Pro colours are not to everyone’s liking this year.
Blue seems to be the least 'offensive' with the 2-tone. Which is annoying as someone coming from a Blue Titanium 15 Pro and looking to switch up colours.

Silver/white looks like a kitchen appliance in certain angles but overall neutral and will probably go with most cases.

Orange looks like salmon in certain angles.

But you probably just have to see in person to decide

I also worry the novelty of the orange will wear off after like...halloween.

Currently for me its either Blue 17 Pro or Sage 17. Both in my basket for now.

I have been on the IUP but dropped out. I went for the 0% finance deal and you can still trade in your phone and get a new one at any time. It's just not for certain as in the IUP. To be honest though, I never had an issue getting an iPhone on release day, which was the primary benefit.
You also get to choose if you want to use AppleCare on the Finance deal. Could be worthwhile if you have insurance somewhere else. In my case, I am actually also using my 16 Pro as trade in and drops my monthly fee to 35 quid for the 17 Pro Max.

Hi, thanks for the response. So how does upgrading to a new iphone work every year? Do you just pay off the remainder of the balance and take out a new 24month loan?

So you think If I did the above and had Applecare+ they would also refund me for the remaining year?

cheers

I feel like the Air is getting a slightly bad rap.

Yes it has only got one camera, but it’s still a good single camera and the one most people probably use most.

Yes it lacks RAW and Prores video capture, so anyone who actually uses those features will obviously not want it. But how many consumers (or even prosumers) do?

It has ProMotion, Always On, the same tiny bezels, a 3000nits brightness screen, the new Ceramic Shield both sides and the same upgraded front camera as the Pros.

Its battery equals the battery of last year’s regular Pro, which was already the best ever for that size.

It’s also a Goldilocks size, between the size of a Pro and Pro Max.

I question how much of a difference in real world use single vs dual speakers makes to most people.

It’s the thinnest iPhone ever and the most durable too. It also is the cleanest design and most premium, arguably, since the iPhone 14 Pro.

It’s certainly not a joke or to be dismissed lightly, especially given the new Pros are the chunkiest iPhones ever, and have a very questionable back design, reverting to cheaper aluminium, not seen on the top end models since iPhone 7.
The price is what confuses me tbh. It’s £100 less than a Pro and £200 more than a standard 17, which I would consider the better device for real world use. Paying £999 for a phone still feels like an awful lot and one that has as many compromises as the Air doesn’t sit right for me. I mean, if it ticks other people’s boxes and they see the advantages they think it offers, I won’t argue there.

I guess we’ll learn more about it once released and a few million people start testing it out. I’m not overly impressed with any of the devices this year though for balance and I’m glad it’s not my cycle tbh.

Question if anyone could help.

Usually, I pay off the phone upfront. I opted for the 24 months 0% with barclays this time, however, Is the better option to use the Apple upgrade programme? As I will get a new phone every year. Are there any pros or cons with either of these options?

Thanks
Iphone upgrade programme is effectively a new personal loan agreement every year. If you’re happy with the marker on the credit file then it’s a good way to lease the phone and always ensure an upgrade on day one. You are forced to take out AppleCare with it and that’s factored in the cost. Not to be confused with the Barclays 24month interest free financing which doesn’t include a yearly upgrade.

I was all up for replacing my 15 Pro (probably with a 17 Pro) due to poor battery life, but after installing the iOS 26 RC yesterday I was out all day golfing and instead of the battery being in the red by now, I've still got 49%. So I'm holding off for now.

Just preordered a blue iPhone 17 pro. First time I’ve done the Barclays 0% finance. Anyone know if it has to be shipped to the address on the finance agreement or can it be sent to another address? I’ll be at my partners address on launch day.

Good question. Never consider that as Pre Order day is very frantic. Everyone rushing to get their orders confirmed.

You can always go for pick up or try change delivery address if it lets u.

Unfortunately my work schedule wouldn’t fit me collecting from my nearest Apple store which is about an hour each way away. I’ll try a different address on Friday and see what happens.

I gave myself a half a day off on Friday to finish by 12 in the afternoon.

Now that’s sorted, is go time on Friday.

If anyone wondering you can order from USA and get delivered here for a little extra if you want that extra battery life .
The UAE Pro models are now eSIM only and with the UK to UAE exchange rate being good for tourists most products work out cheaper. An option for anyone heading to UAE on holiday. The UAE now also allows instore pickups too.
