My phone has shut down twice on its own for no reason. I know this was an issue discussed at length a couple of weeks back. Was it confirmed this is a iOS issue?

Does anyone know how Apple shipments work? Are they completely sporadic? I was hoping to trade in my 6s for a 6s+, but the Edinburgh store has yet to restock (as with most of the UK). I saw that John Lewis had a few phones, but their 64GB stock is now gone.

Well, O2 originally told me my 128gb 6s+ (space grey) would take up to 6 weeks to arrive, but it showed up yesterday!

Facebook is only used via safari, use various apps including youtube, twitter, sky news plus all the ones visible from the pics. have tested it against my 2 year old 5s and the 5S has better battery life. As you can see have lost another 10% in last 2 hours.

I'd say you have a stuck process somewhere that's eating the battery. Assuming you can't identify a single culprit app, in order I'd try:
  • Hard reset phone (hold home and power until it restarts)
  • Restore to factory settings then restore from backup
  • Restore to factory settings then set up as a new phone
At least one other person on here (Macmandy I think) was having similar issues that were cured by a restore.

I had a similar nice surprise. Ordered 128GB 6S Plus for myself and 128GB 6S for the OH on O2 on Friday. I was told the 6S would be here Monday, but my 6S Plus would be up to three weeks... Then about 8pm on Friday got a text and e-mail from O2 telling me my 6S Plus had been dispatched and would be with me yesterday, and it was... I guess O2 took an unexpected delivery of 6S Plusses! :D

My order was scheduled for delivery same dates as yours! I'm glad you got yours though!

I just ordered from John Lewis, as much as I wanted to go into the Apple Store and buy it I couldn't wait (2 year guarantee isn't bad either)!! Delivered to store tomorrow :) same model as yours too! Hope it's good!!

I'm loving mine, I was going to get mine from John Lewis, but they had none RG models in the High Wycombe store, plenty of Space grey ones though. I've recently ended uo buying every model so a 2 year warranty shouldn't be nessesary!

Most reviews say it's not a worthy upgrade from the 6+ but I diasgree, it's so much faster, 3D touch becomes second nature and the camera is great - espcially when it comes to selfies at night! And then of course this phone is solid as a rock compared to the 6+ I didn't have problems with mine, but my Dad managed to bend his. But the whole build quality of this model feels better and feels less slippery too!

Now the JB is out I'm really tempted to go get a 16gb 6s instead of waiting until I have enough for the 64gb (my iPhone savings account has exactly £540 in - typical and I don't have £80 spare just now to add and make it up to £619).

I don't want to miss the JB window!

But as I plan to keep it for a few years at least and apps are getting bigger etc. photos and videos too. I know 16gb won't cut it this time around.

But I'm still really tempted!

Help me refrain!

Yeah guys, really not feeling this phone for some reason its just not as smooth as a 6? It keeps doing weird things and i've tried changing settings etc but no luck! Reluctant to go to Apple as I'll get given a replacement rather than a brand new

Definitely agree on the lack of smoothness. Control center and performance intermittently lags, my guess is software which will be fixed with iOS updates to come. I sent back my pre-ordered 6S and re-purchased in store so I can go instore to exchange/refund instead.

Really? Mine is smooth as anything, my iPhone 6 Plus became laggy after iOS9.0.1 and stayed the same in iOS9.0.2, I must say my 6S Plus is still in just iOS9 - so maybe try downgrading to iOS9 - or waiting till iOS9.1.

The chances are is software :) as iOS9 certainly hasn't had the best reviews.

What issues are you having ?

All sorts, so the battery isnt amazing, location is turned off yet it still likes to pop up, my contacts are f***ed tried sorting that I give up and yeah I've had times where it's just turned off apps on me etc, on screen graphics are wonky etc....

Ordered my 6s Plus 64gb 1 week ago today and have had no movement. Always hopeful of getting Apple items earlier than the suggested delivery date.
Still showing as processing and delivery date after 28th Oct.
Regular checks online with Apple for reservations in the North East and with John Lewis have proved fruitless, so I guess its just wait and see.

Do people not manage to get 2 years warranty from Apple? I'd expect considering the cost of the item that the sale of goods act would be on your side if there was a fault in the second year

Apple will cover any iPhone bought direct for 2 years, I've had them replace an 18 month old 5s and a 22 month old 5 fairly recently. The paperwork says "Consumer Law" in the box for warranty. I didn't even have to mention the consumer law, the Genius volunteered to replace it under consumer law before I had the chance to bring it up on both occasions.

My JL order is going to be delivered to store tomorrow, cannot wait! Don't know how I will survive work waiting for it...!

I've installed iOS 9 PB on my iPhone 6s Plus. It's definitely much improved on 9.0.2 (even for a Beta product). There's an annoying quirk with landscape/portrait orientation but that's to be expected for a Beta.

Apple are definitely great when it comes to After Sales Care. My old mid-2011 iMac developed an LCD panel fault. Was quoted £460 for replacement but I used the Sales of Goods Act and they repaired it for free of charge. That was after owning it for three years.

Going back further I dropped my iPhone 4 on the floor in January 2011. The lovely Genuis lady at Sheffield Meadowhall gave me a new handset instead of charging me £160 for getting it mended.

The standard warranty apart from any consumer law is only one year. They will not always repair or replace outside of the first year but in some cases they do but it all depends on who you speak to and where. There is no guarantee they will take care of any issues after the first year.

Those issues are not indicative of the 6S or 6S Plus. Some of them may be down to faults with your particular phone. I suspect all warranty replacements are still new even if they are white box so you may want to consider swapping it out. The only downside is the serial number on your phone will not match that on your original box.

Aw please don't tell me this :( I've just sent back my 6 Plus for these very reasons (well that and the size), replacing it for a regular 6 thinking it was just the Plus that was lagging. Considering the performance improvements I expected better! Grrr

I don't think you quite understand what I've written. Apple will honour their SoGA obligations for the second year, this only applies to iPhones sold directly by Apple and not through other retailers. They even make that distinction on their warranty page now.

If you take the item in for a Genius Bar appointment and make it plain your are relying on consumer law for them to repair or replace they will do so. Obviously this is only for faults that would normally be covered by warranty in the first year and not user damage etc.

In all honesty, Apple are the best company I've ever come across when it comes to supporting their products and aftercare. As long as I've had a defect that shouldn't have happened occur, it's always been just swapped out - including phones I've got from a network rather than Apple directly, and even if the device has been between a year and two years old.

You pay a premium for Apple it, but that gives them the finances to happily sort out genuine problems with a personal service at the Genius Bar and swaps where necessary. This helps give them happy customers that are willing to pay a premium come upgrade or replacement time...
