UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

"The Email"

Just joined this forum to post my findings, hopefully this will save you all some time waiting on hold:

I too received the email yesterday saying i'd get my 6 Plus 128Gb today (20th).

Some details: Ordered 12th Sept @ 8.42am (time of confirmation email) - delivery date was 30th Sept - 3rd Oct.

According to UPS i am in the 19:10 Incheon Korea group

I waited 2 hours on the phone to talk to apple (spoke to them at 15:00). They said that Apple WILL honour delivery on the 20th for EVERYONE that received the email - she was certain about this (read into that what you will).

She mentioned that although UPS offices close at 2pm, they have an "exception" with UPS to deliver all the phones today to people who have received the emails. In her words "we just don't know what time it will be, could be as late as 10, but you will get your iPhone 6 Plus today".

I hope she's right - I'm a contractor so taking time off work waiting for deliveries hurts the paycheck quite a bit :(

If that's the case, surely you could just stop worrying about it and wait? Should you happen to get the delivery when nobody's home, they'll leave a card - and you can reschedule for a known date.

And all these people waiting on the freephone line to Apple for ages, desperate for a personal delivery update... We wonder why Apple's prices are so high - who do we think ends up paying for all these "free" calls, which aren't really necessary at all?

Cos at the moment us Korea 19:10 ppl haven't had any movement since yesterday morning......so I'm wondering whether we are actually going to get it next week at all......our shipment could have been lost or something......as long as I get a status update soon so I know it's actually on the move I'll be fine :D

I would bet £100 she's wrong.

I just use FlightRadar24's website, then apply a filter on the left box for "UPS" then zoom all the way out to see the whole planet... not that many of them between Asia/Europe. Click on each plane and it tells you where it came from and where it's going to.

I wish i never got this ****** email - i would have gone to work today and been back by now and if it came later would have had a hell of a surprise!!!

As it is I've sat at home doing nothing but counting the hours I'm not getting paid lol. On the plus side got to see a quality F1 qualifying session!

I popped into the Apple Store yday and tried the 6 ( I have the plus). I loved the size and I agree it's more manageable! If you think the plus is too big then you'll love the 6!

For me I like the large screen.

Strange I m still unsure of my 6 and holding on till midnight to see if I can get a 6 plus that my gf got on reservation last night .p.s reserve and collect was on at 6 :15 this morning as well

Mine is the same as this apart from the order time which was 8.41am on the 12th.I doubt we will see delivery until Monday at the earliest
 
Just went to pick up my reservation and they didn't have the 64GB phone I ordered they only had 16GB.

Should have made the reservation for 9AM

I went out in the end from 11-3.....gave up hope after the UPS person on the phone said Monday....but now I'm just hoping that's gonne be true, not even giving the slightest thought about the possibility of today.....I just want any sort of movement on UPS site to prove our shipment is still alive lol
 
anyone want to crowdfund me to fly to korea and kick JIm JUm Jongs butt as bet he's behind all this hassle!
 
My midnight reservation for collection from Apple Store lakeside, was also a no go. Glitch, says the email they just sent. Lakeside have nothing

I've found the plane I think, it's UPS182 flight number 5X182 isn't it?

Yep, another left from Korea for Shenzhen too, that's UPS195, that seems to cover all places they're stuck at the moment. Shanghai, Shenzhen and Incheon.

2 planes to pick them all up and get them over here for Monday deliveries!
