I think dpd are fantastic, never let me down!



The other couriers are mediocre in comparison IMO



Wish apple would ship their orders with dpd

Whilst I agree that their tracking is good when you get the information. And then the time estimation seems to be spot on on the day as well. And the drivers are very courteous. When all goes well it is great. However when it doesn't, and you don't get the number through or you do and the you don't get your slot and then nothing happens. That is where it falls down in my experience.

For the iPhone 5, they started around 12noon - 1pm, I didn't get mine till nearer 7pm though.

Agreed. DPD are the model for UK couriers.

Accurate, regular and detailed information on all deliveries - down to a GPS-facilitated map of where your van is, what delivery number it is on, and your ETA down to a one hour slot.



Are they supplying the phones from some carriers?

As you say, apple tend to use UPS in the UK.

They are for Vodafone yes.

There is no correlation between time out of stock and "most popular" (as others have said).

As an example, if there were 10 000 6 pluses and 11 000 initial orders, it would go OOS pretty quickly, but there could have been 100 000 6's and only 90 000 initial orders they wouldn't even show as OOS at all, but the 6 would have been almost 9 times more popular.

Based on previous launch day pre-orders from Apple, I'm expecting to only get a notification of dispatch and tracking at about 11am on Thursday. Hope it will be before then (I keep checking my email in hope!), but not expecting it.

I think they started late Friday/early Saturday when some orders changed to 'Preparing for Dispatch'.

Update to my earlier post, my order status has just switched to 'Preparing for dispatch'. Delivery still showing as '29 Sep, 2014 - 02 Oct, 2014', but increasingly confident that this is conservative in the extreme.

Totally agree. Even if they don't ship till Mon/Tues and are coming from China, they should still be here by next Friday

When did you order for though, I initially had delivery for the 19th, I'm not even sure they've taken the money yet, it's gone from my account but it isn't showing on my statement

Order confirmation email through at 0833 for a 6 Plus 16GB. Expected delivery 19/9.
They have placed a hold on the money in my account but not yet taken it. That is normal though as they normally take payment once it's shipped. I'm sure we will be fine, just annoying that we have not received any updates.

If think this happens to me once before. The. The night before launch everyone updated and the phone was on route to me for the launch window.

What time is best to go and queue for iPhones? I don't want to go there all night to just stand around. I was hoping I could rock up at around 3am and bag myself a 6+ 128gb. Does anyone know how likely this would be? Should I be there earlier? Can anyone confirm that Apple UK will be using the Reservation Pass queue system in the UK and can leave the queue once we have a reservation pass?

I think you will be very lucky to get a 6+ arriving at that time. Based on the chatter here and the polls elsewhere on the forum it seems to be a 50/50 split between people wanting the 6 and the 6+. Apple however are not producing as many 6+ due to supply problems. Foxconn are producing 150,000 6+ a day vs 400,000 6 per day. Also, Foxconn are the only 6+ producers, other suppliers are also making the 6.

So with demand for each model equal (assumption) but production lower I would think that you would need to be in the queue near the front to bag a 6+

I'm just hoping that my bank haven't cancelled the transaction as with a few other people, I went in this morning but they need a passport for ID, not just an ID card, I don't know how to make sure they're going to authorise it

Same model here too.....just had a chat with an online apple guy and he said it could be just cos there are so many orders that they are getting them all ready before actually shipping them, so the dates may still be accurate, but he did say again they are trying to ship them all as fast as they can so it may be quicker as well.....he's prob just guessing either way

Mine is in the same status: Delivery: 29 Sep, 2014 - 02 Oct, 2014 by Standard Shipping

The money is not yet taken (but counter fenced). Seems a bit too early for a delivery for the 29th. I am taking it as a sing for earlier delivery
