You might have a problem, it's not as if it's a fault you could return it for as they give the warning on their page.

If you intend staying on o2 for at least 6 months then it might be worth the risk, and getting it unlocked once o2 start doing it. At worst it will cost you £15 and should be free if you have a contract with them.
Feel like I'm taking a big gamble with this!! I have been with O2 for many years and I'm happy with the service so won't be changing networks anytime soon.

I need to open the box to see how the buttons feel as my problem with the 6s I received on Friday was with the sleep/wake button being faulty in it's action.

For those of you who just can't eat, sleep or dream without knowing if I got my phone, I can confirm... I did!

The only stressful part was mashing the refresh button to get the reservation page to load at 6.00am and the minor scorch marks from using the keyboard and trackpad so fast.

At the store itself (London White City) it was almost an anti-climax. I arrived in the middle of my time slot, they checked my name and I was served within a few minutes. I never saw more than five people in the pre-order making the crowd barriers a bit OTT. As always, friendly and helpful, allowing me to have a good look at the case options and even apologising for the time it took, when the whole process was only about fifteen minutes. Buying a PAYG phone in an empty carrier store can take longer.

I also splurged on the gold/midnight blue Apple watch sport. If I'm going to commit my great great grandchildren to financial disaster, I'm going to do it properly dammit!

Ohh very nice. I think the theatre of crowd barriers outside is OTT too.

I've just set my alarm for 6am 3rd day running
I have been on annual leave but back to work tomorrow so makes no difference. Not happy I had to get up early for my last two days off and then couldn't get back to sleep!!

anyone know how long you get to pick up a phone if you reserve one? its likely i wont be able to pick on up until the evening if i manage to reserve one.

thanks

I was a little surprised today when i noticed my local John Lewis had stock of the 6s today but i'm waiting for the 7

John Lewis policy on returns states that any unwanted items must be unused in a resalable condition in all original packaging, if I open the phone then they might not accept it back?
You have distance selling goods act on your side and its John Lewis they aren't usually awkward you wouldn't have a problem

You can set a 15 minute time slot at any point that day to pick it up. But if they are not too busy they should be fine dealing with you earlier. The guy in front of me in the short queue was an hour early but they didn't make him wait. I'd just select a time that you can easily make and if they are busy when you arrive you can always go and get dinner first.

Thanks! If I'm happy with the 6s John Lewis send me then I will keep it! But obviously I'll need to open the box and inspect it before I decide.

Yup, when it comes to customer service there are few that do it better than John Lewis. A few years ago I ordered a sideboard and was told that it came fully assembled. When it arrived, it was in boxes, with advice that two people were needed to build it. A quick and painless phone call and the same or next day, after work, the guy in charge of building all the display models at the branch (I think he was a manager as well - certainly not a new intern) came round and built it all for me. No charge, no moaning, no cup of tea accepted. Try that with PC World!

Thanks - most of the internet seems jealous to the point of mass homicide if you get the flu before them. I appreciate some other person I've never met being pleased for me when they're still trying to get theirs.

Good luck and I'm sure there will be more stock tomorrow, if not they will deliver Monday for availability Tuesday. I'm sure your tip to log in to the Apple store first helped as well.

At least it isn't as bad as the situation when I got my 5S. I waited for at least a couple of weeks, and then ended up getting a PAYG one from my carrier because I was fed up waiting for availability at the Apple store.

ahh damn it, might as well forget that option then. do you get hour slots or anything?

You have to select a 15 minute slot but that is for queue management. On Friday my reservation was for 8:30 to 8:45pm so it would be held for me all day (it closes at 9pm) as I wasn't sure what time I could make it. I was able to pick it up with zero hassle at 2:30pm, there was no queue so they served me immediately and said it wasn't an issue my reservation wasn't until later. Just select a time at the end of the day and pick it up earlier and you should be fine, worked perfectly for me anyway.

Thanks for that, ill give that a try tomorrow morning! alarm is usually set for 6.30 so the 30min earlier wakeup better be worth it!

Right, I've finally lost patience. I've cancelled my Apple order and gone with John Lewis for collection on Tuesday. I'm on Three so I can get it unlocked easily!
Blimey i didn't realise you could do that and they would have stock. Whats JL returns policy like? Same as Apples?

I'm not a huge fan of glass screen protectors as I always find that they're less sensitive than their plastic counterparts, especially when the phone is resting on a table.

I went from nothing to the screen protector above and I can't say I noticed any difference in how I interacted with the phone.

Did some quick testing, with the phone on the sofa the only time it didn't detect my finger was when it was such a light touch that in actual fact I wouldn't expect a naked iPhone to detect the touch. Normal use posed no problem. A lighter touch than I would normally use posed no problem.

Am I missing something here or did this go for a lot of money!? I know it says 6S but he clears fixed this in the comments way before people started bidding.
Because people didn't bother to read the full description. He obviously knew what he was doing by listing it as a 6s plus go to more people to view it. Bet he doesn't get the money tho and if he does the buyer can claim it all back as its not as described
