It seems that their deals with EE and Vodafone are not being renewed. Can't see why they won't still complete the iPhone contracts, it did say one or the other still had a year left on their current contract.

I ordered an iPhone 6 at 9:15am with 7-10 business days delivery estimate and an iPhone 6 Plus at 9:20am with 3-4 weeks delivery estimate.

They are both still showing as 'processing items' and even though I thought those estimates will be reduced really quickly, since I ordered within 90 minutes of pre-orders starting, they have not changed!

So I was wondering if anyone who ordered at similar times has received any dispatch updates? Thanks

Mine was 09.31am and 3 to 4 weeks also, still processing, I dont anticipate any change in my order status till maybe about 10 days before it will arrive so probably end of sept to 2/3 oct as my delivery dates are from 10 to 17th october.

Great. Hopefully I can do it over the phone as the nearest store is 60 miles away!

Thanks
I've just done a quick check and unlike other Apple products you have to buy Apple care (or Apple care + as it's called for the iPhone) within 60 days of buying your iPhone.

That's not accurate.

You have 60 days from purchase of an iPhone, to purchase Applecare +.
Corrected in my post after I double checked on the Apple website.

No change for me :( Still got estimated delivery day of September 30th. Ordered 64GB plus a 8:44

I thought I was getting a good deal in that I didn't have to pay anything upfront with p4u, how stupid was I, I'm hoping they will still honour the pre orders as I understand that the mobile operators are not going to renew their contracts and I signed mine with EE which has until sep 2015 to run to, I've also seen the O2 and Vodafone have cancelled their contracts but that was back in July and they have been continued to be sold on the p4u website, so u take it that they decided not to renew their contracts also. It is sad news that a perfectly profitable business can be forced to close because networks want to make more profit for themselves. The next one to go will be CPW and that will be the end of cheaper contracts as networks will be free to raise costs as they please.

I feel sorry for the workers at p4u at this news.

But I hope that there will be good news tomorrow reference pre orders and also people's jobs.

It's possible.

I'd suggest anyone who has ordered with them read this article and act as soon as possible:

http://www.money.co.uk/article/1002521-your-rights-if-a-retailer-goes-into-administration.htm
So, Credit protection via credit card, chargeback via Debit but even then not guaranteed.

I can understand, in a way, why you may not get money back from administrators. What's really frustrating is that it's likely the owners of Phones 4 U made a massive dividend of some kind, and they get to keep it. They should be paying for refunds, they made the business fail.

Gosh sometimes I hate Capitalism. Actually I hate it most of the time.

Fortunately my order with Phones4U involved no money up front so at least I won't be in as bad a position as some people who will have their money tied up in up front payments

I think there isn't a need to jump the gun yet. They're on the face of things without finance trouble. I think it's simply they can't move forward as they'll have nothing to sell. I would expect all current orders will be seen out.

Wow even for 8:40 delivery! That is crazy! I hope they do send out iPhones in order of the times people bought theirs!

What's the best deal out there at the moment?

Vodafone via Carphonewarehouse seem to be the most competitive from what I've seen...

4GB, unlimited everything else.
£43.40 a month with no upfront cost.

There are a few websites doing cheaper deals on EE, but I'm not sure how reliable they would be- especially given I assume limited 'pre-order stock'.

No, you have 60 days from the day you get your iPhone to purchase AppleCare +.

That's it, after that you can't purchase it.

But once you've bought it within the 60 days of getting your iphone you can extend it within a year right? Or has that changed that now?

I've been billed but my phone hasn't dispatched & it's 7-10 days, is this normal?

Yes, they don't actually take the money until the delivery day, this is an initial payment to confirm your bank authorized the payment for the next process.

That's now down to the Administrators, not P4U.

This, but it's in the Administrators' best financial interests to sell the stock, but there's no guarantee that they will sell it to the people who pre-ordered it. It's not worth risking it. Just call the bank and try to get the money back. Sucks to be anyone who ordered from them. I'm sure tomorrow they will release a public statement about the iP6 orders.
