Re the whole ethics of preordering with the intention of returning or reselling etc.:

If people were that desperate for a phone on launch day (to the extent that we should feel guilty that the returners are denying them launch day devices) I can't help but think that they should have been up refreshing the store waiting for it to go live like the rest of us.

Did my O2 preorder in store this afternoon after work. Apparently I bagged the last 6S 128gb space grey for release day! Depending on what time I start work on the 25th, I might mosey on down in the morning. Otherwise it will have to wait until my lunch break.

Something that slightly annoyed me though was the £50 deposit. There wasn't a deposit last year, and the dude on webchat last week said there would be no deposit this year either. So don't know what that's all about. Its only a deposit, so I get it back regardless, it just threw me a bit.

Something REALLY annoying though, is that I can't keep my current tariff. Which means my bill will go up by £8 per month. Stupid that O2 have scrapped their 2gb tariffs but kept the 1gb :-/

Very strange when I did my upgrade on o2 I didn't need to pay any deposit! Glad really because I cancelled and upgraded via mobiles.co.uk for a much much better deal!

What deal did you get? Best that I'm seeing is £46 (£25 phone, £21 tariff).

Well me personally went for a 6S+ 16GB, on o2 I was signed up for 3GB @ 46pm / upfront £100, cancelled it and upgraded via mobiles and got same package however 36pm / £135 upfront. Used UPGRADE15 for £15 off upfront cost.

BIB: I can only they'd imagine o2 would require a deposit for those with a poor credit history. I'm by no way implying you've got an issue whatsoever but it might be worth checking out your credit reports in case there's incorrect information on there.

EE is shocking for roaming. 4 quid a day and you only get 50mb.

O2 is £1.99 a day and you get unlimited usage.

If I were to change networks is only consider three as they now have quite a few countries with free roaming.

Unfortunately there are more factors to consider then that. The primary one is what signal strength you get in the places you use it most like home and work. I use to be on O2 but got poor signal both at home and work as well as many other places. With EE I get a much stronger signal. Plus EE are the only ones offering wi-fi calling which can come in handy.

Very true, each network has it's strengths and weaknesses - for me, it's between Vodafone and Three for the world roaming options but one other thing to consider are the recent VoLTE/voice-over-wifi changes - those could be a potential game changer for those (like me) who live in areas with terrible reception across all networks.

I am thinking of moving from Vodafone to EE - but as I travel a lot the £3 a day Euro Passport and £5 a day World Passport - to allow me to use my "at home" call and data package is very useful - I've had a look but can't see if EE do anything similar ?? Anyone know??

EE do have something similar, £3 a day for 1GB data in the EU, you can also get call add on's. Also if you're on a EE extra tariff you can use your call and text allowance like as at home.

One thing I do really like about EE is the way they handle data aboard, soon as you land you receive a text message saying welcome to ... You will not be able to use any data at all until select one of their data roaming options. Soon as it runs out, no data again. So no horrors when you get back home spending £1000's.

Vodafone are offering wifi calling with the 6s and 6s+ model now

I upgraded with O2 through mobiles.co.uk too! Had a launch day 6S 64GB Space grey on order and decided I wanted a 6S+ and not only did mobiles.co.uk have better upgrade deals for O2 (which is a shame considering I'm a loyal customer and O2 said there was 'nothing they could offer'), but they also had much better shipping dates than O2 did/do!

Got iPhone 6S+ 64GB Space Grey with unlimited texts and calls, 3GB of data for £46pm and £84 upfront (with promo code).

EE is shocking for roaming allowances in the EU. I recently got back from Italy and they wanted 25 pounds for 500mb of data for 7 days! Absolute rip off, o2 are best for data abroad.

Quick update on EE tariff (renewal of 12 monthly SIM only contract):
First call to customer support and got offered £20.99 4Gb Unlimited Minutes and Texts, which I immediately rejected and quoted a few of the other networks prices.
Was then transferred to Retentions, who offered £16.99 4Gb Unlimited Minutes and Texts.
Didn't go as far as requesting a PAC code (which might have prompted a better offer?), but said I needed some time to think about it...
Will this be as good as it gets?

I got offered the same deal as you, 20.99 but then reduced by 4 pounds to 16.99. Mine however included free unltd calls to 0800 numbers which I need as I sometimes do freelance and need to call 0800 numbers frequently. I accepted the deal as I couldn't be bothered with going to retention etc

All in all they couldn't beat my previous contract which was 5gb data, 2k minutes and unltd texts and unltd 0800 calls for 10 pounds a month. Yes, 10 pounds a month for the first 6 months, then 20 pounds a month, which works out at 15 quid a month which is not a good deal really.

That's a decent deal that for 64GB, it's defo worth people having a look anyways, especially with the £15 off code, but like you say it's a shame O2 can't try a bit harder for loyal customers, but I guess they still get the money either way

I use an app called WeQ4U for calling 08 number's, worked well so far (only used it for about 4 different number's, but still works!).

I preordered my 6S Plus and have got an estimated delivery of 25/9. I wanted the Rose Gold but it was sold out for the 6S Plus 64GB when I ordered so I cancelled it and got the Space Grey instead. I always buy the phone outright then go on SIM only. I go with Three all the time as they are the only network I can find that has unlimited data, which is the only thing I really want.

Anyone remember when they introduced visual voicemail? I can't seem to get it to work with Three. Is it a US only feature?

Only on O2 and EE not three

Didn't know about that! I shall investigate this then.

I'm still waiting for my silicone cases to turn up, UKMAIL sent me a message yesterday that my cases will get delivered today - have they heck!
