On a slightly related note about dispatch times.. I bought a leather case for 6 Plus in the early hours of this morning after hearing reviews mentioning scratches.
The online store said it would dispatch in 5-7 days and it would arrive between 30th September - 3rd October. Few hours ago I got a email saying it had dispatched and will arrive tomorrow! Wondering if the order systems realised I had an iPhone due to arrive Friday so bumped the case to the top of the queue? Or the dispatch estimates are completely wrong!

Got my confirmation email at 8:36 so probably ordered a few minutes earlier than that and mine is the same. The leather case I ordered yesterday already dispatched though.
Mine still says processing and delivery 19th, but when i called Apple about 10 min ago they say this means a problem and after looking into it said that my bank declined the payment. Even though the bank says they didn't..
I recommend you call Apple, to be on the safe side. The guy on the phone told me that all deliveries for the 19th should have moved to preparing for shipment by now

How can I find out the exact time I placed the order, if that's a confirmation of it processing and it came at 8:40, I must have ordered a bit earlier than that for them to have got passed the "We've received your order" stage
Not sure but I just ordered a leather case yesterday since the silicone is saying it'll be "Available to ship: 2 - 3 weeks
Delivers: 02 Oct, 2014 - 08 Oct, 2014 by Postal Delivery" and the leather case dispatched earlier today.

Just to add my experience, ordered Gold iPhone Plus 128gb confirmation at 8:39 and at the preparing for dispatch stage for 19/9.
Had chrome on windows up and android chrome open but no luck, had to buy it through Safari on the iPhone 5.
Hopefully it will be here on Friday.

I just looked back through my old Apple emails and found my iPhone 5 order.
Order was placed on the 14/09/2012 and email confirms this.
Next email i had was from Apple saying the iPhone had shipped. This came through on the 19/09/2012 which was a Wednesday at 1841. The phone was launching that Friday 21/09/2012.
Going by this i have my fingers crossed that it goes to Dispatched or i get an email saying its dispatched some time tonight. Just annoying that it still says its processing.
Who should I ring first? Also, the 699 has left my account, surely it would have been cancelled before that disappeared.

That gives me a bit of confidence, do you think going into an Apple store would help, would the "Geniuses" be able to give me the info I need or would a phone call be better
I've ordered mine from CPW and I can track DPD saying it's been dispatched and on its way.
I'm collecting from store though so it makes more sense and the estimated delivery is Thursday.
Fairly reassured that this means I can go in and pick it up on Friday!

well it seems nobody here who bought direct from Apple has hd their status changed to dispatched / shipped so I don't think that is a problem. They clearly have not shipped yet from China or maybe they are already in the UK and the shipping will change when they leave their UK depot?
Is that your first email you received from Apple when you pre ordered it? If so that is the time your order went through, the processing status changed as when they worked through the orders but the time it went through is when you officially ordered it which is when you received the first email from Apple.
If that makes sense.

I ordered a 6 / Space Grey / 128GB for delivery from Apple on the 12th, but was using the iOS App instead of my MacBook so didn't get my order in til it was too late (!) for Day One, with a confirmation email time of 0914AM which is a pity.
Has always said "7-10 days / 29 Sep to 02 Oct" on the Apple web order status page, but now progressed to "Preparing for Dispatch" which I'm taking as a good sign? I'm away for a week from the 1st, so I'm really hoping it'll come towards the beginning of their delivery window rather than the end ...
As others have said above, I'm pleased for those who'll be getting their phones sooner, a bit cross with those who've bought two just to keep one, and trying to maintain a sense of perspective that "it's only a phone folks"

Yeah, first and only email from Apple about the order since Friday, I think that makes sense, so 8:40 is basically the time I made the order. Is that not still relatively early for a 19/9 delivery or am I right at the end, I seemed to get in when I saw others were having trouble with the page not going live
Has anyone who reserved a phone for instore pickup had any email apart from the first confirmation one? I kind of expected it to show up under 'My reservations' in the Apple Store app but it hasn't.
Also, does anyone know the stores are likely to have decent stocks of covers on Friday? I've never used an iPhone in a cover before but these curvy glass edges have me slightly concerned...

Ive just been in to the Apple store in Solihull theres no cases for the 6 or six plus to buy and they didn't know when they were arriving.
The reviews I've read go on about the rounded edges being a bit tough on the hands i.e. not easy to grip, so I'll see what difference a year makes. I did however intentionally get the Silver phone which is more my wife's preference so if I find some love for the 5.5 the 4.7 can just get handed down.I'm 5.8" and I have a Galaxy S4 at the moment with a 5" screen. I don't have any problem using it with 1 hand
I think 5.5" iPhone is pretty big if you come from an iPhone 5/5s (even bigger from a 4/4s), but next year, after 1 year using a 4.7", you'll want a bigger one! 5.2" would be probably the perfect size, 5.5" is a bit extreme but not too much after all
Since I was rushing the order I didn't buy applecare + with my order. Anyone know what the process is to get it? I know you can do it instore or on the phone, but how do they do it over the phone?

They would probably have some at the Bull Ring store, although going anywhere near that store after tomorrow would be madness for a couple of weeks. They have people queuing outside there on a normal Saturday.
