the amount of stock they will have available? Especially with 6 variations this year.

They only didn't do pre-orders last year, you could pre-order the 4, 4S and 5.

Had my iPhone 5 replaced at 23 months old a few weeks ago in the UK. The Genius stated that they are automatically replacing up to 2 years

Not sure if this has already been asked (probably has) but does anyone know what time the pre-orders will go live for the iPhone 6, UK time? Really looking forward to the iPhone 6, still undecided which model to get tho

Personally I'll be up from 4~5am and wait.

Pre-orders are definitely 8am this Friday (12th Sept) on Apple site.

Vodafone says 8:01 am on their site, don't know what difference a minute makes though.

Ok, i want to get on the website and pre-order as soon as its available, because the site will probably be busy and getting through may be a problem depending on demand for the iPhone 6. Also if its delivered on the 19th that would be great.

The iPhone 6 has already been added to the O2 app although you cannot actually pre order it until Friday. Hopefully the app will not crash and I can just tap my choice. It beats sitting on a phone anyway. :)

Yea me too, all i need to do now is decide which model to get, 4.7" or 5.5"

£220 - however I plan on using O2 Recycle, who bumped up their price to £220 to match Fonebanks price.
O2 offered me £175 for a 32GB iPhone 5, but at present they are going on ebay for anything from £230 to £300. I think even with a 10% listing fee it is worth selling privately. The 64GB will obviously get a lot more than that. :)
