I quit having a contact with phones almost 4yrs ago, I buy my phone directly from apple & unlocked, and have 1 month sim only contract with Three... £26 all I need :D

Ditto - Monthly rolling Sim Only on O2 for the past 4.5 years, £21/m unlimited data (well 5gb as I've found) and never gone over the minutes/texts. Much prefer the option of buying whichever handset I wish, though TBH it's been an iPhone since the first one was released in the US :)

I'll be going for the 4.7" but unsure on colour yet, probably be silver as the grey should be proper black IMO.

Im doing what a lot of you chaps seem to be doing which is buying the phone outright. Im on a cracking 12 month sim only deal with EE which is only £16 a month. It works out so much cheaper and you can change network more often, or whenever you like if you're on a rolling contract.

Giffgaff route looks good, £619 for the 64gb 6 and £10 a month for two years giving a total of £859 running costs.

Can't be many better ways to do it unless I'm missing something

Just looked on apples website. Live chat was available but went into queue. Had FAQs to look at while waiting including timing. Said 8am on 12th.

Nice!, mine is unlimited everything, even can tether with it :D

I decided to go with the 5.5" 64gb space gray (maybe white?)

Are you sure that 8am isn't just referring to the time it goes on sale on September 19th? That's what i read it as, unless you're referring to a different page

Historically, what time do pre-orders start in the UK? Don't they start at ~midnight in the US, so could be the same in the UK?

I'll be getting a 64GB unlocked and using my £20 a month Tesco sim. Unlimited data, texts and tethering. Doesn't include 4G which is the only downside, but I'm not convinced I need 4G yet

I called in a local three shop on my lunch and had a feel of a note 3 and some 4.7" android and while the 4.7 felt ok, the note didn't feel as bad as I was expecting.

I'm in no hurry to upgrade, my 5 works fine and I'd really miss the jailbreak, so I'm getting tempted to hold off until I can go into a store and feel them both side by side, and also be closer to a jailbreak.

If I was to place a pre order on Friday, would I be able to cancel it before dispatch if needed?

There is a chance I can get a discount on an upgraded contract with O2 through a family member who works there, but as yet he has no idea on prices etc so it may not work out a whole lot cheaper, in which case I would prefer to buy direct from Apple and keep my sim only contract going

Can i ask people in UK who got iphone 4 or iphone 4S, and want to get an iphone 6, what shall i do with a sim card?
I mean when i will get an iphone 6, will the same sim card from my iphone 4S work with a new iphone or not? Do i need to order a new one or something like that, and how long it will take to get one :)
Im with O2. Thanks

ask your provider to send you a nano sim or go down to your local provider shop and pick a replacement sim the same day, it'll be active in 2~3hrs.

The iPhone 4S uses a Micro-Sim card the iPhone 6 uses a Nano-Sim which is smaller, you can try cutting down your current simcard or get a new sim from O2.

Walk into any O2 store and they will sort you out with the correct simcard for the 6, FOC.

So 8AM it is.

Gonna have to get someone to order mine up at 8AM then!

Unless i try ordering it on my iPad in a 4G area :)

Hopefully they have plenty of stock.

Another question, if i managed to reserve at store do you have to pay online or just reserve online and then pay in store?

I'm going for 4.7" I think, 5.5 just seems too big. Using my 4S right now very comfortably one handed. I can imagine doing the same with the 6 but not 6+. Reckon I'll go for 128GB. :)

You won't be able to type one handed if you have normal size hands with any speed and not with out the risk of dropping the phone.

CEX:mad: complete set of muppets imo, my experience with them at the time of the iPhone 5 launch was awful when trying to sell my i4. My phone was immaculate and they gave me a really silly excuse to decline buying my phone after a whole day of inspection. YMMV.

CEX just gave me £331 for my white 64gb 5s

With ios8 you can double touch the home button and the whole screen moves down so you can reach elements that are at the top of the page such as "< back to messages"

Anyone planning on skipping preorder and queueing next friday?

I am queuing next Friday. That way I will guarantee getting my phone on that day instead of relying on couriers and it means I can check the phone for dings and catches before leaving the store. Also Apple staff put the phones in the window about an hour before the store opens so will get a chance to see the 6 and 6+ side by side in case i want to change my mind at the last moment

I've decided on the 4.7 64GB in either white or grey. My contract doesn't expire until January so I'm going to buy the phone direct from Apple and pay the monthly contract cost until it ends. Quite glad to be getting out of these 24 month phone contracts - Sim only is the way to go I reckon!

My contract ended last month and I've gone Sim only with three. I think buying outright is the way to go these 24 month contracts are super expensive and restrictive.

£619 for iphone 6 64Gb and £15 for 500 mins unlimited texts and data and 4GB tethering

Hello guys,

Do you know which is the maximum number of phones that can be pre-ordered ?

Thanks

Are there any additional details on the reservation process? Is that reserve and pickup anytime? Do you pay in store or online when you preorder?

I went Simplicity on O2 three years ago. The money i save on lower contract fees plus selling my one year old phone each year means that I can replace my phone annually
