Who is getting the Apple care? It has gone up quite a bit since the last model, but still not a bad idea. I suppose the force touch screen is quite expensive and it is probably not some thing that can be changed by your local kiosk on the market.

I have insurance with my bank account that has an excess of £100 so will just stick with that. Used it years ago when I damaged my 3gs or 4 - can't remember which. Just remember that I woke up one morning to find my iPhone sitting in a full cup of tea by my bedside. And no I wasn't drunk - just shocked that I fell asleep without finishing my cuppa which is very unlike me (Although excess was only £50 then!)

I too am waiting on iCloud increase so I can switch to iCloud photos!! Using 20gb on my iPhone at the moment.

Also handy to use as a backup for the photos

They usually seem to ship Monday/Tuesday but I believe some shipped Wednesday/Thursday so perhaps they were already in the UK.

It's part of the fun checking the tracking every 5 seconds

Also if everyone else could have a lie in until 8.10 so I can get mine pre ordered that'd be great!!

Same i have 27.7gb on photos PLUS 10.3gb on Hipstamatic photo app (Am prob double storing!). Am increasing from a 64gb to 128gb to manage but would like the cloud back up too.

Really going to have to delete the million pics of food, cocktails and my cats before I do final back up!!

It wouldnt be cheap though. It would be more expensive overall but just more convenient and useful for those with less money. Overall it will be the more expensive way to own an iphone as you are just leasing it or effectively taking out a loan.

I'd beg to differ I think I'm right in saying the below for the iPhone Program.
For example you could get an iPhone 6s+ 64gb for £40 p/m for 2 years (no upfront cost).

You're then getting a unlocked iPhone which you would then go to a carrier of your choice and get a SIM only deal.

One year later the new iPhone comes out and you literally just swap your old for new and carry on with your SIM only deal with the carrier.

If it is £40 that means 40x12=480
My SIM only plan is £20 that mean 20x12=240
Total of 720

Which is £30 more then buying the iPhone outright, the bonus is that I then get Apple Care + for £30 when its cost £120

For me its better doing it this way as I'd then get a new iPhone every year plus Apple Care+ its a game changer

I used to think the 6 Plus was ridiculously huge, but having owned the 6 for a year it now doesn't seem that big, so I'm definitely going Plus this time.

What's everyone doing about colour. I've always gone for black/space grey so am tempted to choose the silver or gold this time.

I don't know tho, you buy the most expensive model outright for say £780 and after a year you sell it for like £350. You still make a loss of around £430. Unless of course you keep all your original phones

Has Azzin posted on this thread yet?

I always bump into him (assumption) on the iPhone launch threads and it's fun laughing about the hype from the year before.

One of the enjoyable things the whole launch process (well to me anyway)
I'm here Brother Sparkie! :D

I'm going to give my 6 to my son and get myself a 6S+.

Here we go!

£350? More like £500. Therefore loss is around £280 vs £450+ cost via apple upgrade method.

That's it we're definitely ready now!!
I'm going 6S+ 64gb but colour is troubling me and I don't have a chance to check them out before Saturday.. I'll probably panic buy space grey. But I do like how you can't see the bezels as easily on the space grey argghhhh

Brother Azzin, ... Have I seen you on another UK forum somewhere. Your ID looks familiar :)

Back on topic. Is the usual process save your credit card details under apple store my account then use website or app to buy in the morning? Lol

Not sure what you are trying to explain. You compare a theoretic 1 yr cost to outright cost of an iphone (i.e 2 yr cost).

Spoke to o2 again. To be honest, from what they're saying it doesn't sound that much will change from the previous year. 6 and 6s is only available on Refresh but still unclear how much of a bump the cost will be on 20 and 30gb. Person I spoke to almost alluded to the fact that nobody would probably get anywhere near that usage so they might just be doing that clever little marketing ploy where you think you're getting more but in reality still only using 1 - 3gb per month.

Could you sell my iPhone 6+ 128Gb for £500 pls?
All the recycling sites were paying £452 ish yesterday. Im sure privately you could have got around £500 last week.

Of course today the prices will be different but that is obvious.

If you want to sell me yours at your £350 price I will take it.

Advise me on my best strategy - I want a 6s but don't need it immediately - could wait until the end of November. However, if I wait a few weeks to order, is there likely to be a stock problem?

I did think I'd just do the pre-order and get it early but have just realised that I'm abroad on launch day and not back until a week later so delivery would be a problem.

Can anyone help me get my head around this?

Currently have a 64gb iPhone 6+. Bought sim free from Apple, using a £28 a month sim only 1 month tariff on it.

Would it be cheaper for me to buy the new iPhone 6s+ outright, staying on the same sim only deal, or would it be cheaper to take out a contract with a provider and get the phone for a subsidied price? The only thing I'm conscious of is I like to upgrade every year, don't want to be stuck in a contract that won't let me upgrade.

Thanks!

Dan

realistically you'd be upgrading your iPhone every year if you done the iPhone Program, you wouldn't not upgrade unless the next iPhone was so bad it was a downgrade.

And its being compared to the outright cost of buying plus paying 1 year for your carrier network service. As I assume most people upgrade every year so one yeah. Regardless of the fact is a two year plan

There aren't many companies that do 12 month contracts unless its SIM only.

I currently have a iPhone 6+ that I got last year I bought out right and pay for a SIM only deal. much better and cheaper I find.

That was how I read it. Not much difference in cost but you get AppleCare. Would consider that next year by which time presumably it will be available in the UK for the 7 release.

Reminds me of how many people buy cars which is essentially like paying the amount of depreciation over the period of the lease so the balance of payment to buy car is the same and the outstanding amount of finance.

I'm glad someone else read it like I did it's been screwing with me all day. Thinking I've over looked something here.

You never know hey might bring it the UK soon.

Although as I typed that I'd imagine it would have to be done on a release of a new iPhone or a few months after so it lines up with future releases

going space grey i think...was tempted by gold to match my air 2

Maybe I should do the same! I do like the white but don't know how I'd feel about it long-term.
I'm not really a fan of the white front, which is why I always go with the black front and space grey back
I wonder if they'll ever do a black front with a non-space grey back

Usually by end November time stock is readily available and apple also usually do a zero percent finance deal. If you can hold off until then I suggest you do so.

I no longer need to worry about getting my phone to Envirophone on time, as a family member wants to buy my 6 Plus (they offered more than Envirophone anyways :p)

So will hand my current 6 Plus to them when I get my 6s Plus.
