O2 confirm online pre-orders starting at 8:01 tomorrow morning :

Are you ready?
You wanted to hear the latest news about Apple products. And here is the news you've been waiting for.
iPhone 6 is launching on Friday 19 September, and you can pre-order online tomorrow (Friday 12) from 8.01am. Or pop into your nearest O2 shop.
Get iPhone 6 with O2 Refresh on a 2GB or 5GB tariff. Plus, you can double your data for just £5 if you need more once you get started. Better still, choose our 20GB tariff and get 6 months free phone insurance, access to a Platinum customer service team, and the choice of 6 free cinema tickets or a £30 Debenhams voucher.
So, tomorrow's the day. Just remember to set your alarm clock.
Be more dog.

Check out iPhone 6

It's all the same data from your account. I changed my card details via the website and when I checked the app it had the same new card on it.

As an aside, if you have updated your credit card details recently, it may be worth going onto the iTunes or App Store and buying something cheap (even a free app may do it). You will get asked to confirm your card security. Better to do that now than at 8am tomorrow.

I'm not special then?! Boo.

Great tip though, thanks.

Also, quidco are doing 2% cashback on Apple at the moment. May be declined in the end but worth a go perhaps (although obviously won't work with the app)

How do you refresh easily in the Apple Store App, do i have to close it and reopen it for it to refresh or can i keep on cycling back and forth between the two menus on the iphone section.

Not quite sure, i imagine the best way to refresh it properly would be to close the app completely by double tapping the home button and then swiping the app up to close it and removing it that way and then re-launching it.

But the other ways you mentioned may work also.

So preorders will be 8am UK time (midnight Pacific Time) if it was Midnight in each region then it would already be on pre order in Australia (which it isnt)

Let's see in 2 hours. Will be 8am in Sydney when it's 11pm.

Also a good indicator on lead times and how fast shipping estimates start increasing

It won't start at 8am in Sydney.

Preorders are likely to start at midnight Pacific Time, which just happens to be 8am here. It will be mid afternoon in Sydney.

Quick question...

I'm pre-ordering first thing at 8am obviously, but i'm using my debit card registered to my address but want the phone sent to my sisters address. Will they allow this or does it have to be sent to the cardholders address?

Reason being, i live in a new build flat and it's not properly road signed and i've had countless deliveries just leave because they cant find the address and obviously i don't want this to happen with my iphone.

I've got all the cardholders address and delivery address setup in the Apple Store App correctly, but just wanted to make sure i wont run into any problems during those crucial minutes when pre-ordering?

Thats good advice mate, just downloaded a free app and it asked me for my card details even though I'd updated it on the Apple Store app.

I think it has to be the card holders address initially, then you can change the delivery address once your order is confirmed.

After reading your post, i've just done the same (downloaded a FREE app) and it's asked me to re-enter all my payment details again. So i suggest EVERYONE does this before pre-ordering to avoid problems.

Hmm, thanks, i'll order it to my address first just to be safe and then change it after if i can.

I've kept the same card details but turned on express checkout via the website and not the app earlier today.
Have just downloaded a free app from the App Store on my phone and it's not asked me to comfirm card details. Thought it would be worth checking though.

Yeah thanks, good advice this.

It's ages since I've bought any apps, free or otherwise, and I installed the iOS 8 GM yesterday. For whatever reason, downloading a free app just now did indeed ask for further verification and I'm pleased I did it now and not at 0800 tomorrow :)

Three sim-only plans

It may be relevant for some that all the 'all you can eat' data plans on three now include tethering for 4GB a month. I'm considering getting one and I'll tether my ipad instead of using separate sim for it.
Also, Three has the list of countries you can just use your allowance for free with (ie all you can eat data!) which has recently has USA added (plenty of others there too)
Three? Please feel free to give me commission on my plug! :D

What data plans are people on? I'm currently on unlimited but they seem harder to come by and might have to make a sacrifice on it tomorrow, can't be spending £50 a month on my contract.
Now, 6 or 6+ :p

Have you guys had better luck with the Carrier Delivery option or the Postal Delivery option on pre-orders?

The Postal Delivery generally arrives in the morning right? I understand that on normal orders Postal Delivery arrives a day or two later, but the launch date is on the 19th, which is surely enough time to get it on launch day through Postal Delivery.

I don't think you will be offered postal delivery as an option when ordering an iPhone.

Just a heads up to anybody popping into a 3 store tomorrow.

They are opening at 8am instead of 9/10.

The handsets can only be delivered to the store you order them in - not home/work.

I wanted to upgrade at my local branch for collection at store near work but not possible on the system I've been told.

Edit: and the tariffs are very good - thats all they could say today!

They didn't tell you when they were planning on announcing the tariffs then?

I'm on a 3 ultimate internet 600 which is all you can eat data, 600 mins and 5,000 texts on a 12 month contract (I'm 2 years in). I pay £15 per month.

I just had to go into my Account Details and then into the card details section and it automatically asked me for my security code. Does this mean I'm all set?

I was told they can't discuss until the store opens tomorrow morning so won't be published until 8am. In fairness, the sales agent agreed that it wasn't the best way to to business but said if they released their prices the other networks would tweak theirs to offer better deals - which would have been good for us!

Strange, I updated my card details in the Apple Store app and tried downloading a free app, no prompt.

Im hoping they do pre-orders this year! Looking to go straight to CPW as i hear they tend to have more stock then the individual carriers!

CPW have a very tight relationship with Apple, so yes, they typically get the lion's share of the stock. I'd get in touch tomorrow morning though to try and guarantee one.

3 seem to be the best imo, i've just tried finding the best deals on their site but they've changed the whole website layout and i can't be bothered (bloody idiots).

But i'm on a 1 month rolling contract, i get unlimited data, 5000 texts and 200 minutes for £12.90 a month. I used to be on exactly the same deal but with 600 minutes for £18.90 a month. But they may have changed since i signed up. If you're willing to get stuck in a 12 month or 24 month contract, then the prices will be cheaper, but i prefer not to be stuck in contracts.

:)
