So this is my story. I pre ordered a 6 plus 128gb SG at 9.05am on the 12th.

Got a del est 10/10 - 17/10.

Well still showing as processing. After getting fustrated watching everyone get their phones through online res, I thought I would just check my local store for my spec.

Low and behold, what do you know....

Res placed at 5am and now sitting on the bus to Norwich to gety phone as I write this.

The whole preorder system is a joke, and completely wrong that stock is being handed out to stores and not preorders that were taken weeks ago.

Anyway, I'm cancelling as soon as I have my phone in hand.

Good luck to everyone else who's stuck with long del dates.

Yehp this seems to be the situation most people are in. It does need sorting out by Apple, the people that are patiently waiting via online preorder should be first to get there phones. Although I think Apple is doing it this way because it classes the online pre-orders as sales and they want to sell more in store to increase figures :(

Next stop will be Cologne (Germany) and then to Stansted or East Midlands depending on where you are in the country. Its usually out for delivery the same day it arrives at one of these airports. Not sure if they are still doing Saturday deliveries tho.

Thanks for the info. It hasn't updated to say it has left Dubai yet, but if it hasn't already, I am sure it'll leave before morning. The tracker says delivery Tuesday by end of day, but I'm hoping they'll deliver it Monday.

Hopefully Sunday I will see it updated to show it in the UK then out for delivery on Monday. I start training for a new job in Kingston so having it delivered to my husband's office. Will just have to take the National Rail from Kingston to Vauxhall when I'm done to pick it up from him :)

Same position here, ordered on the 12th at 9.00am. Pre-order seems to total wate of time and in store reservation is not much use if you don't live near an apple store. Wouldn't be so bad if you could arrange to pick up on a specific day rather than same day only.

Even if I bought it online? For two weeks or later?

If it is within warranty they will fix it... my wives iPhone 3Gs bought though Orange developed a screen problem ... took it to an Apple Store ..they agreed it was defective and swapped the screen out there and then... the phone was about 10 months old at the time ... now with was a few years back, but I have had issues with items bought online and if there is a problem with it they will sort it out int he store.

I would expect Monday is a possibility as I would expect the next UPS flights from Cologne will be early Monday morning into the UK and out for delivery the same day. Fingers crossed for you.:D

No, that's not what the law says, and it isn't even under EU law. You've manged to confuse a few things. The EU brought out a Directive for time to claim on defective goods in the eu as being a minimum of 2 years.

The UK has never brought the EU Directive into law, because the UK already has a longer period set in law, namely the Sale of Goods Act (SoGA), what SoGA says, is that a consumer has redress to the courts for up to 6 years for faulty goods. Unfortunately the onus of proof for the fault falls on the buyer after 6 months, and the durability of the item is also considered by the court in any action. A mobile phone would never be considered as durable for 6 years.

Apple has just standardised at 2 years across the EU, and only if they were the retailer, if you buy an iPhone (or other Apple product) at another retailer you will normally be referred to that retailer if a problem occurs as under SoGA the retailer is liable, NOT the manufacturer.

Here is Martin Lewis of MoneySavingExpert.com's blog post about the EU warranty myth:

Oh my misunderstanding.

But I have successfully used this to get 3 to fix a iPhone that was supposedly "out of warranty" after 14 months. The process was to lodge a claim with 3 who approved, pay apple to get the phone fixed myself, and then they discounted the cost off my future bills within my time left on the contract.

Stock constraints seem to be easing now but I thought I'd mention this here in case it's of any use to anybody. I bought a 64GB Space Grey 6 and 6+ and have decided to go with the 6. I can return the 6+ to an Apple Store but if anybody wants to take it off my hands, it's available for collection in Manchester (Uni Campus.)

Yes, it's quite possible to get a decent retailer to resolve issues in the first 24 months, but this isn't under a "warranty" but under the Sale of Goods Act, and if a retailer did refuse to help, it would entail taking them to court for resolution.

This is another reason to deal direct with Apple, as they have become pretty good at dealing with faults in that second 12 month period as if still under warranty.

Hey guys. Does anyone know how much time does it take for some iphones with a reasonable price on ebay (uk)? I'm from malta and there's no Apple store nearby. Or if someone can help, please pm. Thanks :)

Thanks all on this thread for the tip. Stayed up until 12.12 last night, reserved my IP6 SG 64GB for local store pick up. Went today, waited 20 mins and walked out with new phone and leather case. Awesome experience! :)

Yeah mine is also in Dubai, same plane obviously. Think it goes to Germany next. Hoping it could maybe get here by Monday. Fingers crossed

Thanks! Just holding on to hope that it'll get here a day early since there is two days to get from the middle east to the UK. Gives me a little hope that you said they typically go out for delivery the same day as they get to the airport, though. Who knows? Maybe Monday will be the lucky day

Probably is the same plane :)

Here's to hoping it'll be here on Monday! (I'm assuming your delivery date is estimated for Tuesday as well?)
