8.44am email confirmation and I'll be getting both iPhone 6's on the 19th. They're currently being prepared for dispatch.

This is my first iPhone. I've used Apple computers for almost 12 years. It's the last year that iOS 7-8, and the size and dimensions of the iPhone had finally appealed to me. I hated iOS up to version 6, and the screen size of the pre 6 iPhone was limiting.

I'm mainly looking forward to the camera and the photos app. Also shooting some Slo mo.

I shoot a lot of media, produce graphics and run an ecommerce shop using shopify. Could any of you guys point me to a thread with some essential new apps for new iPhone users...?

FWIW I got the impression most people who ordered a few minutes later than I did (08:36 and 08:39) were getting into the 7-10 day territory, so I feel rather lucky to have a 19/9 date.

My confirmation email (128Gb 6+ space grey) was 8.36 and I got 19/9. I had been hammering refresh and the iApp since 7.59.

For several minutes before the final successful order I was getting into the store but the process would not complete, so I had to start again. Some of those unsuccessful attempts included "unavailable" but I assumed it was site problems so persisted.

Money was held on AMEX account within an hour, now showing as "preparing for dispatch" and is also showing in My Support Profile with serial no. week 36/2014

I ordered two iPhone 6 +

1x Gold 64Gb
1x space grey 128Gb

I phone Vodafone up at 7.59 and by the time I had pressed all the options it was 8am and 2 seconds I was told a 5-12 minute wait time, okay not so bad so I wait in the queue and an hour had passed and I got cut off, phoned back and requested a call back, took 3 hours before I was called back! Anyway ordered the space grey and it should arrive on the 19th.

I ordered the gold one from the apple store online, kept refreshing and went to a different browser and was straight on! Ordered it with 2 cases (one for the space grey) and that should be arriving on the 19th as well!

Ahh I see. I'll definitely give it a go. I'm in Central London so collection from a depot should be easier enough for me. Hopefully the people living in the flat below will sign for it!

I wouldn't mind too much waiting until Saturday but I couldn't wait until Monday!

If your local UPS depot is Camden you've had it. We use UPS as our courier at work (50-100 parcels a day). We don't have many issues, but most are with the Camden branch.
If you are not in to sign for your parcel they will attempt another two times on the next two business (not a Saturday).
Why not get it delivered to your work address?

The 3 site is sometimes weird to link to, do a google for "3 payg add ons" and it's the very first link.

PAYG, is pay as you go, you buy credit each month, either online or from a shop/supermarket/3 Store etc and then you would use the My3 app or website to convert the credit into the addon, there is also a £10 add on with a smaller allowance, you can also just use the credit to call/text/data. 3 PAYG charges 3p per minute, 2p per text and 1p per MB of data.

Pay monthly is a contract, they come in 30 day, 12 month and 24 month contracts normally. You pay a fixed rate per month, usually by direct debit, and get your minutes/texts/data to use.

Ah ok - thanks for that. Went to their site, found the package. It seems they charge extra for sending things like pics/ videos. I think I'll go for the pay monthly option

I managed to reserve a 6+ 64 GB space grey at the London- Regent Street store for the 8-9am slot on release day! Is anyone else in the same position and knows what the process is going to be in terms of sticking to those times.

Anyone actually spoken to an apple store to see if there will be separate queues etc?

I've got work that morning so hoping if I get there for 7:30 will be able to walk out by 9:30 otherwise surely they shouldn't have stipulated time slots right?

Comments welcome #

Same here, well 10-11am, am hoping the time slots mean a minimal wait if any.

EE are still showing most phones as "delivery within 7 days".

If I ordered one now what'd be the chances of getting it on Friday do you think?

I believe that Apple specifically don't allow items to be left with neighbours. If your flat has just one delivery point then you may be ok, but they are unlikely to knock on a neighbours door.

The suggestion below to change the delivery address to your work may be possible, but perhaps it's too late for that now they are preparing for dispatch.

I'd phone your depot as soon as you find out who is delivering it and see what they can do.

Camden wouldn't be my local depot. The UPS website says that sometimes if a parcel can't be delivered, they sometimes deliver them to so-called UPS Access Points. There are two of these within a half mile of where I am so hopefully they will choose that as opposed to a redeliver! I could always contact them to suggest that as my preference I suppose, if they can't deliver it later on in the day.

Delivering to my work address isn't an option I'm afraid.

