Thanks for answering! I've mostly been rocking a cheap plastic imitation of the Apple leather case in brown. I'll see what the Spigen cases look like for now but might get a dark Apple leather case later.

Am going to do the same with EE today - but really to see if they will better my current sim only deal that is about to expire. Want them to match the Three £11 per month tariff with 2GB data, 200 mins and unlimited text. That is all I need as have wifi at home and in the office.

I have the pink Apple leather case and the pink Apple silicone case. I got the leather one first and then the silicone. Since I got the silicone one I've never used the leather one. The silicone one has a much better grip and has been really durable. 10 months and going strong. I only used my leather case for a few days and it had started wearing at the bottom corners on both sides. Also the one and only time I ever dropped my 6 plus was in the silicone case. I dropped it onto concrete outside and it protected the phone. There wasn't a scratch on the phone and it's still in mint condition after 10 months.

Tempted to try pre order tomorrow. Told myself I'd wait a couple months before picking one up but I'm getting too excited. Last time I did this was for the iPhone 4S. As crazy as it sounds I miss all the hype and constantly checking for updates on delivery to see what stage the order is in and where the package is by tracking courier planes and all that kind of thing!

What are peoples opinions on screen protectors? Are different makes better than others? Never had one and saw that quite a few people are getting one. Spigen have put a new one on Amazon for £9.99. It actually curves around the screen which looks pretty cool. Do they feel much different to touching the screen on the phone normally?

Here is the link if you want to check it out. It is released 21st September.

Personally I don't even bother with screen protectors anymore on my phones. I think that the glass has improved a lot over the years to the point where I couldn't even scratch it if I tried. If it does get scratched then it's after many months of use and only visible under bright light/certain angles. I give up on babying products.

I never bought any crazy expensive screen protectors. I always just bought cheap ones off eBay. They are all just the same thing as far as I can tell except if you want a filter or something on it.

I would imagine Apple Finance will also be available at checkout. I've never pre-ordered from Apple themselves (I upgrade through Vodafone) but I can't see why they wouldn't offer it via Barclays Partner Finance/Paypal Credit. If you can choose BPF at the checkout I'd recommend that over PP as PP charge 17.9% APR (compared to 14.9%).

I have just ordered a 0% Interest Credit Card on new purchases over 26 months, now my question is this, can I pre order using my existing credit card linked to my account then change over to the new card when it arrives in a few days for the payment before the new phone ships ?

Buy it on your existing card and do a balance transfer to your new card if it's free?

Cheers. I've been thinking about the reselling value. I hate cases or anything that hides the phone but my 6+ has a bit of cosmetically damage which means I won't get the full price offered to me from envirofone. But you are right my current screen is pristine after a year, even if the back isn't I might give the screen protector a miss then.

Is there anywhere I can ask a Mod to sticky this thread (as well as the other pre-order threads) for quicker finding/access?

In the past they've done it automatically, but as of yet it doesn't look like they've pinned any of them :(

I'm going to be on holiday on the 25th, (flying back that day, but won't be back until late evening), so won't be around to sign for the delivery if I manage to get a pre order in quickly enough for delivery on the 25th. has anyone had any experience of what happens in this situation? I trust my neighbours and so id be happy for them to try next door and then I can pick it up once Im back. Or will they take it back to the depot/distribution centre? If they do have people managed to go there and pickup, or is it a case of rearranging delivery, (that would be a pain as I'm also out on the following Monday).

I'm pretty sure you can select a 'pickup' location for delivery????

I use the apple silicon case and it's been fine in a building site environment.

As for screen protectors I'm worried it'll interfere with the 3D Touch?

Looking on another thread somebody has a screen protector on their Apple watch and they say it works fine. Possibly as the iPhone has a bigger surface area, this could be a problem but doubt it. Apple would have thought of testing that.

No you can't change the payment card - only cancel the order and re order - see below from Apple website.

Do as MrGimper suggests but just be careful that your card also allows 0% balance transfers (usually for a 3-4% fee) but some are 0% on purchases only and some are for balance transfers only. I have one that is currently giving me 0% on balance transfers til Jan 2017 so am going to buy on my AMEX get my avios points and then transfer that balance.

Can I change my payment method?
The payment method for an order cannot be amended once the order has been submitted to Apple. To chose an alternative payment method, you will need to cancel your existing order and place a new order with your preferred payment method. Please note that when cancelling credit card orders, it can take up to 3 days for the payment authorisation to be removed by your credit card company. As debit cards are charged at time of ordering, Apple will need to process a refund if you decide to cancel your order.

If I go down the buying direct from Apple route, I'll buy it on my normal CC and transfer the balance to my Virgin CC which I got last week which offers 0% on balance transfers and cash advances (2.9% transfer fee) for 40 months :)

I ordered the glas.tr version for £5.99 yesterday when I went a bit crazy on buying Spigen cases LOL (still available for that price at the moment). but just noticed a curved glass version for £9.99 with both front and back protectors. That might be worth a punt and I would probably go for that now if I hadnt ordered the glas.tr one already.

Like many on here I care about my gadgets and phones and really like them spotless for a good resale value a year down the line. Glass protectors are worth the fiver or so just to ensure the screen doesnt get scratched.

Back to pressing F5 on the Apple Store page :)

When I bought my iPhone 6 I bought a blue silicone case. I only used it a few times and then got a Moleskin book like cover. The type that you can put credit cards in. Yesterday I swapped back to the silicone case and I'm surprised by how much thinner the phone feels.

Like the look of the lavender silicone case....but red might be a better colour for me.

Didn't bother with a screen saver for my iPhone 6 and after a year there are hardly any marks.

Most cards charge a balance transfer fee 3% or 4% in cases. Can add over £20 on a £700 transfer

Yes but usually still worth the fee than taking on finance or a non 0% card. I should really save in advance for next year!! I do that for a lot of things - easy with online banking to open lots of little 'sub' savings accounts.

I think I may wet myself at excitement this week! I've booked an awesome safari for our anniversary next year, the iPhone has been announced and now MUSE have just announced a UK tour in April :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Was worried the MUSE presale might start tomorrow morning and I'd be trying to get phone and tickets at same time but thankfully Muse tickets are next week!

Anyone buying a dock?

At £39 its not that cheap. I have a standard plastic one that I don't use much its easter just to plug the cable in

I've personally never seen the need for a dock.

The only annoyance I have is the plug point, at home and work, are underneath my desk, and if charging and the phone is on my desk, the cable , being the angle it is to get to the plug point, will break over time.

This is why I really really need to invest in a decent 'rugged' cable as the Apple supplied ones are crap and I never use them. I have the Amazon Basics one which is actually very good and has lasted me over a year no probs.

Yip same here. For months I have been saying no, no will miss a year but thats just not going to happen. I've bought at least one phone ever year since the first gen iPhone so can't stop now!

I have had a Samsung Note 4 for the past year. Longest I ever stuck with android, but its time to go back , and no time like the present :)

Am going to do the same with EE today - but really to see if they will better my current sim only deal that is about to expire. Want them to match the Three £11 per month tariff with 2GB data, 200 mins and unlimited text. That is all I need as have wifi at home and in the office.

If you are with ee and at the end of your sim only contract you might be able to get

2000 mins
unlimited texts
5GB 4G for £11.99 (12 months contract)

They wont offer it to you straight away, someone from Retention's (UK) will give you a call back and offer you this. There was a thread on the HotUKdeals website that i followed to get this deal.
