Finally!!

It does, i think the older 'applecare' has been discontinued. But Applecare + (plus) gives 2 claims of any damage essentially. Not much more than a case so I'm getting it.

Not much more than a case? Its £79!

Plus don't you have to pay for repairs for those 2 claims?

I've got mobile insurance with Natwest through my current account. I had a water damaged 5 and they swapped it out the next day for a brand new one.

Obviously the insurance through the bank is more but also covers travel insurance, breakdown cover etc. all of that makes me see no benefit in AppleCare

I have a radical suggestion for anyone wanting to get an iPhone 6 this Friday: http://www.dixonstravel.com/iPhone_6.aspx

You could buy a fully flexible ticket on BA to Manchester for 4PM or thereabouts, get to the airport at 6AM, get though security and have a coffee while you wait for Dixons to open. Once you have a phone in hand you can find someone from BA customer services and say that your plans have changed, could they please cancel your ticket and let you out of the airport.

The price for a fully flexible one way ticket to Manchester is £310 if anyone wants to play this game.

Edit: They don't say so on that link but I have an email from them that says "iPhone 6 available at Dixons Travel, Heathrow from 8am on Friday 19 September 2014.*"

"*iPhone 6 available in Dixons Travel at Heathrow from 8am on Friday 19 September 2014, subject to availability."

I'm flying to Bangkok from Heathrow on Friday evening. If my phone hasn't been delivered by then I plan on buying one in the Duty Free area, if there are any

How did that work did they send a currier to collect and replace.

I only ask as I also have the same insurance and have never had to claim but am interested in how it works

Your order's been picked at our warehouse, ready for delivery. We'll let you know when it's with our courier and on its way to you.

I ordered yesterday! WHAT!

Yeah its not the cheapest in the world but £79 for 2 years coverage isn't too bad I guess. I had the Barclay's insurance but its so much hassle, you have to register your phone with them, then wait 21 days before you can claim, plus the £100 excess when you have an iPhone and £7.50 per month, but it does cover other gadgets and loss/theft also. So the £55 excess per claim isn't too bad especially since you can get it swapped on the spot in an Apple store.

Might look into the Natwest one since you get more benefits.

Overordered? - changed your mind?

Hello. If anyone has ordered two or more phones or thinks they've made a mistake and is looking to release an iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Silver or Gold, I'd happily travel 150 miles from Lancaster, Lancashire and exchange funds on Friday.

Or even give you a lift to an Apple store

Thanks.

Whoop whoop wife's iphone6 64gb gold preparing to dispatch for delivery on the 19th :D

But my 6+ isn't coming until the 10th-17th October :(

Might have to tell her the order got cancelled and she will have to wait ;)

Any one going to bother updating to ios 8 on their current iPhone or any one like me not going to bother.

I'd rather wait and see it on my new iPhone 6 to be honest

I'm not sure. I'm going to end up selling my iP5 in a week anyway. But I love new things. I'm just not sure.

Yup. It was a cpw managed swap out so it did sim lock itself but wasn't and issue for me.

Courier came next day took my handset and gave me a replacement in a plain white box.

When I made the claim I only had the handset a few months and the lady dealing with my claim said the replacement was brand new

I want to wait but I know what I'm like probably will load it onto the ip5 but the wife gets her ip6 on Friday so might just check it out on hers

To anyone here who is fretting about delivery of an Apple order promised for Friday because they have not had a dispatch notification, I say don't worry.

You will have your shiny new gadget on Friday. Apple rarely fails to deliver in accordance with their promises. They have never failed me on pre-orders of the iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, 4s, and 5. :)

Sadly, I had to queue for the 5s and it was an abysmal experience spoilt by the hoards of scalpers.

I queued for the original iPhone as well, back in November 2007, but that was fun.

I remember queuing alongside a hoard of 5 other people outside a Carphone Warehouse for the original.

How times have changed!!

Out of interest, did ANYONE here manage to reserve anything at Meadowhall?

and if so, if you've got a spare - I'm interested :p

Interesed in knowing how many people managed to reserve at Meadowhall anyway though...

Someone at work has just ordered a 6 64gb and been told it will be delivered on Friday!

Not sure if this is of any use to any one but i took out a new EE sim-only contract last week for 19.99 for 2GB data and 2000 minutes.

Today EE have released new sim-only plans and as i was an existing customer (albeit of less than a week) i rang up to see what deal i could get in light of these new packages.

Came away with 10GB of data, unlimited minutes, texts and 0800 numbers in addition to European roaming for £21.99 a month :)

Anyone else get this whose gone with EE? #

Yes! I received it at 16:01 this afternoon. I hope it's just a general text that they've sent out to everyone. Keyword being "within", I'm still holding hopes for a Friday delivery
