I still can not make up my mind: should I wait for the delivery on Friday or should I go and pick up my reservation. Exactly the same phones... Can I still cancel the order at all? My slot on Friday is 8.15am.... Not sure if I can wait until I get me delivery :D

Why not stick with one and go with it. Free up a pre order or reservation for somebody else. :p

Relived to get an email from Envirophone offering a 7 day extention. Was due to be received by by them no layer than 24/09 but I'm having a hell of a time backing up my phone to iCloud and my laptop :( this buys me more time.

Love the hate for me... :) just so everyone knows, these were done on 2 accounts, because we wanted to make sure we get the phone. With the confirmation not showing until late Saturday afternoon I personally think this move should not cause bother at all! And with the status changing so quick, I didn't have much choice to cancel. The phone in store will be allocated to someone else in store who might change their mind and also, I have not heard of anyone that didn't manage to get a phone....

In my opinion only one time slot should be allowed per person.

This is why we have scalpers.
This year you can only make two pre-orders per Apple ID. I made a back-up reservation in case I can't make the first one. It's not really my fault if somebody decides they want one of the phones last minute and the pre-order stock has gone.

Come on guys dont hate on those that reserved 2. We all want our phones so many would have done backup reserves.

These phones will go back in stock.
Checked the reservation page and it seems from 6am on saturday morning people will be able to reserve again if the models have not sold.

Im guessing these models will be limited but back in for reservation at 6am next day.

Apple allocate 1 phone per reservation, so if someone really wanted the same model you have reserved, and your aft appt could have been their only chance of picking it up launch day; then yes, it is your fault.

Yea because getting up at 6am for reservation lottery the following morning is really convenient for those who wanted to reserve on launch day.

Try and justify it all you want; but there are people seriously considering in store pick up just so they can have the phone earlier than the courier would arrive. It's a phone and it's pathetic.

In the UK cash is legal tender, you have to be able to accept it, you can't refuse a sale because the buyer wants to pay in cash. If you went to an Apple Store and they said we can't accept cash but will sell it to you if you use a card then that's illegal. Apple are free to refuse a sale to you for any reason and at anytime until the transaction is complete, but not because you wish to pay in cash.

Interestingly though in the UK if you pay for something over a certain amount in cash (far beyond the price of an iPhone), then the seller has to legally declare it to the police, this is to prevent money laundering etc.
Im sure there;s a weird thing where they can refuse to accept anything over a certain amount of coins. I could be wrong, and Id love to see it happen

If I could choose a 26/9 Saturday delivery instead of 25/9. I would do it. It would be more convenient for me with not being at work.

Yes that's true, I guess its for time saving purposes. Imagine going to the apple store and buying your iPhone 6s all in 1p and 2p coins.

Completely agree. It's selfish.

Yeah its just a shame Apple dont believe in Saturday deliveries though
I've always found it a bit odd that Apple don't release new products on Saturdays. It would allow more people to participate in launch day fun with less stressing about missing deliveries etc (not that I am requesting my iPhone on the 26th!).

Says the person on the forum thread for obsessive pre-orderers ;)

Sorry I wasn't aware my presence on a forum can hamper people's chance of the model they want on launch.

I'll leave now shall I? /s

Yes I'm excited for my phone, I'll probably check every day for updates, but I ordered one phone and that's it. People are treating this like Black Friday, and willing to kick others out of the way just to get their phone a little quicker.

I stand by my comments. It's pathetic.

Last year, mine landed at East Midlands Airport at about 0230 on the Saturday morning after launch day. I assumed that it would be delivered on the following Monday. I was very surprised when UPS turned up st 0900 with the phone. I suspect that it was UPS that wanted to get rid of as many orders as soon as possible.

That's not really true; buses in London only take card and don't accept cash.

I recall the 6 launch was pretty big and couriers stated they'd work the Saturday to ensure deliveries got out. Not as big this year I'd say (well for anyone living outside these forums 4 walls )
