Hi folks, anyone used Mazuma Mobile? I’ve locked in £700 for my iPhone 16 pro max 256. Are they easy to deal with?

I'm really surprised by how little love there is for the Air.

I'm interested. But the more I've looked at the updates to the regular 17 you're getting 120hz, always on display, larger screen, thinner bezels, 256GB base storage, improved cameras, longer battery life. It's a really solid upgrade and £200 less than the Air.

The Air looks nice and yes you get a larger display and thinner chassis, but you also have shorter battery life, a worse single camera and a single earpiece speaker.

It's a tough one and I'm leaning more towards the regular given how good it is, and the added cost saving.

And I just know if I got the Air there will be a moment when my battery dies and I kick myself for paying more for this thing when the regular model would still be working.

It is tough to justify the purchase with the amount of missing features and/or lack off...

I’ve used them many times. Only one bad experience when they offered a lower price once they’d got my device. I forget the details. I was annoyed at the time but I think they were being strict with their rules. I used them again. I used to check them and Music Magpie and go with whoever offered more.

I now just use CeX. It’s completely hassle-free.

(Though for my Air purchase I am using Apple’s own programme because with BPF they apply the credit immediately.)

I think I'm going to be (possibly) foolish and go for iPhone Air, 512GB, Cloud White.

I'm a sucker for minimalist, classic Apple designs and I think the form factor is too hard to resist at least trying out.

The 6.5" screen is a great middle point between the regular Pro and Pro Max, the design looks stunning, it's still got the new front camera and a decent 48MP back camera (the lens I use 90% of the time anyway).

I never use the speakers personally (always AirPods), and if the battery and/or cameras let me down, I'll just use O2 Switch Up to go back to Pro or Pro Max in December after 90 days.

Sorry if this is covered on pages 1-14, just a UK FYI - when I did the "get ready for preorder" piece, it asked for payment details - previous years i've used apple pay and it didn't do anything else.

This year I was on the macbook (no AP setup) so did via credit card. It did a full request to my bank for the amount then, I had to approve in the bank app etc. It definitely showed the amount of the order in the bank app, albeit it wasnt a hold since the available balance didn't change (hadnt seen that before).

Not sure if this is new this year (pre-checking bank stuff) or just a quirk of credit card rather than Apple Pay. I still have to complete on friday, and select delivery / collection etc.

It sure does, that's why I went for that colour.

I caved and pre-ordered in silver but will cancel that for blue. Annoyed at how little Apple are willing to offer as a trade in for my 13 Pro even though in my view it’s in a very good state. Just £220.

£175 of a difference is a big chunk though for me anyway.

I had pre ordered pro 512gb / with AirPod pro 3

Changed the order now just for the phone as states 24/9 for the AirPods to be delivered if ordered separately …

Edit just did a separate order - hopefully can pick up both at same time !

According the eye strain thread only the Pro models have the setting to disable PWM. Which means my decision to go for the Pro and not the other models was accidentally correct. Also leaving my upgrade until the 17 Pro was also accidentally correct as that’s the first thing I’ll be doing turning off PWM.

I just ordered the Air Bumper for occasional outdoor use and I wondered: I assume it’s compatible with the MagSafe Battery. I did wonder why the battery wasn’t flush with the edges of the phone and making space for the bumper would explain it.
