In the UK cash is legal tender, you have to be able to accept it, you can't refuse a sale because the buyer wants to pay in cash. If you went to an Apple Store and they said we can't accept cash but will sell it to you if you use a card then that's illegal. Apple are free to refuse a sale to you for any reason and at anytime until the transaction is complete, but not because you wish to pay in cash.

Completely wrong, sorry. Legal tender actually applies to paying a debt to a court in the UK, any retailer can choose to allow or disallow any means of payment. If Apple decided to only accept the Japanese Yen there is nothing anyone can do to force them to change.

In fact, in the UK businesses work on an "offer to treat" meaning a business cannot even be forced to sell you an item at any price (for example the myth of incorrectly priced items have to be sold at the incorrect price, they don't).

Interestingly though in the UK if you pay for something over a certain amount in cash (far beyond the price of an iPhone), then the seller has to legally declare it to the police, this is to prevent money laundering etc.

AML applies to any transaction over the equivalent of €15000, it isn't a retailer specific law and you don't get reported to the police, AML is regulated by the HMRC and enforced via the National Crime Agency.

Ordered with O2.
Anyone know if they send any tracking / additional confirmation week of delivery?
They've gone suspiciously quiet since I confirmed my pre-order.

What screen protectors does everyone use? Glass or plastic? Looking to order one for my 6s.
I've not had a screen protector on my 6. Swore by them up till then. I've got a what I'd say 'standard' usage pattern, phone in pockets, coins, keys sometimes etc and I've not one noticeable scratch or mark. I'm going to stay without a screen protector for the 6s+

I think if you need a screen protector for these phones then they are not designed properly. The 6S has apparently a new screen that is the strongest in the industry so day to day use should have no effect.

None ;). 6 is the only iPhone I haven't used one on. Much better experience without them, I'll never use one again.

Just looked back at my emails from when I ordered my 5s. They only sent tracking info 2 days after it was released to the public! Hopefully not the case this time. I remember they said it should arrive on the 25th.

I've never used screen protectors
No protectors this year for me. Why use them? We all seem to put cheap plastic on the screen (and many do it badly) and we spend a year with a screen covered in scratches and bubbles when in to truth, if you leave it naked the chances of a scratch are next to none. And why do we do it? So the next owner can pay a couple of quid more for a pristine screen? Screw the next guy, let him buy his own brand new phone :)

Especially pointless if you use places like enviro phone.

None - however 'good' they are they detract from the glorious screen. I've had every iPhone since the 3Gs and keep my phone in a pocket with my keys! I have never had any problem and when I sell on its always in almost excellent condition. I do try and put it in my pocket with screen towards material, still plenty of scratch potential if it's going to though :)

To be honest Natwest was top of my list to begin with. But just found out that first direct offer £125 for joining them. Which is pretty good. Touch ID would be an advantage but not the be all and end all. How do you pay cash into a first direct account? Anybody know?
I bank with first direct and pay in via the post office now that a lot of the HSBC branches have closed. I also pay in with a transfer from my building society. Wages etc. are standard bacs. First Direct also supports apple pay. Not had any problems with them in all the years I have been with them and it is nice to speak to someone in this country if you have any problems.
