14 grace period applies for all contracts etc, It applies the board, from phone contracts, to car finance, and mortgages.

It's a legal right, it over rules company policies. Some companies may make it difficult but any financial commitment comes with a 14 day grace period.

I don't know how you got it so wrong, there has never been a legal right of cancellation for signing a contract or buying an item in a store and and then changing your mind.

Oh. Well there we go then!

Looks like a roll out will be easy in terms of hardware, but the Apple gets a cut of transactions through Apple Pay, thus they will still need to forge partnerships. I imagine Subway, McDonalds, Disney etc will be first as in the US.

I think the roll out here also will be easy, in no time you'll see those everywhere.

TFL already testing NFC payment as it is, many more to adopt the idea fairly quality i'd imagine .

Hey Guys!

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Usually turn up on launch day around 6.00am to get the iHandset but I'm going to preorder this time around with O2.

I'm due an upgrade... What is my best method come 8.01? Through the My O2 app, after pressing "Upgrade"..? Or through the site, or phone call, etc?

Thanks for your help, guys!

TOMORROW!

Out of interest, has anyone bought an iPhone from Apple online store with an Asda Money Credit card. Did you have any issues? I fancy earning 0.5% cash back aha. But only if it goes through ok.

Hi..

By preordering/reserving for collection does that guarantee a phone on release day?
I.e. No chance of arriving on the Friday to be told they've sold out..?

Next Friday afternoon I'm going to try it out at Gregg's and then wetherspoons to celebrate my new arrival!(fingers crossed I get one - hurry up Three and tell what time I've got to get up! Night shift is **** at these times :-( ).

Aye but will TFL partner with Apple Pay?

Also I'd say Oyster is quicker than Apple Pay lol.

Ah, those fine British establishments.

Yes, as long as you pre-order/reserve quickly after 8AM and not hours later, then you will have no problems. :)

I am sure they will have too, a lot of iPhone users i'd imagine will complain for being excluded out off :apple:Pay feature... I think i'll be one of those people feeling left out and will complain about it.

Pressing 'Upgrade' in the My O2 app just redirects you to the online upgrades page anyway so it's no different than doing in online on a pc!!!

Personally, I'm either gonna call O2 or use their chat service, which also works on the iPhone. Their website is gonna crash under the strain of everyone trying to order online so I think this is the best way - for me anyway!

;)

There is a quote from visa saying Apple Pay won't be brought to the UK till 2015.

Correct. 14 day grace period applies online or over the phone thanks to distance selling regulations, but in store, very few networks allow returns at all. Sure stores like Cpw CAN return them physically, but barring exceptional circumstances, the network literally refuses to disconnect the account, so you're stuck paying for it, except you don't have the phone because you've given it back to the store...

Has anyone used the pre 9:30am delivery option before? I have to leave for a holiday at 8:50am on the 19th, I'm wondering about the chance of getting it delivered before then.

My case arrived from Amazon today and it's not as huge as I thought is would be. Still seems to sit nicely in my hand. Setting my alarm for tomorrow morning. Hope I can get ordered ok. :)

i would imagine the chances aren't great. In previous years there were no delivery choices, just standard delivery that turned up at some point on launch day.

Do you have a store nearby?

Apple retail website has confirmed iPhone 6 can be reserved tomorrow for pick up in store. I'm def doing that tomorrow and collecting early on 19th as I hate waiting around for the delivery man to arrive. Great news!

Does reserved mean you pay for it online, or can you reserve then pay/upgrade your contract in store? I can't seem to find any information regarding this.

EE aren't saying much either. I called them and I was told, "We cannot release the prices yet."

The woman on the phone seemed to think that EE preorders start on the 19th.

My upgrade date is the 18th but I can actually afford the iPhone 6 Plus until the 22nd. I am hoping that I will be able to reserve one to collect then.

There is for a loan or credit, which a mobile contract is see here.

As pointed out in the linked article that only applies to contracts arranged online, over the phone or elsewhere off the premises...so if you buy your phone/sign your contract in store then it doesn't apply.

You also automatically forfeit your right to cancel as soon as you connect your device to the network.
