Just a heads up to those who are without a preorder but still want it at launch.
EE's online inventory is different to their store inventory. We went to the store today to take out a contract for the iPhone 6 with the expectation of having to wait for stock post launch. However to our surprise we were told that they still had inventory available for friday.
For point of reference, the EE store was Stockport, and they had only taken 60 pre-orders since friday. I have no doubt the likes of the Manchester centre and Trafford Centre stores have probably reached their launch stock limit, but the smaller EE stores in crappy town centres may still have some in.
Managed to get 20gb data, unlimited minutes and texts, with the iPhone 6 16gb handset price of £100 at £38.99 a month, then a £6 per month share sim only plan bolt on. I think this was an upgrade and discounted price offered to us though, we've been with Tmobile/EE for around 15 years now and the person taking the lead contract had been due an upgrade for a long time but not taken up the option.

Inserting hearing people saying this about EE. For me I am desperate to move away from them, poor signal where I am, not to mention complete disregard for loyal customers with their terrible upgrade pricing for me.
I guess it just shows that it reall really matters where you are, though almost all of my friends who are on Three have nothing but good things to say abitu them here in Wiltshire, and regarding 4G. When I was in London with my dad and was using his iPad on Three's 4G network I had no issues at all until we were out of aerial range.
Are there any Three to other carrier converts or EE to other carrier converts here and why?
Converting from 3 onto EE. 3 signal is adequate at best; It's tolerable for the price of their contracts and perhaps a trade off for some to have unlimited 4g data however don't strong fast signal, or signal at all, when you enter a places like the Trafford Centre or Tescos et al. The frequency some of their 3g spectrum runs at is notorious for not being great at penetration (lol).
Their 4g network, whilst free of charge, is still very weak compared to EE too. I often rarely get it despite being in areas advertised as 'strong signal' (i.e. Manchester city centre), and when I do its only 3mbps faster than 3g. A minor gripe too is that the signal constantly changes from 4g to 3g and vice versa, and for some apps which I may be using which needs a continuous connection, it will always disconnect as it changes between the two masts.