They wouldn't know if it was left with neighbours or not, because our flat is strange in the way that there are two flats, but with the same postal address (no A flat and no B flat). The flat beneath would sign for it with no problem so hopefully they'll be in.

Thanks for your advice! I'd definitely like to contact them ASAP, but obviously I don't even have the shipping details confirmed yet.

This is it the reason I went with in store pickup

It'll probably come about 70% charged, and I'm stuck in the old habit of running things flat then charging them until full because of the fallacy that doing so extends battery life. I know that's not the case but I'll end up doing that anyway.

From what I've read this method actually damages lithium batteries, fwiw I charge my phone overnight and it's charged in a brodit holder in my van on and off all day and I've never had a battery issue with any of my phones, whereas my apprentice has replaced to iPhones with knackerred batteries and he runs until totally flat every day then charges overnight.

Ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 64gb on the Apple Store website on the 12th. Confirmation received at 8:32am. Order status has gone from processing to preparing for dispatch.

Delivery date is showing for the 19th. Unfortunately I'm working that day until about 3pm! So annoyed about this obviously, because I'm worried about missing the delivery. When I find out my tracking number, do you know if it's possible to contact the courier and schedule a delivery time slot so I don't miss it?

I'm sure other people who are working are in the same situation?

How can I put this.... The flu comes on very suddenly

I must missed the store pick up points, instead I shipped it to my parents house as they are retired they're always in.

Might take Friday off anyway as I have a number of things I need to sort out.

Went looking at contracts the other day for Sim-only iPhones as well as the standard pay monthly. They're all a rip off. Data allowances are the new SMS allowances. I'm shocked that they haven't increased at all in the last couple of years.

I can't imagine having to watch how much data you use each month.

I still only pay £16 a month, like I've done since the iPhone 4, and get unlimited data and more minutes than I'll ever use. The only people offering a deal as good as that are GiffGaff.

Hi I pre ordered an iphone 6 plus 64gb black in the EE store lakeside essex on Friday 12th with £10 deposit for a PAYG handset to buy outright rather than pay my year left line rental, they said I t will be in store for collection on the 19th, anyone else done this.

Also, those who have orders more than one phone just to send one back! Well played! Just keep the rest of us waiting. How hard is it to make a decision, honestly!

I completely agree. It is nothing short of disgraceful that many people (it seems) are ordering two phones with no intention whatsoever of keeping both. This extends waiting time for others just to appease the selfishness of some users and plays havoc with Apple's stock at local levels.

Personally, if I didn't know what handset I wanted, I would get off my a*se and go into a store to help make my mind up. This might mean that I wouldn't get a phone on release day but that wouldn't wreck my life.

I'm am not liking what I'm reading at all. In fact I'm extremely annoyed that it appears that other users who ordered the exact same spec phone as me, two hours after I ordered are going to receive theirs two weeks before me.

I ordered at 9.05am. A 6+ 128gb space grey for delivery between the 10/10 to 17/10.

So how did other users manage to bag the same phone for earlier delivery after this time?

What sort of system is this? I paid with credit card so it's not as if I'm waiting on a decision on finance.

What happens to these returned phones? I hope they then don't get resealed and sent back out to the rest of us?

And lastly,

Why the **** am I'm I getting so wound up over a stupid phone? This is stupid!

Apple, hurry up and take my god damn money!

Same. I'm actually pissed off about this. Going to ring Apple today and see if there's anything they can do. Ordered 6+ 64GB grey at 8:44 and got an estimated delivery date of the 30th earliest.

Why not just order from Apple? Pay less and it's fully unlocked...

Should be no problem with your neighbours then.

You are likely to find out the depot on Thursday. There are usually quite a few posts on here on the Thursday evening from people who have spoken to the depot for various reasons.

A couple of years ago, I missed the delivery as I had to go away for the weekend. I've just checked my emails from the time and it seems I got an email on Friday evening notifying me (obviously if I was at home if have had the card earlier than that). I phoned the depot on Saturday and arranged to collect it on Monday, rather than them try to redeliver. I assume I would have been able to collect on the Saturday, but don't recall for sure, as it wasn't an option for me because I was a couple of hundred miles away.

Data allowances have increased, speaking from personal experience here, but far more so SIM only than ones that come with a phone.

Does anyone know when Giffgaff will go live with their prices? Still says coming soon.
