They will run a diagnostic on it and if it passes you are generally good to go as long as it not dented or cracked anywhere. Last year MM reduced my trade it for £660 to £149 for a cosmetic defect. I had them send it back to me and they had a sticker on it pointing to the defect in the titanium frame... the defect was the plastic antenna strip... they just didn't what to honour the price they gave. Apple Store walk in and they passed it for £490 okay it was less than £660 but by this time the price had dropped a lot and it was better that £149. so this year I'm just gonna take my current iPhone into the Apple Store and trade it in for £500 and I'm happy with that its so hassle free and they refund it on to your pre-order just like they would if you posted it to them.

I feel this year has a new kinda excitement... it's gonna be a whole new iPhone experience this year for me. Last year once I had the latest and greatest phone I was like... its kinda just the same old same old... I'm expecting to go a bit off the rails this year and that's kinda exciting for the first time in years.

This year is gonna be a whole new ride... bring it! 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe it’s just because I more looking forward to the fold next year hopefully. Kinda looking forward to the ultra 3 because I normally get the stainless steel/ titanium version

Whenever the fold is releasing, i’ll wait for the 2nd version, 1st feels it’ll be a testing ground and 2nd and after will be refined and better version. Just my 2cent.
 
I’m not overly excited, just the battery in my 15PM certainly feels worse than the 86% health reported. I actually got a Samsung Fold 7 last month thinking that’d be the phone I go with as I like the idea of a foldable as it is very good but it’s just too fragile, slight dust on inside screen and close it leaves a mark in plastic screen protector. I was just too scared to use it properly, so it’s going back on the up to 100day trial promotion they ran. As much as I’ll want it I’ll probably skip the apple foldable next year and after this the next will be the 20th anniversary iPhone they do.
 
Very late to all the parties this year….meeting over ran on pre order day, so I’ve missed launch day delivery again.

Last year I used the inventory tracker Herokuapp (https://iphonechecker.herokuapp.com/) and managed to secure a launch day phone for the 16… it’s not been updated for the 17 though.

Does anyone have a handle on tracking the daily store stock availability in the run up to Friday?

I’ll be doing my first iPhone pick up from store on launch day. I’m very excited for it, even though it’s at 8pm due to work. However, I feel like I’m a bit more relaxed this year compared to waiting to see who will be delivering my iPhone.

Will be getting the orange pro max, I’ve been waiting many years for an orange iPhone pro model. Very excited to see the Air hands on too.

I’ve had a couple of of breaks since the iPhone X, and skipping the XS, 11 and the 15. It’s nice to have a break sometimes and definitely gets you back into loving iPhone launches. However, it can be torture waiting a year and saying to yourself “should I buy it?” Or “I don’t need the newest iPhone, I can wait for a year”. I usually get to May and start to countdown. Luckily when the beta is released in June, that distracts you.

I think I have the same one for my 16PM. I bought it at launch as a temporary case until manufacturers worked out what they were doing with the camera control button.
Your post made me realise I never actually ended up ever changing it.

I’ve also ordered the same one for the 17PM
