UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

Anyone still waiting on a confirmation e-mail from Carphone Warehouse?

Got the order in at 8.01 for a +, 64gb, Silver... Foolishly got a new contract without going through the upgrade process. Called and rectified after some great advice on here from you guys... Operator fixed it and assured me delivery would be on launch.

Still waiting on the e-mail, though?

Tried ringing earlier but got bored of being on hold and hung up. Trying again now, don't imagine they will do anything but a free case wouldn't go a miss.

I'm going to call them tomorrow to ask about availability and number porting. I don't mind waiting 3-4 weeks with this offer...
 
I'm hoping I'll get mine Thursday! It's going to my work address and we get regular shipments, so perhaps a higher chance it'll accidentally get loaded for delivery early.

I hate using my phone without a case but it'll have to be naked until the 3rd party folk flood Amazon with cheapies. Not paying Apple £25+ for a case.

Hiya

i ordered from CPW on friday morning and also hadnt received a confirmation email so i foned em last nite to confirm everything was ok with my upgrade. Everything was fine and the upfront cost had been debited from my account. A confirmation email was then received as soon as i came off the fone.

Id give em a call just for peace of mind

They don't allocate you a time, you choose an hour slot during the stores opening hours.

Damn it.

Why wasn't I aware of EE's plans - you can customise it so you can pay more upfront and then your monthly bill is less :|

There is no chance of getting it early. They don't do 'accidental' early deliveries.

The item could arrive in the UK today, but it will be placed on hold.

Im mighty tempted! lol

I think I'd be on day 11 or 12 when the 6+ arrives - so may be able to compare both that evening and organise a return for one the following day I guess.... ;)

Im leaning more towards the 6+ at the moment. Saying that I bet we both change to the opposite sides when they arrive!! lol

I was offered the same deal with three. Again, they told me this was special for being a valued customer ;)

Just call them up, I'm sure they'd add it on for you too!
 
Does anyone know what happen if I'm not home for the delivery? I think they are gonna try 2 or 3 times, but what if I'm not there and no one can pick it up for me? Is there a way to make it delivered to an Apple store and go to collect it? Thanks guys :)
 
Are all plus orders with three being delayed? I heard have thousands of people to call back.

I have checked twice now so if I get a call delaying won't be happy.

Yes, as I said earlier, you should be able to call them and arrange for collection.

Hm, yeah I have heard this too actually! That's what I do with my 5, I never let it go completely flat and charge it regularly, and overnight. I reserve the whole thing of running it flat then charging it right up for the first use only!

Has anyone else ordered with Apple finance? I got my application accepted with Barclays after applying, but there's been no update on my order status through the Apple store online regarding dispatch estimates.. just says it's still awaiting payment.

Its true that if you totally drain a li-ion battery it will damage it. But you can't do that with the iPhone. When it dies from low batt it actually still has quite a bit of charge left, this is kept in reserve to prevent damage.

Here is the official apple advice;

In short, charge it whenever you like and use it.
 
Do you think phone4u will deliver on the 19th?

Are they normally reliable with there delivery estimates?

ah right, so basically my understanding is correct but apple prevent it happening?

I was told this for my battery drills and assumed it was the same
 
Don't know about the rest of you but I'm getting excited just thinking about my new shiny iphone and these week is going to be horrible.

Received my spigeon case yesterday and it turned out to be a bumper not a case. Looks like I made a mistake so will be sending it back I ended up ordering another one so should arrive to day
