Wish I could do the same but I'll miss out on my yearly upgrades :(

Ahhh, are you doing the 20/30GB deal, upgrades every 12months? At least you'll be getting a upgrade every 12 month's, i'll have a large upgrade cost if I want to upgrade next year!

It is not PER DAY. The deal for 500 MB of data is for 25 pounds and for SEVEN DAYS only. If you think this is an acceptable price to pay then that's fair enough. In comparison with EE or Three who offer free roaming to 20 countries if you're on contract then they're lagging behind really bad.

The EE deal is £4 per day for 500Mb data, unlimited calls and texts (or £3/day if you're on an EE extra tariff), it's their Europass deal: Google it if you don't believe me. The drawback is that only 100Mb data is full speed, the rest is slower (but they don't say how much slower).

  • Get unlimited calls and texts plus loads of data whilst abroad in our Europe Zone for £4 a day (inclusive of VAT where applicable).
  • You will only be charged on days you make or receive calls, send a text or use data abroad in our Europe Zone.
  • Euro pass comes with 100MB of full-speed data up front each day, with 4G where available. After that, you’ll be able to continue using another 400MB data at no extra charge to keep browsing, messaging and using social media at a slower speed.

I've just come back off the holiday from Italy, and I can tell you that you're wrong. Find an upload of a screenshot from their official roaming information.

EDIT: it seems as though we were both right, for some reason I could not have used the Euro Pass.

It's a bit late now, but you should've signed up for the Euro pass

Would love to upgrade each year but next year will end up paying cash on the new phone as will be mid contract and cheaper that way, shame apples upgrade programme isn't in UK yet! Bet it is after launch though

Actually you're the one who is wrong. I signed up for their Euro Pass when in Germany last month and I only got charged £4 for each day I used the service which included unlimited calls and texts and the limited data which was 500MB per day as mentioned by others.

This is the deal I signed up to for £120 upfront with 64gb plus space grey on 30gb tariff and £59 per month. Currently on three sim only sick of the not so great signal here.

Yes, I am now aware of this - however once again I was not able to activate it as my roaming was not working, despite ringing EE to confirm that I'm going abroad. Only managed to get it working on the last day of my trip, and it was time to go home so didn't bother at all.

My partner however activated 500mb of data for 7 days and she claimed that she also couldn't use the Europass - her roaming was fully functional.

Look, I'm not looking for an argument. I am only merely sharing my experiences and what I experienced whilst being abroad. I personally couldn't activate the Europass, neither could my partner. She had to opt in for the 25 pound package.

I didn't have to ring them and didn't even activate it until I was in Germany. It was a simple and quick process and only took a few minutes. Once activated it stays activated until you opt out so you only have to do it once.

Sorry I don't mean to kick the arse out of this, it's interesting to hear. Did either of you text EUROPASS to 150? while you where abroad?

I will be upgrading to iOS 9 tomorrow. I want to see how it performs on my current phone to see if I can see any difference when the new phone comes. Plus it gives me something to play with and take my mind of having to wait another week and a half for the new phone.

Plus when I restore my new phone I want it to restore from an iOS 9 backup not an iOS 8 backup.

I did, just to make sure. Did no good, when I arrived in Italy my phone kept showing no service, was out most of the day and no wi-fi to get in contact with EE and only managed to sort it out on the last day of my trip, then it was no longer necessary.

Only God knows why my partner could't activate her EuroPass.

I personally didn't as my roaming was not working at all, kept showing No Service. My partner did text this and nothing happened. The next day she activated the 500mb internet package and that came through almost immediately.

On a more different note, I've just logged into my orders page to track my Silicone cases. The carrier information is slightly worrying as it was supposed to be delivered today and what the hell is APPLE EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA?

Anyone bothering with iOS 9 tomorrow?

Trying my hardest to not download it so when I get my 6S+ will feel a bit more 'new'.. Guess it add's to the excitement, and the fact that I'm upgrading from an iPhone 4S haha

Am the same what to keep that for my the 6s so it feels extra new. But now wondering if I should do before backing up current phone (5s) ands eating up new phone....

To all those who helped me with the unlocking issue here is the bottom line confirmed by CPW:
"All handsets are unlocked to the networks. Except for Apple handsets which lock to the network of the first sim card inserted."
Just to check. I'm new to apple. I ordered from the apple store. I assume these will remain unlocked at all times?

Those of you who have reserved a phone for collection in store on the 25th:

Does it show up under 'Reservations' in the Apple Store app on your phone? I have an email confirming my reservation, but it doesn't have many details on it.

Should I be concerned?

I've just seen the post above about having a iOS 9 back up and not a iOS 8, especially since I've only gone for a 16GB as well.. It's gonna be a long 10 day's until delivery as well haha
