Yeah, I'll be doing an encrypted back up too.

Got a text from UK Mail to say my Watch will be delivered between 4:45pm and 5:45pm... Patience isn't my strong point. o_O

Just called DPD to ask about the next step as I also paid to have it delivered early. At this stage the package is still with the sender (Carphone Warehouse) If by any chance that DPD receive the package by tonight then it could be delivered at the ordered time slot. If thats not the case my assumption is that they will be with DPD sometime Thursday ready for a Friday delivery.

I suspect CPW will be packing them all up today/tomorrow, generating dispatch labels and tracking numbers. Then come Thursday they will be handed over to DPD.

I'm thinking I might set my phone as a new device. Rather than restoring from a back up. I'm only going to lose a few settings and iMessages.

Me too. I think it's always nice to get the fresh and new setup experience. I'll lose all my AWatch data though too, and it'll take me weeks to get those achievements again!

OK, this will be my first iPhone, getting a 6s on Friday. Whats everyone's thoughts on battery "conditioning". Should I give it a full charge before turning it on? Or just fire it up and enjoy it?

I'm scaling down to a 6s from a 6 plus. I'm going to miss the battery life, but if it lasts the same time as my watch, then that's ok, as I charge that every night anyway, so might just get myself a dock so they can sit side by side. I have a great nightstand for the AWatch from Orzly.

I'm no battery expert but my understanding is that you can just use it out the box. Don't worry about charging it unless its low. I've never done a full charge first thing when receiving a new iPhone and I've never had any issues. I usually play on release then pop it on charge over night.

I tend to let my iPhone run down to below 20% once a month or so, but apart from that, I just charge how and when is convenient. Batteries have moved on. Conditioning isn't really necessary these days. Relax and enjoy your new phone.

It will use up more battery the first few days, as it updates, downloads apps, indexes etc, and of course you play with it more than usual.

My launch day plan is hope it gets to mine before 8AM (hahahaha unlikely) when I have to get to Gatwick to fly off on holiday. Damn this extra week this time around! Guess it'll be sitting in a box at the house till I return!

Hmm, I may do the same thing too. I've been using my restored data since iPhone 3G and it's got a lot of crap built up...

I can't choose either, I am tempted to have the 6S as a clean slate. Like you I have been running restored data for years! Would be nice if you could just transfer message history and some app data instead of a full backup

Forever checking this thread to see if anyone who ordered through EE has had any sort of update :(

Please post here as soon as you hear anything to put my mind at ease! :D

As you're getting the 6S, I'm pretty sure it'll run down to 20% by itself. My 5S on a moderate usage gets to 20% around 5/6PM

With the Li-ion battery's there is no need to totally discharge then charge to 100%. In fact it can harm the battery. Just run it down below 10 % every now and then. Actually not even sure you have to do that. But do not let it get completely flat if you can avoid it.

You will not be forgotten!

My trusty iPhone 5 has been everywhere with me since launch day in 2012. It's been dropped on floors, buried in the sand, submerged in a city centre water fountain and dunked in a pint. It has always continued to function perfectly (and is aesthetically sound, thanks to a trusty case that requires a folded £5 note behind it to keep it tight).

Only today has it started to give in...

Just as I was closing an old bank account, in the hope of freeing up future credit to purchase the next insanely overpriced Apple release, the speaker crackled and faded out.

You have served me well iPhone 5, but you know it's time to move on.

Huge shouts to Incase for protecting this warrior over the years.

R.I.P

I've got a 6s+ coming on Friday that I'm sending straight back and I'm still clicking on the tracker feverishly! The excitement is too much! No movement so far.

Just curious - How come your sending it straight back? Changed your mind or changed your model?

I've been using this old back up for a few years. Might be nice to start off fresh again.

I never got below 50% by the end of the day on my 6plus since having the AWatch, and I've heard it's about 35-40% better than the 6, so it should make it through the day for me.

Apparently there are tools you can use to extract the message history

I have thought about that, but I don't like to use 3rd party software to mess with files on iOS. The best solution I've come up with is to pay for 50gb of iCloud storage and backup to the cloud. That way only app data and message data etc. is kept without actual OS files. At least I think that's how it works ...

Just hope I can restore my backup of 9.1 beta to my 6S that will be on 9.0 public release. I don't want beta iOS on my 6S!

Space Grey lightning cable just turned up to go with my space grey Apple dock.
