Regarding CPW SIM-Only, I don't quite get it...

How do phones from Apple remain unlocked, yet phones bought SIM-Free from CPW lock to the first network? Aren't they the same phones, manufactured in the same factory?

I wonder about this too. Last year I bought my 5s from them. When I got it home the small screw underneath the phone was sticking out. Took it back to apple (CWH said they'd have to send it off and it could be weeks). Apple couldn't screw the screw in so gave me a new phone but it was locked to Vodafone as the CWH one was?!

Mines ready for dispatch as well

Hi all

Just wanted to say hello to everyone waiting for their new phones!

I managed to get my order in about half 8 on Monday morning I've had the confirmation email saying delivery on 19th :)

I went for a 4.7" space grey 64gb I'm going to just drop my Giff Gaff sim in it so it's only gonna be £7.50 a month lol

I've ordered a case from amazon, this is what I got for £8.99

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JH882JW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Looks ok I think, hopefully it's nice and thin

Roll on Friday!

Does it have a tracking number or courier?

Is this the free they give you one when you make a complaint? (Some have managed to get a free Apple case from Apple after making complaint to Apple)

I paid for mine separate from my phone order (didn't wanna mess it up) and the carrier is SYNCREON POSTAL no other details.

I ordered a 128gb Silver 6 from O2 yesterday and have no idea of the delivery date. On the ordering page it said available on the 19th (where as other sizes/colours said 2-3 weeks). I asked CS on live chat and the guy told me it would be dispatched after the 19th.

So it looks like it won't be arriving on Friday but no idea really.

O2 will be sending out phones for DELIVERY on Friday. Some will get Friday, some Monday, some in 2 weeks.

Serial number probably tagged with locked/unlocked status. So activation server knows what to do when you request activation.

According to a very rude live chat CPW agent they wont be selling the iPhone 6 sim free. But she was so dismissive and rude that who knows whats actually true. Seems like Currys have taken over customer service at the CPW unfortunately.

Could end up with two.....

Just missed the 19/9 and have 7-10 days. Estimated 30 Sept to 3 Oct delivery. Was hoping for 19th as in laws fly here to Portugal on 21st but that plan's blown out of the water!!
Today found out that an official reseller over here is taking orders on the 20th and delivery in shop 26th. One mobile phone company says pre order on 19th but no dispatch or delivery info and Apple Portugal says order from 26th, again no dispatch or delivery.
Think I'll order at at the local reseller shop and if successful, then I'll contact people at UK delivery address and get them to attach 'return details' and from what I read Apple will come and collect it then credit me a week later. Shame as I reckon loads of people would take the UK phone off me but I have no way of arranging it!!

Not working for me

Has anyone on here managed to track their iPhone's by reference on UPS/FedEx? By using your phone number (used to order your iPhone) or order number?

Quite a few people from the US have

Links to track: Fedex: https://www.fedex.com/fedextrack/html/index.html?action=altref&cntry_code=uK

UPS: http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_GB (click on track by reference)

It's not working for me on either of those links, all my other stuff from Apple has always come on UPS

Didn't use any sort of case or screen protector with my 5s. What's the consensus on the 6? Who's going with a case? What case have you bought? The 6 seems too sexy and slim to cover up, never saw the point of buying a premium, highly designed phone and then covering it up almost entirely.

I reserved for in store pick up using two Apple ID accounts (ordered the other one for my mom's birthday surprise), both under my name. I realise this might be a big issue now on the day - anyone know anything about this?

UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

I can't wait to get away from EE, had poor coverage and even worse customer service.

Decided to buy the iPhone 6 outright from Apple and move over to Three (3)! I received my SIM already but EE want £25 to unlock the my current iPhone 5...I don't agree with that seeing as it's now my phone as the contract is paid up. So looks like I'll have to battle it out on EE till my new phone arrives.

I've asked in an Apple store before about this.

They can tell via the serial number that you had a networked locked iPhone so they will only replace it with the same.

They have up units that lockout for contracts.

And they have Payg units that you pay full price for that never lock out.

Lots of disappointment was with CPW over the iPhone 5mwhere their Payg units also locked out even though a person was paying the same as you would for an Apple Store Payg one. They had this is fine print on their in store point of sale that they locked out to the first sim inserted.

Hi peeps!

I managed to bag myself 2 128GB Space Grey iPhone 6 Plus' by reservation at the London Regent Street store for collection on the 19th. Both of these are SIM free. I'm hoping that these are guaranteed as long as I make my time slot?

I am currently on a SIM only, monthly rolling contract with EE. My question is, If I want to, can I decide to take out a contract with EE, keep my phone number and still take a way my new iPhone? I can't see any problem with it from an EE point of view but will Apple tell me that as I selected SIM free at the time of reservation then thats how I have to take it away? Its not a big problem but it may be useful to have the choice.

Thanks.

Did anyone order more than one case direct from Apple for the 6+, as I won't be able to get one from them on release day anymore so I would be interested in getting one off someone else :)
