I very much doubt it's directly a hardware issue.
Most probably it's the new Intel chip that has not been coded correctly.
The Qualcomm chip was well run in. All problems had been ironed out.
Here you have a new chip that is going to bring error after error for the time being.

I wonder if it's solvable by a carrier software update.

Can you link me, I've just trawled back through ThreeUKSupport and can not find anything on this.

I meant their account is official. You can see in their tweets that they have replied to many people with the issue, there was one saying they were aware of the issue, but that was the other day and I can't easily find it.

Looks like i will be replacing my phone for a 4th one! I have lost all signal :-(

Anyone in MK having problems?

Thanks... but here lays the problem with information like this:- It is solely hearsay where one customer operator informs a user something along the lines of "it is a known problem where Tech Support will address at a later date".
Information like this is not an official statement it's simply hand-down info. There is no credibility, accountability or official statement.
What should happen is the carrier Three Network release a general notice of issue stating the error and what intentions will be made to rectify, including dates. This in turn is then normally picked up in Blogs/Media coverage/etc and released to the general public.

I too am having this problem. I'm irritated, and hope they fix it soon.
[doublepost=1474900272][/doublepost]p.s. iPhone 7+ 128GB, A1784.

The main issue also seems to be that it won't connect to the 800mhz supervoice band. There are certain places where I can only connect to this band on my previous phone but with my iPhones 7 plus I get no signal. I don't know if this is a 3 issue or a firmware issue, but as three is the only network using this band in the U.K. that might be where the problem lies?

That also might be why we see 2 three networks when selecting manual network, and why one of them doesn't get a signal.

That would make perfect sense. The Qualcomm chip is coded for 800mhz hence no issues with previous phone models.
The Intel chip on the iPhone 7 however is an unknown quantity. It's never been used by the mass.

It's a shame my first post on here is because of a problem but now I've discovered these forums, I'm sure I'll be using them regularly!

I too have an iPhone 7+ and am experiencing problems with 4G on Three. Been having trouble since I started using my phone last Thursday. Once 4G goes off, only a reboot will get it to come back on and sometimes only a hard reset or reset of network settings. Sometimes it will just randomly revert to 3G or will happen once I come out of airplane mode.

I've spoke to Three several times and used their online chat and have got nowhere. They all claim it's the first time they've heard of it and refused to believe their own Twitter support account acknowledges there's a problem.

I assume people on here have also contacted Apple about it? The woman I spoke to on Friday had never heard about it and the engineer I spoke to yesterday hadn't either. So the more people that contact Apple, the better. I pointed out people in the US also have problems with turn new iPhones on the Verizon network. He ran a diagnostic on my phone which it passed and I even restored my phone and set up as new just so I could say I've tried everything.

It hasn't suddenly lost 4G today but did lose it after coming out of airplane mode. Also, today all my buttons on my iPhone stopped working. Luckily they were still able to trigger a hard reset.

Just been on the phone with three, they keep stating that it's an iPhone issue and Apple should replace my handset. They're scheduling a call back tomorrow after the test of taking SIM card out and back in to see if that sorts the issue (despite me telling them I've done this mupltiple times). Then they will speak to their 'network team' and have them call me.

This is getting ridiculous! I've had my phone for a week now and I've had 4G twice since I've got it...

I get it for a period after various suggestions, the Length varies. I'm sure other people have had iPhones changed and still having this issue though? Seems weird that it's only Three, so it has to be the network not the phone?

I'm going a little loopy.

I hope it's a network issue... As I really don't want to wait a few weeks for a new iPhone 7 plus

I have a sinking feeling about this.

Ordered a new iPhone 7 and was delivered on launch day. I haven't even had it out the box as I was going on holiday a few days after and wouldn't take it with me as knowing luck it'd get nicked or something.

So sat abroad reading this. I'm on three too. They've got a few days to at least acknowledge the problem or it may have to go back when I get home.

We need the media to pick this up... Maybe get a bit of traction.

I did try an EE SIM card in it yesterday. Used airplane mode on & off plenty and only once did it come on as 3G only. Another quick airplane mode and 4G showed straight away.

Ive done a bug report to Apple as well but heard nothing back from it yet.

So frustrating.

It doesn't seem to affect all Three customers though? Or have people simply not noticed? Really hoping not to have it replaced with the current stock shortages.

I've had 2 7+. It has done it on both. I have 4G at home now. But I know I manually selected network within the last 24hrs and switched back to auto.

When I went to pick up a Black 7+ I took the Silver 7+ with me. Which had been on 3G for over 24 hours. I got to Solihull, inside Touchwood and magically I was on 4G.

I've had this problem for the past ten days on my iPhone 7 (not a Plus). Three were fairly useless when I phoned yesterday (the lady I spoke to suggested that if I could access the internet via 3G there wasn't really a problem). This morning I phoned Apple and was told to reset the network settings. I've done so and so far the 4G seems to be working okay.

Here's a question:- Those of you with the problem, where exactly did you get your phone from. Was it directly from Three which is locked to the Three network, or did you purchase it unlocked running on a SIM only plan?

Direct from Apple using an existing three contract sim.
