UK iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Thread

Well personally its the effort of getting the thing out of your pocket and then it just feels a bit... unsteady? I feels like I'm going to drop it all the time because its unwieldy and you have to use it 2 handed, well i do because i don't have giant hands...

SIM free iPhones can only be used with a UK-network SIM card, and will not accept foreign SIM cards.
Why would they do that, don't understand it at all :/ Any way around it?

I've never understood the issues with the plus. I'm a 5' 2 female with appropriately proportioned hands and I have no problem at all using the plus. Sure, some things need two hands but a good 85% of the time I can happily use it one handed, in public and it sits in my back pocket quite merrily. I take it out if I'm sitting down as I did genuinely have a very bent 5 but otherwise no problem at all.

Just got my iPhone 6s Plus today. Wow! I am in love with it, the camera is amazing and it's just so lightning fast with everything. Well worth the upgrade!
Well I'm hearing mixed responses. Seems most people who have one or have spoken to JL say that it doesn't lock. I will find out tomorrow when i get mine. If it does lock i will probably return it. I think thats outrageous, what right do they have to do that? You own the device. Its like saying you can have this fridge but you can take it with you when you move house.
If jl state it on the website why buy one from there in the first place?
I'm sure you know about distance selling regulations and the sales of good act. If three have supplied a faulty phone then three have to sort it out.

But....They have told you before you bought it.... Therefore it isn't really that outrageous, if they kept this hidden and it happened. Yes completely outrageous but it is in black and white on the website, they aren't hiding it they aren't trying to pull the wool over your eyes. They haven't even hidden it in thousands of T&Cs

I know 'S' years tend not to be 'worth the upgrade' generally but I agree with you it is 'well worth it!'

It does state on the John Lewis website that the iPhone will lock itself to the first SIM card that gets put in! So I think that will be correct info? So just presume that's what will happen.

I've noticed one or two quirks myself; iOS 9.1 PB was aOK on my 6 Plus last week so am guessing any issues will be ironed out in the coming weeks.
Ok so i just phoned John Lewis and asked them...
They said they've had this question loads over the last few days and they said its incorrect information and have asked their web team to have it removed from their website. She said she fully expects the device to be fully unlocked like it was purchased directly from Apple, she indicated they get the stock directly from them and i could even consult with them to back up what JL are saying.
Seems to have cleared it up for me, they must have had a ton of phone calls about it.

OH now this is interesting!! So they actually confirmed verbally that the iPhone's are unlocked and will stay unlocked?! Why on earth did that info get put up on the website in the first place? Odd!
Don't know what to believe now... As an article I read last night which posted a few pages back said only unlocked phones came direct from Apple while 3rd party retailers sell SIM free which will lock to first network SIM inserted, John Lewis was also mentioned as one of those retailers! Hmmmm....
Well i did say to her that if it did lock i would not be happy and i would return it, she said that would be fine but she doesn't think that will happen. She sounded pretty convinced that it would not lock, like she had been answering the question all day.
In all honesty... If that is the case why buy from Apple? You get 2 years guarantee for nothing and up to 90 days return period with JL.
Like i said earlier i will confirm all this tomorrow when i pick it up, i have a spare 3 sim as well as my EE one. Will give it a test.

Wow I'm shocked. Last year I upgraded my contract to the lg G3. After a day I realised that I just didn't like it. I returned it after 2 days and swapped it for the Galaxy S5. They didn't even quibble.

Well my 6S from JL will be here in less than an hour but I only have one O2 sim that I will use in it!
What do they do to the phones that enables them to lock to the first network SIM?!
Well, in this case I could've saved myself some dollar by buying my phone from JL.

Shame you don't have another sim you could test just to confirm for everyone interested.
