UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

iPhone 6 64GB Space Grey:
Ordered 23rd October
Shipped 5th November
Delivery Estimate 11th November.
UPS tracker now showing out for delivery today, 7th November. That's two weeks from ordering. Impressed.

Pleased for you. But for me sigh...........

Surprised about the wait times still as Apple stores seem to have stock.

Ordered my Mum a 6 64Gb SG and it's saying it will be delivered the end of the month!

Really need to get my iPhone 6 ordered. I'm just dithering like a fool over who to go with.

The intention was to buy outright from apple. But I had a leak in the roof so had to spend the cash I'd saved on that so buying outright is no longer an option. Annoying. Since I've done this with every iPhone I've owned. Besides the 4s which I got a great deal on via O2. On a 12 month contract. Which were like gold dust at the time.

Giffgaff have an offer. £200 upfront. Then £15.53 a month for 24 months. But no included airtime so I can continue to use the £10 sim only I have.

I can't find anything better than this but really am loathed to tie myself into anything for two years.

This year I took out a sainsburys credit card that gives 0% on purchases for 18 months. This way I control my own contract. Sim free from apple and PAYG sim from three. I purchase an all in one 15 package (£15 per month). Savings on average £120 doing it this way. I can also back out of a service provider whenever I want. I have full control. Best way.

Nice one Rich.
Not as good as yours but I get cash back on the purchase and I too am taking a 3 SIM only deal.
Either a £20 All you can eat data and 600 minutes, or the top £25 everything all you can eat. That and both also have 4GB tethering.

Yeah. That's an option.

The giffgaff option works out at £30 more than buying direct from apple and using a £10 sim only and I'm not tied in to any provider. So can switch if there's any sim only offers etc. I currently get 1000mins 5000sms and 1gb from tesco for £10 which is more than enough for me.

I'm also contemplating getting a cheap android and saving again to just buy the 6s outright next year as that really is my preferred way of getting iPhones. All the contract deals are outrageous. Sim only deals have shown us how cheap airtime actually is. And the contracts are around £38-£45 some with cash upfront too, which works out over £1000 for the two years which is just outrageous for a phone.

I just need to make my bloody mind up.

I agree totally ridiculous, if you opt for a cheaper 6+ upfront cost you're looking at £48-£53 per month on O2 #. So I bought the phone outright & plan to bully# O2 into matching cheaper sim only deals other carriers are offering

In the interim when the 6+ turns up I just 've to ride out my current contract till Dec

Good luck with O2. I left them after 10+ years last year because they wouldn't even come close to matching sim only deals from other providers.

Closest they would get was 500 less mins. And 500mb less for £6 more. Yeah okay O2.

Several friends and family had exactly the same. O2 no longer seem interested in keeping customers.

I am still debating just getting a cheap android like the Moto g and using that until the 6s is released. Or going with the giffgaff deal.

I could keep my iPhone 5 but by this time next year it will be worth a lot less than its worth now. So want to get it sold whilst it's still worth selling.

Hey has anyone had experience with CURRYS iPhone 6s?

Are they sim free or do they lock to first sim network you put in?

had several conflicting reports:eek:

Been with O2 since forever , but prepared to jump ship to EE if they don't play ball. Am eyeing a 12mth 4G 2GB data unlimited min & txt deal for £16 a month; available till end Jan 2015. On the flip side EE reviews so far are'nt encouraging

Check tesco mobile (they piggy back o2's network). I pay £10 a month for 1000mins. 5000sms and 1gb 4g data. But they do more data too.

They do 2000mins and 2gb for £15. And I believe if you go for the £10 one adding another GB is £2.50

Worth a look.

As a word of caution - I've had my girlfriend, two colleagues, and two close friends move away from EE recently all for the same reason – their bills were NEVER the right amount. The customer service is particularly bad with Orange/T-mobile too.

I'd recommend Three, personally, if you need cheap. But I'm mainly here to warn you of EE. I'd stick with O2 if you can afford to.

This is actually looking appealing if they hook onto O2 network besides who needs unlimited txt & mins these days def not me! I need more data & and good reception#...

Looking like am going to have to cut some deal with O2, most of the carriers with cheap deals are'nt that great on Customer Services. I checked out tesco mobile turns they are not on the favourite list.#

As mentioned the best way to stay in control is to pay a few quid extra and stick with PAYG. Steer clear of contracts. If only contracts didn't exist then service and cost would be so competitive thus much improved. Unfortunately we are our own worst enemy and want ever cheaper bills squeezing quality of service on a downward spiral yearly. Then once the system crashes all of a sudden people want to pay more to get better service !? Lol. Crazy . I've tried them all and the biggest problem I had was frustratingly slow data speeds , but everytime I've gone back to Three because they are faultless with data speed and I'd say average to good reception coverage out of town . In town no problem and and 4G as standard although I find 3G perfectly adequate and not really sure what the 4G fuss is all about tbh. It runs your battery down quicker and if your data restricted then you use your quota up quicker !!?? Three used to have a bad name ( years ago!!) but I hear more and more people mentioning they are with them . Me included. We just need to boycott contracts ! :)

Ha, indeed. Basically you've got a choice between Vodafone, O2 and Three here in the UK. The rest are like the Ryanair's of carriers.

I pay £15 per 30 days for 2000 + 5000 (3-to-3) minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited 4G data with 4GB tethering.

It's a very old plan, I jumped on this SIM-only band wagon in the early days. As you can see from this thread alone, more and more people are doing it, so the prices have been hiked quite steeply.

That said, Three have stood by their word and never updated the price I pay each 30 days, or even asked me to consider upgrading/changing plan. Since it's a 30-day contract, they're under no legal obligation to let me stay paying less than everyone else, and I respect that.

I only moved to Three from O2 because O2 were too late to the party with SIM-only deals. O2 were fine, and Vodafone are good too (family on Vodafone). Vodafone do seem to have particularly good customer service.

I've always had great CS from tesco. No waiting hours on hold like I did with O2 and any issue (I've had to call three times) has been dealt with right away.

I called once when I set up my account and they have me a £10 good will gesture, IE a free month because I'd had to call (my bill showed as £10 more). This was corrected right away and the £10 discount was applied.

Tesco are a world better than O2 customer service wise.

O2 CS has always been shockingly bad IMHO. When I cancelled they charged me £150 early termination fee despite me not ending the contract early. Took me a month to get a refund. The CS reps where as helpful as a chocolate fire guard.

Can someone post a link to the shock checked please?

I had it bookmarked but for some reason it's disappeared.

Ordered my Space Grey 6 Plus 128gb on the 6th November with next day delivery from O2, it arrived before 12 on the 7th. Very happy so far.

Pleased for you.....
I on the other hand ordered the exact same model on the 15th Oct from the Online Apple Store with a wait time of 4 weeks which times out tomorrow BUT my order form has been sat at 'Processing' for some while.

Question to those that ordered and received from the Apple Store ~ How long did your order sit at 'Processing' before it changed to dispatch?
Tomorrow is 4 weeks and still nothing back from Apple.

Hm. Strange, stock levels across the board seem to vary wildly, you'd think Apple themselves would have the bulk?. For my part i'm assuming i was just lucky, wasn't really expecting it to be next day despite what O2 said.
