Yeah, they're locked.

iOS 8.1.2 I highly doubt this is the new iPhone. That would be an amazing score but I have a feeling it won't be a three core. Probably 2 core and arguably the m8 would make it 3 core

I still can not make up my mind: should I wait for the delivery on Friday or should I go and pick up my reservation. Exactly the same phones... Can I still cancel the order at all? My slot on Friday is 8.15am.... Not sure if I can wait until I get me delivery :D

How have you managed to reserve it online ? It's showing not available until the 26th..

Honestly people who do this really annoy me. Depriving people of their chosen model because you want to cover both of your bases. You should've canceled your order as soon as you reserved a model in store and let others in.

This was taken back in March whilst the device was being tested. Theoretically jumping to three cores instead of sticking to two cores would make more sense. Apple stated that the 'A9' processor is 70% better then the A8.

The multi-score for the A8 is 2880, so we times this by 1.7 which gives us around 4900. Now the test doesn't report as high as this number but if we would like to see a 70% increase from a dual core processor then we would need to see a single core by clocked around 2.4 ghz per core which I highly doubt will happen.

Dick move bro.

I wonder who in this thread will be the first to get their hands on the new toy!? :D

I've got an 8.30am pick up appointment for my 6S+, so I'm hoping to be home by 10 to play with it!

Would be rude to post pix before I leave the Apple Store!?

Shall we declare a race?! I gave a reservation at 8am and a preorder so my phones could race each other :p

I have my appointment at 8 AM :) Will deffo post a pic even as they process my credit card :)

Selfies in store with new phones!

I'll be here.

Well... In the UK iPhone 7 thread haha

Does that thread start next Saturday ha ha?

In similar boat as wasn't quick enough to cancel my online order though want the fun of collecting in store at least once - dilemma will prob be which one to return!

I don't think we can return online orders to stores and not sure I want the delay and hassle of returning via mail.......

Haven't had a iPhone since the 4 and have been using a SG3 for the last 3 years on a £12.90 all you can eat data sim only contract on Three. I now want to get a iPhone 6S Plus 128GB Grey but not sure about changing networks.

Options

1) Buy iPhone outright from Apple (currently showing 3 to 4 weeks) and keep my Three contract.
Pros - I can upgrade when i want, All you can eat data and no hassle changing network
Cons - £789 is allot to pay out in one go, Three doesn't have the greatest coverage

2) Take out a new Contract on EE unlimited/unlimited/5GB = £395 upfront and £32 for 24 months
Pros - £395 is more manageable and EE might be better than Three (never used more than 3GB in a month)
Cons - I have no idea when I'll receive the iPhone through affordablemobiles.co.uk, Won't have unlimited data anymore and EE could possibly be worse than Three

What should I do, any opinions and is that right that If i ordered from Apple I could be waiting 3 to 4 weeks for shipping?

PS I'm also hoping the 6S+ will completely replace my IPad Air, I have an Nvidia Sheild Tablet I can use for when I must use a tablet!

Yes it does make sense. But do we really need 3 cores in the iPhone? We don't have multi tasking. Personally think it would be much better to make the single cores faster. Then you would benefit from anything you do. Hopefully giving us a third core is for a future feature.

Sorry I may be wrong with my thinking. Not too knowledgeable about processors. But I have never noticed any problems with speed with my 6+

Buy outright. Hold on to your sim only like your life depends on it. You will never be able to get as good a deal these days.

When I go to my support profile it now says iPhone 6s plus and the serial number. Does that mean its shipped? it still says preparing for shipment though.

The only way to know if it's shipped is to put your reference number in Fedex or Ups under package search. But sometimes even that isn't reliable. Mine has been preparing for shipment for almost 48 hours, and still nothing.

Just wait for the delivery. Your guaranteed the delivery phone. You don't need to buy one in store just to get one earlier. I have two iPhone 6S 64GB Silver phones reserved for in-store pick-up. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. I'm only buying one of them though. I made two pre-orders in case I oversleep or work wants me to come in early. The phone that, I don't pick up will just be sold to someone else after the time slot.

In my opinion only one time slot should be allowed per person.

This is why we have scalpers.

haha, it's okay buddy. Yeah, you might be right tho. I think the reason they're adding another core in is because a higher clocked dual core at 2.0 ghz - 2.4 ghz would use more battery then a processor with three cores because the additional cores are only used when they're needed, hence it would cause less strain on the processor.

It's more about increasing the performance but also keeping the battery in mind.
